  1. What this proves is that you can't 'willy-nilly' buy parts and slap them on an 'older' system. You have to go to a PC Shop, determine what CPU you want and go from there as to what PARTS (ie: specs) you NEED for it to be 'balanced' (ie: work properly) as a 'system'. Dual Channel ram for example. Not garage sale ram with every stick being different. They MUST be identical sticks ...or else! Clean uninstall of drivers is crucial. The latest drivers might not work. And if you let Win10 update your GPU driver you may get WORSE performance!! Do research as to what YEAR driver will work for your card and stick to that. Don't let Win10 ruin it for you. Might be 2017 drivers. You have to read up in order to prevail (ie: get CORRECT drivers to get good performance/FPS). So don't blame MSFS for your woes. It is not the 'problem'. Your (unbalanced) system specs are the 'problem'. Simple as that. Chuck B Napamule
  2. Hi, Well you can download model(s) and install in Flight Sim(s). Then you can then examine the model in sim. You can lift off ground with slew, then use keyboard/joy to view from all angles. Models by different modeler will be of different size/proportions, for your info. Files from FS2000, FS2002, FS2004, and even FSX can be loaded (but not 'flown') to look/compare. You can then do a 'print screen' to get you picture of each. Good luck. You can find a lot of material (ie: S39b) if you search the different flt sim sites (FltSim, Avsim, Simviation, etc - you might have to register). Google to find the other places and souces. Here is one file (here at FltSim) to get you started: s39bcap4.zip, 3 mb, 3-14-2004. See the 'Readme' for info. Chuck B Napamule
  3. I have been around computers longer than on flight simulators. I still have my Commadore 64 (works) in my closet. I had them all. But only in FS9 and FSX did they have vehicles. I then got hooked and concentrated on tweeking flight dynamics for vehicles. I bought my desktops from garage sales and GoodWill stores and put them together. In 2013 I got new parts and put together an i7 2600k, 3.6 ghz, that could handle FSX. I must of put in 8 years on vehicle flight dynamics and did it everyday 10 hrs a day/night. FSMS doesn't have vehicles (yet). I have bought an i9 9900k, up to 3.6 to 5.0, GTX 1080 Ti, 64 of ram, etc. Have not used it yet. Maybe next year will get FSMS and Win 10 Pro and try getting back into simming. But if there is not going to be any race cars (that can do REAL speeds) then I will sell the i9 and 'retire'. What is next? I play pool 1 hour every day (9 ball) and getting good after 3 years. I also paint with acrylics and do 'abstract' paints. I can go 'wild' and anything goes, plus it never gets boring. I am 81 yrs now so don't need no stress so avoiding FSMS until it's stable (if ever). Now Windows 11 is out. So will wait on THAT to get stable (if ever - hehe). Time for my nap. Chuck B Napamule
  4. Get 'iobitUninstaller' from iobit site (google it). This program will uninstall programs AND the registry files it installed (just put ck mark by 'Remove incidental files' option). You can also choose to create a restore point before uninstall. Nothing beats it. It's free too. It might nag you to upgrade but it will still work even if you say 'No Thanks'. You will never suffer or get stressed when all you want is to uninstall a program. It will list everything that is installed on your PC. It just works. Chuck B Napamule
  5. What a USB can do when plugged in is 'autorun' and install software, or a trojan, or a virus. YOU did not put any files in USB so you don't know what is or isn't there IF IT CAME FROM A 3rd PARTY (-via- Amazon, EBay, or other). Even if you first 'look' at what is there the BAD FILES can be hidden, or be 'activated' on plugging in USB and by then it's too late. I would never install ANYTHING from a USB with pre-install files. Send me a zip file in my email and we can talk. Otherwise - NO DICE on ANY USB 'soft' ware. You can't be too careful. AND - there is NO 'free lunch' on the net. None! Chuck B Napamule
