  1. As UPHILL3 suggests: Your PC gaming performance will also depend on cooling and your choice of Power Supplies. Tomshardware.com offers a few recommendations in the PSU area. HTH, RonM https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-psus,4229.html
  2. This is just one of many links that offer suggestions for laptops that can handle FS2020. HTH RonM https://www.windowscentral.com/best-gaming-laptops-microsoft-flight-simulator
  3. Just completed a flight down from Newport Muni KONP to Napa KAPC. Clear skies seems to track with live weather along the west coast. Saturday, 2:45PM California time. RonM
  4. Very happy with my Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS. Version V6/20. Default mapping at the moment. Ron M
  5. Sorry, I overlooked your comment above. I have no experience with the xbox hand controller itself (except for playing Forza Horizon 5 on my TV). I know it connects to a PC either through USB cable or Bluetooth. I assume this is your setup and you're using the xbox hand controller for flight control and not flight planning. You're using a keyboard and mouse for flight planning and navigation setup, correct? Regards, Ron
  6. The flight from KLWA to KBEH using the default Garmin G1000 Cessna 172 works fine here. I've added a screen shot of the G1000 PFD for an approach to KBEH. Maybe you can match up the details we see here. This may be rather simplified but, hopefully it's understandable. Flight level is 2000 feet, ATC is disabled. AP autopilot is engaged. There's a few operations that need to happen to get the GS activated and start your descent to the runway. Make sure you have your ILS/LOC frequencies set to active 108.50. I have this frequency set for both NAV 1 and NAV 2. When your approaching waypoint MALLY: Press the CDI button to engage LOC1 shaded in green. The G will change to a shade of green next to the altitude tape. Press the APR button You will know the glide slope is active when that little green diamond starts dropping next to the altitude tape. You can disengage the AP at about 500 feet elevation, your preference. Ron
  7. My trim buttons are assigned 6 and 9 by default.
  8. Depends on personal preference or what hardware you're using. I use the Keyboard END key to toggle between exterior and interior view. The HUD view is managed here: General>Camera>Chase Camera>Instrument Heads-Up Display (HUD) On/Off Ron
  9. A good visual check is to watch this gauge while cranking on your trim wheel. Set trim to zero before take off. Hope this helps. Ron
  10. Just for grins, I too planned a flight from KPIA to KMDW using World Map. Flight went fine. TBM 930. Waypoints using instrument approach procedure for KMDW rwy4R: kpia dulap wetev bdf motif minok alque baner cadon citgo oloxe kmdw
  11. HardCub: Just for reference: My SSD @ 1TB shows 611 GB free. And, this is with FS20 v1.18.15 .0, Photo Shop elements, a bunch of ham radio and astronomy apps installed. Note: My FS20 Custom Files includes only the TBM Liveries with 12 paint schemes. This may give you an idea what to expect with the 1TB upgrade. Curious as to what flight stick or flight controller you're using with the laptop?
  12. I'll try to answer first question. Are you using World Map for your flight plan, an example flight plan using the World Map is shown below. You can save your flight plan in the World Map menu by pressing save at the bottom or pressing Spacebar. Weather conditions and time of day can be discussed later. An example of where you flight plan is located is further shown, highlighted with red arrows. The top arrow is the file path: C:\Users\your name\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\localstate The file path ends with the file name of your choice, in this example, see second red arrow. This file is now instantly available for future use in other Garmin panels to name a few: Garmin GNS530 - Piper PA44 Seminole Garmin G1000 - Diamond DA62 Garmin G3000 - TBM 930 Once you have loaded your saved flight plan, now you can set weather conditions, time of day, etc. These conditions cannot be saved as part of your world map flight plan. Hope this helps.
  13. The default Garmin 3000 and flight sim main menu is used to program a flight plan for KCSG to KATL RWY 8L. Tune ILS LOC frequency 109.30 for runway 8L as shown below. The GS capture will be highlighted in green as shown on the Primary Flight Display PFD below. A good source for G3000 flight planning and ILS approach for MSFS here: Hope illustrations help.
  14. Just did a TBM930 flight from KCSG to KATL Atlanta, no problem. Used ILS LOC 109.3 for RWY 8L straight in. You might have to force your plan in world map to use 8L.
  15. World Map flight plans are saved by title name of your choice, in a file location here: C:\Users\name\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\localstate\kwvi ksmf.pln As noted in an earlier post, if you save the plan to file, it becomes instantly available for future use in other Garmin panels to name a few: Garmin GNS530 - Piper PA44 Seminole Garmin G1000 - Diamond DA62 Garmin G3000 - TBM 930 A few screen shots for reference:
  16. After you "create flight plan", open file>Export Flight Plan as MSFA 2020PLN...as shown in screen shots below.
  17. If I understand your question, I think if you save the plan to file, it becomes instantly available for future use in other Garmin panels to name a few: Garmin GNS530 - Piper PA44 Seminole Garmin G1000 - Diamond DA62 Garmin G3000 - TBM 930
  18. Once you've planned your flight using the world map, save it as example kwvi to ksmf. The path file will be located here: C:\Users/nameAppData\Local\Packages/Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\localstate\kwvi ksmf.pln Now you can load your saved plan directly into the g3000. Enter the ils loc freq for rwy 35L 111.1 into your nav radios. This is just one way of importing flight plans from external sources, into the g3000 and other Garmins. Hope this helps.
  19. FS2020 v 1.18.13.0 TBM 930, Cessna Longitude, Beechcraft King Air 350, etc. Every knob and function switch on the Mode Control Panel turns BLUE with a mouse over. Each knob or switch turns YELLOW with a mouse click and a drop down menu appears. Example screen capture below. This color scheme looks like it's related to an xbox controller. Is there a setting that enables PC control only?
  20. Off the Spain Mediterranean coast, Gibraltar to Palma de Mallorca. Cessna Citation Longitude. Flight path below for reference.
  21. If you are not using any companion flight plan applications such as Little NavMap, Skyvector or Simbrief then, flight plans can be changed using basic functionality of Garmin systems in FS2020. G1000: Cessna Skyhawk, Diamond DA... G3000: TBM 930 G5000: Cessna Citation Longitude To view what is in your flight plan such as waypoints by name: As far as I know, FS2020 flight plans are saved in text editor format as shown below. To view your plan, use this "path": C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\Missions\Custom\CustomFlight. When you click on your saved flight plan using the installed packages path above, a plain text file generated by FS2020 will open . Waypoints are listed as part of the flight plan "source code", see highlights. Hope this helps.
  22. Adak to King Salmon, Alaska. CJ4 at 25000. Flight time 2.5 hrs. This was a real bumpy ride with live weather enabled.
