  1. By pure curiosity and honestly as a real challenge, I created a very basic ground vehicle traffic. Needless to mention that is a tremendous work to get appropriated Afcad and a meticulous coordination of four flightplans. Even after hours and endless restarts, it isn't still perfect! As said in a fomer post, it would be a great improvment if the vehicles could stop at the aircraft. But what already is impossible for ship traffic, isn't neither possible here. Unless an invisible aircraft would cross the path and stop the vehicle, like two planes crossing on taxiways. Therefore I linked a TrafficViewBoard to the bus path, but it needs an absolute exact timing too. Up to now it remains without any result. Not the best, but the only choice! Anyway, I don't intend to create such ground traffic at each airport! Bernard
  2. An intermediated solution could be to let adding vehicles, objects and even passengers generated by the AI model file, like it will be done with CalClassic AI aircraft and their stairs. Such objects would appear as soon as the engines are shut down and disappear when engines are started up. At least this would enhance airport environment. Furthermore the objects wouldn't depend on a fixed schedule. Just curious that nobody has thought about such addons anyway. Several years ago I did this static scene. Of course, it makes only sense as long as the AI aircraft remains on the parking. Bernard
  3. Hi Hans, That's an interesting topic you raise here. Since a longer time I try to create a rather AI based animation. But it fails because no stops are possible. So far I haven't been able to do more than this. What do you mean by so called "dynamic" apron vehicles and how in your opinion that could be possible? Bernard
  4. It could be more pleasant with a suitable scenery background like this here: William Sander's Flushing scenery At least it would help to keep FS9 attractive too! Bernard
  5. Some FS2002 sceneries work quite well FS9, some not. It depenses how the scenery is created and structured. Mostly they appear rather rudimentarly. My experience ist that often trees aren't shown correctly. That's certainly due to missing the right textures. Anyway just try the Glasgow scenery and see whether it's ok for you! As long as the installation isn't using an EXE file, you might delete it with no consequences. In a way, flight simulation needs to be risky to get more from it! Bernard
  6. Check whether traffic slider is at 100 percent.
  7. As you're successfully using the Everthing tool, you should search for 'traffic bgl'. If you don't get any results, it means that you haven't create any AI traffic. Anyway, you should be more precisely about what you have done up to now. Otherwise nobody would be able to support you with helpful advices. Bernard
  8. Appdata is the straw to which one can still clutch! A good and helpful choice anyway. But don't forget doing a backup, it could be very useful next tme. Bernard
  9. There is a searching tool named "Everything". Install it and it will literally find everything in your system. BTW, I would highly recommand to evrybody to do regularly special backups of the actual scenery.cfg. It's just a well-intentioned advice! Bernard
  10. That indeed would improve the already tarnished reputation of the FS9!
  11. Hi Hans, Certainly Tom's terrain.cfg has been modified. I compared it with a default file, but couldn't find any substantial changes. Maybe Tom will be able to give you more informations. He does frequently posts here. I hardly can imagine placing excluding rectangles in the whole world! Bernard
  12. So do you think I have to reinstall them in my GW3 again?:( Bernard
  13. Have a look here: http://www.calclassic.com/files/Calclassic_Pole_Removal.zip Bernard
  14. Everyone is certainly free to publish their screenshots as they wish. However, it would be desirable if the posts represent real information values. Because FS9 in particular is exposed to an outrageous cut-throat competition, sometimes even 'demonization'. One should not unintentionally encourage these tendencies. We should do everything to keep FS9 alive and still interesting and fascinating! Bernard
  15. What kind of FS are you using? There are almost no buildings and landmarks. I noticed that in your other screenshots too. Would be a perfect vintage environment! Bernard
  16. Hi Paul, Yes, I indeed began some few years ago to create the heroic flight as an AI traffic. For each stop I did quadruple seaplane Afcad. Then I got as far as Hong Kong. Here the four Douglas World Cruiser at Sand Point, Seattle Despite of separate Afcad for each aircraft and the same flightplans, they aren't able to stay grouped together. Given the extremely long journey, it isn't possible to program this as a continuous AI flight. Therefore, they only complete pattern flights at the various stopovers. Bernard
  17. Thanks for the advice. I know the Ford tri motor site since a longer time. I once installed all repaints as AI static traffic, there are 369 here! The wish should always be that the few remaining interested parties at least occasionally come up with small suggestions as to how GW3 could still be run in an interesting way. I tried this fictional air show at Capital Airfield, Springfield IL. Lastivka mentioned the interesting site with historical flights. It indeed is a welcomed source of ideas for reconstructing special vintage flights. However, several airfields have to be redesigned in order to replace the default ones. BTW, not all flights listed are true to historical facts. For example, the flight '1933 Western Air Express' is scheduled to fly to Kennedy Airport and Chicago O'Hare. But then these were just ordinary agricultural fields! Bernard
  18. The airport is kown as Cologne-Bonn EDDK. Maybe searching with the right name, you will be more successful.
  19. You might search for the lists of aircraft manufacturers. Some are also Russian, Brazilian, Chinese and so on.
  20. this carrier has probably in favour of ones for the damn FSX. Here the Essex itself at SOH too. VN_CV-16.zip
  21. So simply search for 'Oriksany' at SOH.
  22. You eventually should read this: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php/128215-How-To-quot-Retro-quot-FSX-Initial-Attempts Especially the part about APX files. These are FSX files. For FS9 they are known as AP.... I think the author isn't that stupid. Bernard
  23. It isn't scary at all. If you first backup Scenery folder, there will be no risk to try. It's just a matter of willing to get the default airports out or not. Sometimes unconventional methods could be successful. I'm more concerned about reducing or replacing high buildings. Eventually it might be a question of suitable textures. But which ones? Bernard
  24. At least you might copy all AP9xxxxx.bgl files in the main Scenery folder in a backup folder. Afterwards delete them completely. So all Afcads will disappear. I reactivate the backup folder to backdate needed airports. But doing this way, the default airport buildings will not be deleted. For this purpose you should use ExcBuilder. It mainly concerns the larger airports which aren't removed by GW3. I wouldn't delete the AB9xxxxx.bgl files as they generate the airport ground textures which eventually should still be used while backdating as airfields. Airports buildings are generated by the OB9xxxxxbgl files. These generate also landclass buildings like f.i. the Empire State. I don't think you would like to have them gone. Bernard
