  1. The reason they don't do a USB is because you then could change the files on a USB where you can't change files on a DVD. That simple. Chuck B Napamule
  2. Everyone is assuming it's FSX's fault. But for best results on a home built rig you MUST get the latest chip set drivers for your motherboard. You also should look at what programs are running in the background when you fly. You also need to get latest drivers for your video card. Then you must tweak the FSX.cfg. Then there is ram latency, type, etc. And I agree with 'lens flare', 'water effects', 'shadows' and 'weather'. The are all frame rate killers. Chuck B Napamule Edit: Oh. Try 1280x1024x32 res and see if it helps. BUT - FSX res should always MATCH your monitor 'native' res (for best 'performance' which = FPS).
  3. If you have Crash Detection turned off then you don't EVEN need the type 2 'CONTACT' pts (or, SCRAPES) and I routinely comment them out by placing '//' before [point.x]=2 lines. They tried to prevent it from tipping on it's tail by using the scrape point? HaHa. What they needed to do is 'fix' the bad reference point. Modelers don't know flight dynamics. So it's par for the course. No airplane should tip onto it's tail when loaded. If it does then something (can be a combination of wrong code or values - which - by the way - INTERACT) is absolutely wrong. You can also 'tame' the ailreon 'sensitivity' (also a 'model' problem?) by increasing the 'roll' moment of inertia value as a work around. Given enough time (week?) you can fix most airplane problems - if you know what to do. Chuck B Napamule
  4. I downloaded the Just Flight C-152 and on loading it was sitting on it's tail. Re-Loaded=same thing. So I took a look, made a couple of changes, and that fixed the 'tail strike' on load. Just Flight Cessna 152-F : FSX : 20July09 : Chuck B ('Napamule') ------------------ (Engine) --------------------------------------------------------------- Engine.0= 2.400, 0.000, 0.000 //Modified // //Engine.0 = -2.4, 0.0, 0.0 //Original --------------------- (Fuel) ---------------------------------------------------------------- LeftMain= -4.800, -4.400, -0.400, 12.000, 0.000 //Modified RightMain= -4.800, 4.400, -0.400, 12.000, 0.000 // //LeftMain= -7.800, -5.800, -0.800, 12.000, 0.000 //Original //RightMain= -7.800, 5.800, -0.800, 12.000, 0.000 ------------------ (Brakes) ----------------------------------------------------------------- differential_braking_scale= 0.800 Here is how it looked with light to mark the positions of fuel and engine.
  5. You can buy a Moller 400 on EBay right now for $1 Mil. Or buy one of these 4 from $94K to $150 K- Link: https://youtu.be/VRZNLBL7Px4. The Maveric LSA (sailplane) does not require a license. The PAL-V1 is a gyrocopter so is safer. Chuck B Napamule
  6. This model is very 'nice' (looking) but it had a lot of problems. It came out in July 2016. In March 2017 it had a 'revision'. In Sept 2017 it had a 'SP1' update that worked for some and trashed install for others and was abandoned. A problem was that with full braking it nosed over. Then with 'SP2' it 'fell out of the sky'. The 80 page manual had NO 'How To' on anything. Nothing - just hype. It was 433 Mb and $39.99 (varies). So you got took in my opinion. No support. No reply to emails. No 'good' answer on forums. Chuck B Napamule
  7. When you 'click anywhere on the vc' you are changing FOCUS from ATC 'window' to FltSim 'window'. This is normal so there is no 'fix'. No need. You just have to understand what is happening and to realize that that is the (only) way it is. So if you open another 'window' (left bracket) you will have to click anywhere on screen to switch 'FOCUS' from one to the other. You can zoom in/out in new window but need to switch FOCUS to main window so as to use zoom on that. OK? OK! Chuck B Napamule

    DNMM freeware

You are welcome. I Googled it and it only took 30 minutes and 8 different tabs until I finally found it. There were 2 others but dated 2006 and one 'ver1.1' so I skipped those. Sometimes you get lucky. Cheers. Chuck B Napamule

