  1. You might consider this: I have been using a USB 10-Key Pad for 15 years and I fly GA, tubes, heavy mil, helicopters, race cars, ships, ufo's, etc, with it. Can't fly without it now! It has throttle (F1-F4) so combined with keyboard key presses I guess you COULD control individual engines. But, there is no getting around keypresses (no device has THAT many buttons-ha) so the keypad helps a LOT! Chuck B Napamule
  2. The fix for black vc: go into the 737-800 folder, copy everything that has something to do with the VC, and paste it into the KLM texture folder. Done. Chuck B Napamule
  3. You are having to do this because of Windows 10 and not FS9+Run As Admin. The solution would be to get Windows 7 64 bit. Or SET UP FS9 for Windows 10. You need to have updated to FS9.1 AND the NoCD exe. That combo, plus 'Run As Admin', will allow you to run FS9 in Full Screen with increased FPS (up to 500) and no issues with scenery or modules files being 'Locked'. Simple as that. Chuck B Napamule
  4. Model Zip File: 'sshor60.zip' -----------------Air File: - flaps positions=3 //SHOULD BE '=4' Section 1101: - Flaps Drag=164 //should be '=320' ----------------Aircraft.cfg: [Flaps.0] type= 1 span-outboard= 0.500 extending-time= 5.000 system_type= 0 damaging-speed= 250.000 blowout-speed= 300.000 lift_scalar= 1.000 drag_scalar= 1.000 pitch_scalar= 1.000 flaps-position.0= 0.000, 0.000 flaps-position.1= 9.000, 0.000 //o=5.000, 0.000 flaps-position.2= 29.000, 0.000 //o=15.000, 0.000 flaps-position.3= 49.000, 0.000 //o=30.000, 0.000 Now you should be able to land it at 120 kts with the stall warning coming on at 110 kts! Stall at 90 kts. Chuck B Napamule
  5. This is the 4th time I have read this post and at this point (4th of July) I figure you should just BLAST IT ALL and just go get you a new computer! Ha! Chuck B Napamule
  6. This? 'Laptop and the hub was using was USB 3.0 ( well hub was advertised as ) which is why I thought it would have worked first time round with the adapters, and hub was mains powered.' Sorry. Still wondering if the hub IS 3.0 ('advertised as'). And what does this mean: 'hub was mains powered'. What does 'mains powered' mean? Chuck B Napamule
  7. Did you notice that I emphasied: Your LAPTOP (or PC) HAS to have USB 3.0 for the multi-monitor setup to work. The Hub can't compensate if your lapto (or PC) only has USB 2.0 type ports. Minor point? No MAJOR point!! Why? Because USB 3.0 is TEN TIMES FASTER than USB 2.0!!! Simple as that. Chuck B Napamule
  8. Spillchecker? Really? If you understand what I was trying to say then that is all that matters. Yes there is no ref in SDK to '4' being 'splash' sound type. Try them on wheel cnt pts and land and see what sound you get. Splash sound! You (I) come in here to ADD to topic. Trying to be helpful is more important than being 'right'. If you don't agree with what I say-FINE! Just don't get personal because I post and you don't like being corrected. That's YOUR problem not mine. I don't think (no wait: I KNOW) Opa would not like your attitude. How's that? The cnt point are all wrong so a complete edit using the actual model is the only way to go. But the OP doesn't seem to want to discuss it. I sent 2 PM's to him and am getting nowhere. Too bad. I could of had them fixed already if he had emailed (Ziped) me the model and textures. I even told him I needed no credit if I did fix them. I hope he puts the model out soon. I am getting tired of waiting to get at it. I am not bragging, mind you. I just want to help. Have a nice 4th of July. See you next week. Be cool! Chuck B Napamule
  9. Look at my specs. I run FSX '''LOCKED''' at 30 fps (NOT UNLIMITED). But, Butt, Cigerette Butt I tweaked the FSX cfg or else it would not work as well. The i5 at 4.1 Ghz will do fine with sliders not all the way right. FSX is 1 core, 32 bit, and can't 'match' the new CPU's performance so it (FSX) is the bottleneck - not your CPU or GPU. OK? OK! My CPU throttles (turbo boost) from 3.5 ghz to 3.877 ghz so that helps too. The CPU 'K' means 'overclockable' so the BIOS does the speed changes. Does the i5 CPU have a 'k' at end of it? I, myself, would definitely get an 'overclockable' i5 and would NOT get an i5 that is not. Just me. Good luck. Chuck B Napamule
  10. I THINK the Plugable hub people do provide some software with their hub but am not positive. The critical point is: IT HAS TO BE USB 3.0 at the PC or Laptop. USB 3.0 is 10 times faster than USB 2.0. So the 50 min's would then only be 5 min's. And they used Win 7 64 bit which is also critcal. XP might not be able to handle this task where Win 7 64 bit can and will. Line up your ducks, like they say, BEFORE you 'plug them in' (hehe). And to be on the safe side, plug your hub to the wall socket and NOT to a power strip due to current demands. Chuck B Napamule
  11. It's irrelvent and makes NO DIFFERENCE for type 2 (scrapes) 'Impact Damage Treshold' if they are the same OR NOT. A crash (into object(s) is a crash. Apparently this are cnt pts for the (bottom) of the wheel wells. You (I?) could land wheels up and not crash if not 600 ft/sec. So not an issue. Will not effect floats either (the subject of this thread). If you are being 'picky' then why did you not note that the 'Sound Type' is '4' (which is 'water splash') and is deffinitely 'wrong' for type 2 cnt pts? Ah? Have a nice day. Chuck B Napamule
  12. Quote: 'Make sure you are set up properly for landing.' This means: correct speed, correct flaps, NAV radio(s) tuned to ILS freq, When & Where to disconnect AP (threshold? 1/4 mile out? You decide.). Then when you disconnect EVERYTHING AP (EVERYTHING!) then you are on your own and have to deal with cross wind, traffic on runway, land long?, when to deply spoilers, when to brake and, of course, landing on your main gear and not your nose wheel. The mouse won't help you here-you are the Captain and there are 200+ souls on board. #1 is getting them safe on the ground - by whatever means. Practice makes perfect. No guessing. No decision making at decision point - when in doubt: GO AROUND. Chuck B Napamule PS: the joystick on the right, at 45 degrees, and not on desk, allows you to work with other programs without having to move the joystick out of the way. SLAM BANG - THANK YOU MAAM! A bigger desk in pointless when joy is there, ready to use, 25/7, with '0' footprint on desk space. Think about it.
