  1. I decided to jump back into the cockpit of the a32nx after a few months away. I flew JetBlue from Boston to Bermuda in the sim a few months ago, and it was finally time to do the return leg. The weather leaving Bermuda was listed as thunderstorms in the vicinity, but Boston's weather was supposed to be just a few clouds. It turns out the weather along the east coast of the US and into Boston produced the most stunning visuals to date. It was actually hard to decide which pictures to post, so for the first time I'm going to have a two part post to show off the pictures. Here we go! Passengers getting ready to load up as the thunder rumbles in the distance and light rain begins to fall Taxiing out to the runway, and it looks like we're going to beat the storms out of here Climbing out of Bermuda about to head out over the open water for the next two hours Leveled off at FL380 with nothing but clouds as far as we can see Pretty amazing views up here today One more from the flight deck as we begin preparation for our descent A thick cloud layer is still in place as we begin to descend into Boston One more view of the setting sun before we head into the clouds PART 1 OF 2, CHECK THE REPLY FOR MORE PHOTOS
  2. It's been a few months since I've been able to get in a flight, but it's time to shake off the rust and get back in the cockpit. I have been incredibly busy with real life obligations, but it's starting to finally wind down, so I had some time to sneak in a short hop from Orlando Executive to Nassau in the Bahamas. The improvements that have been made to the G3000/5000 by the Working Title team are really impressive, and it's making the Longitude better and better to fly. Here we go! Going through the start up procedures on the ramp in Orlando. We were scheduled for an 8am departure, but the passengers were here and loaded up about ten minutes early. Taxiing out from the busy Orlando Executive ramp Lined up on runway 25 ready to head out for our 50 minute flight to Nassau See ya later Orlando! Some clouds have settled in as we fly over Palm Beach and the eastern coast of Florida Just in case there was any question as to what we were flying today A few Bahama Islands and the famous blue water starting to come into view as we begin our descent This area is such an awesome place to fly in MSFS On final for runway 14, I'm about to see how rusty I really am after not flying for two months. These passengers have no idea what they're in for... Alright, so maybe I wasn't THAT rusty, we touched down at -131FPM. Welcome to Nassau! Thanks for viewing! I have one more busy stretch coming up here, but hopefully within a few weeks I'll be back in the virtual skies again.
  3. Thanks! It's actually MSFS, not FSX. If I had my FSX looking like that I would have had an OOM crash within ten seconds, lol! Thanks, John! That's an interesting thought, but I guess as long as the communication is being done there is nothing to worry about.
  4. Thanks, Larry! My concern on using an image hosting site is exactly what you mentioned, the site goes down or the images go away for whatever reason and the post is done. I'll probably wind up using both still going forward.
  5. Great shots, John! Jackson Hole is one of my favorite sim destinations.
  6. *Quick Note: I'm posting my images from an image hosting site for the first time in hopes that they are a bit bigger and easier to view. Let me know if I should keep doing it this way or stick to hosting through Flightsim.com It's time to get out of the Airbus and back into the business jets for a few flights. After dropping off our passengers, today's flight takes us from a 4,000' runway at Sandy Point in the Bahamas back to our home base at Orlando Executive Airport. Coming into Sandy Point was a lot of fun, we shot a visual approach on a perfect day and I regretted not getting screenshots, but thankfully the departure was just as good! The landing into Orlando was pretty tough, the wind was gusting around 30kts, so I didn't get any shots of the landing. Let's go! Our passengers are on their way to enjoy their vacation, but unfortunately we're not staying, so after grabbing some fuel we're getting the preflight done so we can head right back out Even though it's a simulator, back taxiing at an uncontrolled field still makes me uneasy. I can't imagine how a real pilot feels It was a 4,000' runway, and according to our weight and performance calculations, we needed about 2,600' to takeoff. Looks like our calculations were spot on! Getting one last view of Sandy Point on our climb out Cruising at FL330 over Freeport About 35 minutes into the flight the coast of Florida is already coming into view Beginning our descent into Orlando over the Vero Beach area Continuing on the GOOFY7 arrival and nearing the Orlando area Getting ready to make our turn towards runway 25 at Orlando Executive I need to work on my crosswind landings a bit, but we made it back to Orlando in one piece Thanks for viewing!