  6. If you get Avast AV (Free) you can set it to not scan programs running in full screen (which I guess we all run FS in). Avast Free works better than a lot of payware anti virus programs. It also has 'Exclude' option for specific folders. And it's 'smart' enought to only update itself (in background) when PC is not 'working'. I never had any problems with it and it blocks effectively and seamlessly without any 'drama'. It will 'nag' you to buy 'Pro' version but it will not quit working if you choose to not buy. I love Avast Free. Chuck B Napamule
  7. I would recommend you get Win 10 Pro 64 bit. You will find it works better especially when you go to make changes. You can get a 2 yr old Dell i9 (3.5 to 4.5 Ghz) with SSD and 1tb HDrive (make it 7200 rpm) and nVidia card (with 4 HDMI for 4 monitors?) and Optical Drive (always good to have) for $1400 or so. Don't buy the 'Gaming PC' hype. That is old hat and pure marketing. A used Dell as described is plenty better than 'New' with marginal specs. Just my 2 cents. Chuck B Napamule
  8. Don't know how long you have had Win 10 but it being 'Pro' version allows you to turn off a lot of the stuff that is running in the background. All assessible via Control Panel and it's sub-menus. Other versions of Win 10 (ie: Home) is not so easy to make changes as you will have to do REGISTRY hacks - which is dangerous. Look for YouTube videos on how to make changes to Win 10 Pro. Or if you like reading here is a link with lots of Win 10 tips and tricks: https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/how-to-use-windows-10 . Most anti virus will allow you to NOT SCAN your simulator (when running) by including it in 'Exclusion' or 'Do Not Disturb' list. It's not safe to disable (or uninstall) your anti virus so NEVER do that. There are work arounds. Chuck B Napamule
  9. Try this: https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/fslib.php?do=copyright&fid=92149 It is an 'update' of the aircraft cfg (including contact points). You will notice the compression values have been changed as is the position of the nose gear. I don't have this model so can't test it for you. But the changes make sense to me. You can save your aircraft cfg BEFORE you make any changes. You can put '//' in front of lines of the (contact points) section (Sim will ignore anything after '//') and then copy the new contact point then paste to aircraft cfg - then do a SAVE and you are done. Go try. Let us know if this helped. Chuck B Napamule
  10. Oh, ok. VR headset. Got it. Sorry about the sour grapes. It IS and unusual video I must say. Maybe if the guy was wearing suit and tie I would have 'bought' it. Otherwise he might just be talking about his mother-in-law? Hehe. Chuck B
  11. Here is a pic of the 'best' settings for the joy sensitivities. Notice there is '0' dead zone(s). And you don't WANT more then 19% sens. Hope this helps. Chuck B Napamule
  12. AT Master (On/Off) = 'Z' key (toggle)...in case you are not in the cockpit and can't see the panel and switches.
  13. Howdy Neighbor, There is an optional setting in set up screen for 'Flight Time' or 'Real Time' in FSX. I assume MSFS has that option too? Have not flown FSX in 4 months so forget where exactly setting can be changed. I assume you have 'real' time and date set for your PC? That is what the real time will be. When you choose flight time you have choice of time of day (ie noon, 6pm, etc). Another way to set time to daytime is to set up your DEFAULT flight and before saving the 'flight' you set the 'time' for that flight. Then when you load your DEFAULT flight on MSFS start the time (of your flight) will be set by sim. Chuck B Napamule PS: I am also retarded...er, I mean retired ... and live in Salinas. I also have flown (a lot) to Watsonville and back in sim. I also use MBA (CA66) for amphibs and float planes (or...boats). Cheers.