  13. If you can fly the Cessna, and the 747, then it's not a 'game'. It's a simulation (of reality). If you CAN'T fly a Cessna, or a 747, then it's a 'game' (no resemblence to 'real'). How's that. Like they say: 'LIFE IS A TRAGEDY FOR THOSE THE 'FEEL' AND A COMEDY FOR THOSE THAT 'THINK' !! They also say: 'MONEY TALKS, BS WALKS'. It's ALL about a DOLLAR$. Dawh! What else is 'new' (or 'real')? Chuck B Napamule
  14. If you go to YouTube and do a search you will find that you are not the first one what wants multiple monitors out of a laptop. There must be 100's of videos (200? 500?) on that subject. Here is one about 7 monitors on USB 3.0 laptop. Link: (right click this link and choose 'Open In A New Tab'). If this don't do it then I don't know what will. Perhaps the answer is to can the VGA monitors and get LCD or LED ones. Hope this helps. Chuck B Napamule Edit: The 'catch' is that is for USB 3.0!!! Cables and VGA adopters are extra of course. But it can handle it. Reviews say 'bought a $299 hub and returned it. Bought the Plugable and couldn't be happier - solved my problem'. 'Great value and it works perfect'. Etc. Oh, the hub is $29.99 at Amazon. Peanuts! Oh and you can charge your devices on USB #1 and #7. AND it has an ON/OFF switch!
  15. Oh, you don't ever have to use the mouse when landing I don't think. Your mouse had bottons? I have buttons on my joy for flaps and I use a USB 10 Key Pad ON THE LEFT SIDE of keyboard, and worked by my left hand - right hand stays on the joystick!) for throttle (F1-F4), spoiler, tailhook, pitch trim, snap to 2D panel, and view changes (A and S keys). I have my twist grip joy screwed to an old speaker (NOT on my desktop) which sits to my right at 45 degrees and always stays there. I fly everything with it and drive race cars (at LeMan4FSX track) with no problems at all. I also have a button on my joy mapped to 'Top Down' view which allows me to see the location of the runway even in inclemental weather as the 'Top Down' view will see right thru clouds or fog or smoke. Use my head (hehe). Chuck B Napamule
  16. The XML is tied to a guage, so it would be in the gauges cab, and would involve the AP. But I think that you should get the file below first: Chuck B Napamule
  17. Did the Truck Sim have VC panel (dashboard?)? If it didn't then that is probably the reason you didn't like it. Not 'real' enough due to no VC. And was it a 'game'? (I am being sarcastic - playing devil's advocate - and aimed at those that won't call Flt Sim a game and won't fly if they don't have a VC panel - HA!). Immersion is EVERYTHING 'they' say (on a laptop @ 2.6 Ghz and video card with 2 G of DDR3 Ram - HA!). And when it's all said and done they can't even land anything on the center line. Cheesh! Chuck B Napamule
  18. If it WAS going to be a 64 bit (and/or 'improved') FSX then they would have named it 'FS XI' and not 'FS2020'. So it's NOT an improved FSX. Dream on. 2020 refers to a YEAR and not a VERSION (NEW or otherwise) of anything! More like XBox for PC. How nice! Pay Pay Pay to Play Play Play. 'Boing'! Sorry to burst your bubble or ballon but that's the facts Ladies and Germs! Chuck B Napamule
  19. What you are trying to do is to have the AP land the C-5. You set Alt to Alt of the runway then hit Alt Hold and the AP is 'supposed' to land the C-5 (including when to 'rotate' (I think you meant FLAIR?) which is totally BOGUS. That is called ILS landing but not using Alt Hold but APR (Aproach). If your other airplanes do allow this then just change the C-5 panel to a panel from the 'other' airplane that 'works'. So it's the panel that causes AP to engage when you turn Alt Hold On. Not the C-5. The PANEL. It's a PANEL problem (due to gauge(s) and it's XML coding). You could edit the XML by finding where it says 'AP engages when Alt Hold is turned on=1' (or simular). As il88pp says. Do hand landings. There is where the 'cigar' is. Not just trying to let the AP do the landing. You joined the forum so we could 'solve' this 'problem' you having? You did not think about it logically, either. One gauge in panel giving you trouble and you want to re-design the simulator? Dump the C-5 panel and use a Boeing or simular panel - THAT is the 'real' solution. Maybe. Maybe not. Auto Land using Alt Hold? Give me a break!!! Chuck B l Napamule
