  1. A new flight plan can be brought into LNM from a text editor. Example: A simple flight plan from Boston to Martha's Vineyard would be inserted into LNM and exported to FS2020 as seen in illustrations below. Only step left is to set KMVY ILS frequency 108.7 into NAV 1. Take off, press Auto Pilot and enjoy the Boston harbor scenery and the island. Thanks to LNM. this fight plan will always be there in FS2020 for practice and pleasure! Ron M
  2. Flying IFR in the Citation Longitude and CJ4 and the TBM930 liveries are most satisfying for me. I further enjoy setting up flight plans to anywhere state side using Skyvector and Little Nav Map. The Citations and TBM are fun to fly no matter how rough live weather can be.
  3. The KMVY Approach Plate illustration is not taken from LNM. Instrument Approach Procedures from Sky Vector are opened by clicking on ILS or LOC RWY 24 as shown below. Sorry for the confusion.
  4. For example: To depart KBOS (Boston) and arrive KMVY (Martha's Vineyard), simply copy / past these way points into LNM New Flight Plan from Route Description: KBOS CELTS DUNKK PEAKE CHOPY BEPAY KMVY LNM will also show approach plate info.
  5. Same issue here in the content manager. We're stuck in the decompression phase of the PA44 patch download. Version number is missing, plane cannot be selected.
  6. Check to see if FS2020 Scenery Library is loaded into the Little Navmap internal database. Should look like this:
  7. The ATC window can be opened from the Tool Bar at least to confirm the dialog options are there but, for now ATC comm is not worth using. More variety in controller voices would be nice, they all seem to match the tone of pilot voices. I click the exit button then, no part of ATC is enabled.
  8. It's amazing how much boat traffic out there that could be used for FS2020 AI engines. Looks like there's more boat traffic than there is planes in the air. https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/centerx:-12.0/centery:25.0/zoom:4
  9. There's a live weather map that I use to check weather conditions here: https://www.windy.com/?38.299,-86.331,6 Check the right hand margin for weather overlays of interest.
  10. With the TBM it takes about 45 min from KSJC to KTVL. Live Weather was disabled, patchy snow on mountain peaks only. Flight plan written to take a route up around Squaw Valley, across to the north end of the lake. Then use the full length of Lake Tahoe to line up an approach to RWY 18. RNAV (GPS). Ron M Example flight path from Little NAVMAP:
  11. KTVL South Lake Tahoe airport busy this morning. This flight from KSJC San Jose. My Beechcraft Baron G58 in foreground. Ron M
  12. Flew into South Lake Tahoe from San Jose (KSJC to KTVL) today. Three other TBM 930s arrived ahead of me. I use a flight plan loaded in from Little NAV Map. I really like how this turbo sets up and flies! Ron M
  13. This is what I did to enable Microsoft Flight Simulator to open directly from a desktop icon. There are 4 or 5 Microsoft Apps in my “All Apps folder in File Explorer”, 2 of which are Microsoft Store and Microsoft Flight Simulator. The App that I chose to create a shortcut to my desktop (Figure C), was “Microsoft Flight Simulator”, not “Microsoft Store”. To view the Applications folder in Windows 10, press [Windows]+R, type shell:AppsFolder in the Open text box (Figure A), and press Enter. All your applications should appear in one scrollable window similar to (Figure B). Right click on Microsoft Flight Simulator app icon and select Create Shortcut, as shown in (Figure B). Ron M
  14. I've disabled Acrobat Reader and still the download from Simbrief still associates itself with Adobe Reader. LittleNavMaps and SkyVector flight planning works wonderful with MS2020. The SimBrief app adds a level of detail I like but, this download behavior has me puzzled. There must be a setting that I'm overlooking. Anyone else familiar with SimBrief Download technique? Thanks, Ron M
  15. Is this the file list you're speaking of? At the moment, there's a single file in Saved Flights. Clicking on Load/Edit opens notepad with the file source code in HTML. Sorry, I'm not seeing were to download files to my PC.
  16. The Simbrief Downloader v1.4.5 shows my FS2020 flight plan file name ending with PLN, see screen view below. However, clicking the "download" button results in Adobe Acrobat Reader message claiming it can't open file extension pln. I have no idea why Adobe Acrobat Reader associates itself with flight plans. My question: Is there a setting that disables Adobe Acrobat Reader from getting involved with trying to open flight plan PLN files? Greatly appreciate some help here. Ron M
  17. Update availability not shown yet on west coast (California) Pacific Standard Time
  18. Need more info on your Dell system. I would say if you ordered something like the Dell XPS 8940 with a 16GB RTX graphics card, 1TB SSD drive and 32 Gb memory you should be good to go. The power supply must be 500W or better. Ron
  19. Logged a short 12min flight from Goroka to Chimbu Papua New Guinea (PNG) today. ICAO codes AYGA and AYCH. These are mountain top RWYs mostly set in the clouds. Lots of forest covered mountains. Villages where just generic building blocks. Flight inspiration I got from Missionary Bush Pilot on YouTube. Ron
  20. Logged this flight yesterday, Boston to Denver. Actually, I was inspired to try out the Citation CJ4 computer system by this gentleman's Youtube video here: Worked out pretty well. Ron
  21. Think I'll leave mine set at RC10 for the time being. Logged a 2 3/4 hour flight from Boston to Orlando with no problem.
  22. Can someone suggest what cache setting is most desirable here? Does this setting effect how often a crash to desktop is likely to occur? My system is: W10 Home, v20H2, OS Build 19042.572 16GB RAM, Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070, M.2 SSD 1.0 Thanks, Ron
  23. So far, I've been enjoying MS20, flying prop and jet planes to different destinations, downloading all the upgrades, etc. Happy as can be. When I opened MS20 this morning, a notice said that an update was available. If I recall correctly, it didn't specifically say 1.11.7.0. But, I clicked on proceed anyway and MS20 Standard started to download. Since this was not my experience with past updates, I deleted the download progress. Big mistake. I guess not having a complete understanding of what prompts to click on to start downloading upgrade 1.11.7.0, with one keystroke, I managed to delete my MS20 desktop shortcut and all associated packages. The MS20 icon disappeared from my apps file (SHELL:APPSFOLDER), as well as all the installed packages from path C:\Users\name\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Official\OneStore. Right now, I'm 40 minutes into a complete download of recommended content 10Gb of 106Gb. And, the installed Packages file is beginning to fill. So, that's my log entry for today :) Ron