    DNMM freeware

Hard to find but I think this is what you might be looking for. DNMM (Los) Nigeria. It's at MediaFire and is 14 Mb, circa 2013. Link: http://download1492.mediafire.com/enaosn995wkg/qac9orkccc4bj1a/DNMM+Lagos+%28LOS%29.rar . Looks like it's clean (no virus) as I downloaded it and opened the zip file and did not get anything from my Avast anti virus. MediaFire files are ok (I have files there). Let us know if this is good scenery. Chuck B Napamule
  10. Yes the RV-9a is ONLY for FSX. It is not for FS9. No it's not the air file, it's a 'native' FSX model (MDL) so FS9 can't handle this type model, I guess. I don't know if it's GMax or FSDS either - they didn't say. At any rate it can't be 'fixed'. I believe there were payware FS9 models (RV-6, RV-7, RV-8) but I do not 'do' anything payware as I do not need them that bad and can live without them. Chuck B Napamule
  11. The original zip (2014) named 'rv-9a.zip', 1,864 kb, by Chuck Dome, did not need any fix and worked good in FSX. The later upload by JD Redding is 2 paints and I don't know what he changed in air file or cfg. Perhaps the line 'reference_datum_position= 0, 0, 0// 1.112,0.0,0.0' alone WOULD mess it up. Change to 'reference_datum_position=1.112, 0.000, 0.000'. THAT is VERY important. To further imporve it: (1). reduce the braking from '=2.5' to '=1.0' and add 'differential_braking_scale=0.8' to (Brakes) section. (2). add line 'WideViewAspect=True' to fsx cfg (Display) section (fixes panel view 'problem'). (3). change cnt pts line for (pt.0) to 'steerable' as opposed to 'freewheeling'. (4). KEEP the auto trim line - it works good. That's IT! go fly it an see. Chuck B Napamule
  12. Well I installed the original (2014) and it flys VERY well, auto trim included. The auto trim works good - I like it. There was no 'differential_braking_scale=' line. I added it and made it '=0.8' which is sufficient. I did switch to the steerable and with differential braking even the other option works ok (trick is to TAP, TAP, TAP the differential braking as you taxi/turn and not just hold it down). The Panels are fabulous. Nice job. I did nothing and the views were ok. The trick (I do believe) is to have 'WideViewAspect=True' in fsx cfg (Display) section. Someone said: 'if the real one flys like the fs one then WOW'. I second that. Very nice. I did find that all the files were 'BLOCKED' so went 'properties' and unblocked them all, just for kicks. I think this is a keeper. So there is only one or 2 things that need changed. Otherwise it is payware quality, especially when you throw in the 2d and VC panels! TBC. Chuck B Napamule
  13. Hey JD, This is a unique airplane. And as such, I will help you with the various things I see is not right. Not wrong, but not right. It can be a very nice airplane to fly low & slow. I was kidding about scraping it. I was going to work on it tonight. I just had to go play 9 ball at 4 pm (do it daily, 7 days a week, only missed 5 days in 2019). But I am back at 6 pm and will work on it tonight. Not sure why it crashed my FS9 and I tried several things but no luck. I got a different panel, etc. So it must be a model problem? I downloaded the original (2014 by Chuck Dome). It was never intended to work in FS9 so maybe you should give it up - it's for FSX only. My impression, of course. I looked for a RV-9 Vans for FS9, googled back to 2007, and I can not find one. There might be RV6 and RV7 somwhere but not RV9. Cheers. Chuck B Napamule
  14. I will crash your FS2004. The model can't be loaded. It will load ok in FSX Accel. But it is all messed up due to panel (get your own panel). The sound is aliased (get your own sound). The gear is 1.5 ft too far back so it's tail heavy. You have to change to steerable (pt.0) in cnt pts or steering is locked. Generally too messed up for me to work on being that it only flys at 118 kts. Flaps have no drag or lift. Must use 4.5 pitch trim to land, etc, etc. I buryied it out behind the barn 10 FEET DEEP (hehe). Chuck B Napamule
  15. You press 'Shift + E' together, then LET GO, and THEN you press 1, 2, etc.
  16. Thank you for the (great flying) compliment. Very nice model indeed, although I do have transparent textures but don't know why. I watched your Epic 1000 video. Nice video edits. It's X Plane isn't it? Chuck B Napmaule
  17. Helio H-295 Super Courier for me.
  18. The Bell 47 with Helo-Turbine ('HT') engines. GMax model by Jean M. Marmaz (circa 2008). FSX Native Conversion by George A. Arana. One super good looking model. Handles like a dream. Cruise is 145 kts (50% power). I added floats. YouTube Link: . Chuck B Napamule
  19. Catastrophic power supply failure alone won't trash your PC. What usually happens is you have a power surge due to lightning, etc. All you need is a surge protector power strip, which I have. Those people that fryed their PC more likely did NOT have a surge protector. The UPS is supposed to give you enough time to save VALUABLE files (ie: business forms, letters, etc). Your PC was probably OLD and that did not help because NEWER PCs circuits have SOME surge protection built in now a days. UPS is 'old school' IMHO. Chuck B Napamule
  20. You wrote: 'running x 2 g cards'. Does this mean that you have 2 video cards installed? SLI? I seem to remember someone saying it's detrimental to FSX to have 2 video cards installed and in SLI. Correct me if I am wrong. I also have THE i7 2600K, not overclocked, just turbo boost enabled for when needed, and I get 30 fps with FSX. But it took tweaking fsx cfg to keep it there. Best CPU EVER!!!!! 9 yrs old and still kicks butt. If I added ORBX scenery I would perhaps get 20 fps? So I CAN'T get ORBX. So when I want trees, hills, rivers, lakes and dirt strips I go to Montana, or Idaho and fly 'low & slow' there. There is enough free scenery (less hit on frames) for those states and to 'experience' that you will be 'over there' until the cows come home. I spent 2 yrs in Montana and Idaho (lost hard drive and scenery) but I am not done yet so I'm going back some day. Doing other stuff right now. But no hurry. I am retarded, errr, I mean retired, so I take is SLOW - NO STRESS. Chuck B Napamule
  21. Nothing is simple anymore when it comes to hardware -vs- software (ie: Win 10). I agree with everything you said except the UPS. Come on. If I was answering 1-800 customers then yeah. Otherwise not necessary. All you say is good and very true. Well done. Me? I get 30 fps in FSX with my rig and don't plan on getting a new PC just for FS2020. Homey don't play that game. I got plenty to do in FS9 and FSX to keep me busy for the next 5 years! Send me a picture of your experience with FS2020 and I will frame it and say it shows MY experience with FS2020 (hehe). Chuck B Napamule
  22. The original thread date was from 2016 (4 years ago). 'grtucker60' did not post anything in 2016. He just now posted to an old thread. :-)
  23. If they are not going to be available on Amazon, WalMart or Banggood, I won't buy them no matter what the price. But that's just me being me. It's better to be safe than sorry. Chuck B Napamule
  24. C-Tek has quit taking orders for this $699.99 set of controls as of June 2019. Wonder why?
  25. I would like to know how much ram you have, is your PC a laptop, is your HDrive 5400 or 7200 rpm, and WHAT do you do to change views (Locked Spot to 2D panel) - menu or keypresses? Chuck B Napamule