  20. Quote: 'b. keep the nose aligned with the centerline withe rudder' He won't be able to do this if he has 'auto co-ordination' ticked. You need to un-tick this so you can use the rudder indipendently (without it affecting roll) IF you have a twist grip joystick. Doing cross wind landing with 'auto co-ordination' ticked ('on') is nearly impossible to do with the heavies because you can't do the 'crab' on approach. Having rudder with 'auto co-ordination' OFF is going to require you to use the rudder on turns to perform turna 'co-ordinated'. Then when on the ground use of rudder AND braking will allow you control any side slip more effectively. Chuck B Napamule Here is a short video of my cross landing 747 in FS9: https://youtu.be/vEAB9N4mzwY
  21. None of the default tubes have differential braking. The only ones that have it is the Goose and the DC3. When you land you can use rudder AND differential braking together to smooth out those 'occilations'. I add this to all my airplanes. Here is the line. Copy it and paste in under (Brakes) section, do File/Save. Done. Go try it. Chuck B Napamule Line: ''differential_braking_scale = 1.0 //Delta on the amount of brake when the rudder pedals deflected'' //(without the quotes)
  22. NOTHING stays a secret very long in the software business world. Stuff would of leaked out. Like: MS is hiring 100 coders for new Flt Sim. Did we 'hear' that? No. Why? Because MS is just plugging in their XBox in an inovative 'direction' (but same ole XBox) and FS2020 will require us to PAY to play. Not to mention the new hardware you will (probably) have to buy. I smell smoke! No thanks. Chuck B Napamule
  23. Scott, Looks like you have it made in the shade! Wow. Nice rig. Mine is a i7 2600K which throttles down when not being pushed (down to 1.6 Ghz) so it stays around 40 - 45 C. I build mine from parts suggested by a very savy owner of a small PC shop about 30 miles away. I drove there just to see. But I got such a good deal on everything I drove back the next day and loaded the whole shebang and put it together the next 2 days (and nights - hehe). I also was very careful. Used a lot of horse sense-that helps!. It's been 8 years and my rig still jams. 30 fps in FSX. I want a i7 7700K too. Soon I hope. But I won't do water cooling. It's overrated imho. Cooling using fans is my choice. And I leave my rig on 24/7. Only shut down to clean it every 6 mos or so. One thing I did is sand the CPU flat using fine grid sandpaper glued to a board. Same for the fan contact area. Then I spread an even coat of silver oxide (not a glob, or a 'bead', like they suggest) and torqued it down slow and evenly. Ah, the good times. Chuck B Napamule Edit: Oh, there is a LOT of static on a bed. Or the 'potential' (pun intended) for static. All I know is that there is a LOT on MY bed (hehe).
  24. You can connect the pins backwards ('-' and '+') and it won't 'hurt' anything. If it's 'backaswards' then the LED just doesn't light up. Then you just have to reverse the connections and then the LED will light up and you are done. Modern circuit boards have built-in protection in that a reverse polarity just gets ignored. Nothing more than that. The 'old' printed circuit boards would fry at even one tiny spark of static discharge. You still have to not get static discharge of course. But we have come a long way baby since the 70's. Chuck B Napamule
  25. Which 'amphibious' EH-101? Is it payware model? I can't seem to find a 'free' one. I can help with floats. Hey! Wait just one minute! Looking at floats I notice you don't have any compression values. So I imagine that is the 'real' (and only) reason it is crashing and nothing else is involved. Reduce the crash for floats to 2500 as that is plenty. Also scrapes to 8000. Try this: point.9= 4, 8.50, -9.5, 2.5, 2500, 0, 0, 0, 0.1, 4.5, 1.0, 0, 0, 4, 0, 0 point.10=4, 8.50, 9.5, 2.5, 2500, 0, 0, 0, 0.1, 4.5, 1.0, 0, 0, 4, 0, 0 point.11=4, -5.60, -9.5, 2.5, 2500, 0, 0, 0, 0.1, 4.5, 1.0, 0, 0, 4, 0, 0 point.12=4, -5.60, 9.5, 2.5, 2500, 0, 0, 0, 0.1, 4.5, 1.0, 0, 0, 4, 0, 0 //the '4' ('sound type') is water splash. That should do it. Let us know if this fixed it. Chuck B Napamule Edit: But, Butt, Cigerete Butt...When I get this model I am going to tweak it further to where the cnt pts (floats) match the pontoons. OK OK!