  14. Maybe I would have to be on the 'inside' (re: 'SHOCKING - HP Marketing...) to know who/what/when about the video. After watching it, all I could see being 'parodied' was one drunk idot laughing about SOMETHING to another drunk idiot. I like fun videos - don't get me wrong. But WHO/WHAT/WHERE does 'HP' come in. Are they having production problems? Due to covid-19? Thus delivery of latest electronic equiptment is not going to happen? What electronic equiptment? (Am I supposed to 'know'). As far as I know HP does not do 'Pre-Sales' so that can't be it. Or is it? See. Don't make sense. Chuck B Napamule
  15. The text 'words' is not what the man was saying. His reaction was not even related to HP. Maybe you should of made it be related to Covid-19 vaccine shipments. Totally made up, so not a very good 'fool' video. It was 'funny' but not even close to being anything about anything 'real'. So what is the point? Don't make sense.
  16. Apprently in OZ you can drag a car from the junkyard up to, and into, your garage. I can picture the grove being torn into the ground/pavement by the body on your route. Not to mention the noise caused by chopping it in half. (Around here it would get you arrested for disturbing the peace). That would be more than i could handle and will just gladly settle for a working joystick. Cheesh! Chuck B Napamule
  17. To LEAVE the flight simulator scene that is... After 10+ years myself I am ready to LEAVE this mess. No support for 'legacy' Windows seals it! What with FS2020 and Windows 10 being required I have had it with M$ BS! I have the hardware but I detest how M$ now wants to invade your privacy (Win 10) because you want the latest version of FS. It came out half-baked - a big NO NO. Even today it needs 'updates' to even work half right. Where it ends we never can guess. XBox 'feature' is lurking. So all it takes is MONEY (apparently). I don't think I will miss anything. I have FS2004 and FSX Accel. If I buy FS2020 can I get my money back if it doesn't work (for whatever reason)? NO!! So thanks, but no thanks. Hasta la vista Baby! Chuck B Napamule
  18. I suspect my problem is with my browser (Comodo Ice Dragon). But it remembers other sites. New servers could possibly not like the 'dinasour' browser that I use. Get a 'new / modern' browser (60 mb compared to 3 mb) to 'fix'? Nah. A 'One Click' to log in is just not a big thing. Chuck B Napamule
  19. I have been around a ton of years, with several different versions of Windows and browsers, and I never had a problem until lately. My browser does not 'remember' (save) my log in info so i have to 'Log In' everytime I visit (which is just about every day). No biggee. I can cope. I imagine this 'new' way is designed to deter scammers and/or hackers. Sign of the times! Chuck B Napamule
  20. To 'move' the 'viewpoint' (of pilot's head (eyes)) you adjust the x,y,z in (Views) section of aircraft cfg. The (views) section relates specifically to the VC 'view'. So adjust the values, reload the ac while in VC view, check view, and repeat until you get it where it 'should' be. SAVE the aircraft cfg after each adjust. Reloading ac produces the result of adjustment(s). Chuck B Napamule
  21. It is not 'transferable' because it is licensed to what the check sums (ie: the individual hardware parts, and the serial numbers, that are produced by THAT PC, and that PC ONLY (and no other)). So essentially FSX is 'tied' to that specific PC due to it's specific parts. Attempting to install into any other PC will void the license. Chuck B Napamule
  22. I was wrong. I went to look at review and it was for a 3090. The 3070 is a very good card. Sorry. Chuck B Napamule
  23. I hate to bust your bubble but that 3070, and who made it, has 'problem' and has had bad reviews. The manufacturer(s) know the 'problem' but sell anyway and will not honor returns or do replacement. If you ask for a different card (or will cancel the order) you won't get one I bet. They just don't tell you everything ...it's SELL, SELL, SELL. Chuck B Napamule
  24. The AS365 Dauphin (Dolphin). Other helicopter models in this family include: AS565 Panther %u2013 the military version EC155 is the AS365 N4, with a larger cabin and Arriel 2 engines. HH65 Dolphin which is operated by the US Coast Guard.
  25. Here is a good, non-nonsense, video on that card. Link: . There must be a 1,000 videos on this card. Bad videos. I was fortunate to find this one. This gent knows what he is talking about and just does a complete run down with facts, not BS (like most other videos). This should give you the info you need (not 'want') in order to make an informed decision. Chuck B Napamule