  7. I may have mentioned this before, but one of the things I enjoy most about MSFS is the scenery looks and feels very real. In previous sims, whether you were landing in Miami or landing in London, it all felt the same. Perhaps the roads were different, maybe the water was a different shade of blue, but otherwise the autogen made it all feel similar. Now with MSFS, seeing new areas and new things is actually a lot of fun, which brings us to our flight today! As of a few days ago I had never heard of Palma. Located on the southern coast of Mallorca on the Bay of Palma, it is the capital and largest city of the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands in Spain. It also looks really good in the sim! Today's flight takes us from an overcast Manchester to Palma aboard an EasyJet a320neo. Let's get going! Pushing back on a cloudy morning in Manchester On the takeoff roll on runway 23L getting ready to blast out of Manchester We didn't get much time to enjoy the view of Manchester before climbing into the overcast layer It didn't take long before we were crossing the English Channel with the northern coast of France coming into view Cruising along at FL370 with Barcelona off our right wing about to head out into the Balearic Sea Descending into Palma and starting to get a glimpse of what the approach and landing has in store for us The view from the flightdeck. We had to level off at 5000' to ensure we cleared these mountains Passenger view during our final descent. We had to lose 3000' of altitude within a few miles immediately after clearing those mountains, so the speedbrakes were deployed to help keep the speed down Turning towards the airport On final for runway 06L Welcome to Palma! This was a really fun flight! The aircraft performed well (thanks FBW!) and the views were incredible. Thanks for viewing!
  8. Thanks, Bill! I haven't been to Bermuda yet, but one of the surprising things to me is just how close it is to the Northeast portion of the US. The flight from Boston was the same distance as a flight from Boston to Charlotte would be. I always assumed it was further.
  9. My computer handles MSFS very well! I built it right around the time the new RTX cards were dropping, and I anticipated that it would be impossible to get one for some time so I went with the RTX 2060 as a "placeholder". However, it has done an awesome job handling any game I've played so I'm not upgrading anytime soon. I did a lot of research on AMD CPU's and NVidia GPU's being in the same system before buying, and it seems the days of there being issues with the two working together are gone. I've had no issues at all with either one slowing the other down. I run MSFS on high settings, and a few ultra settings including clouds, and I probably average around 40+ FPS. I sometimes also run REX Weather, PACX, and an ACARS program in the background in addition to MSFS, and it still does fine. The 32 gigs of RAM helps too.
  10. I mentioned in my last post that I attempted a JetBlue flight to the Bahamas but just ran out of steam and quit before getting there. Last night I finally got in a JetBlue flight, this time to Bermuda which was a bit shorter than going to Nassau. The story of this flight was the wind. It was windy in Boston, we had a really strong tailwind which got us to Bermuda early, and the wind in Bermuda caused me to have my most firm touchdown in a long time. It's also worth noting that I'm not a fan of this apparently off white JetBlue livery, but otherwise it was a fun flight. JetBlue 203 from Boston to Bermuda, here we go! Catering is done, fuel is loaded and the bags are on. Just waiting for the last of the passengers to load up and then we're heading for Bermuda The pushback tug is heading back to the gate area as we run through the after start checklist "JetBlue 203, Boston Tower, winds are 310 at 13 gusting to 23, runway 33 left, cleared for takeoff" We got a great view of the city while climbing out of Boston Passing Nantucket which will be the last bit of land we see until reaching Bermuda Like I said, the tailwind was pretty strong. It actually reached 179kt at one point later on in the flight. The weather was not great on our descent into Bermuda. Low clouds, rain and wind. The island of Bermuda coming into view as we come out of the rain. Bonus rainbow thrown in there as well! Turning to intercept the localizer for runway 30 Winds were 320 at 25kt gusting to 35kt, and although I put it on the centerline, it was a bit of a firm landing (399 fpm) "JetBlue would like to welcome you to Bermuda! We hope you enjoy your stay once your backs start feeling better from that landing!" Thanks for viewing!
  11. The third one looked a lot better before I cropped it, but you’re right it’s pretty grainy now. If I ever decide to edit pics in the future I’ll probably devote more than five minutes to it.
  12. I started a JetBlue flight last night from Boston to Nassau, but unfortunately I was too tired to make it the entire flight so I quit about halfway through. I had already taken some screenshots and didn't want them to go to waste, so I decided to edit a few of them using Lightroom to see how they would turn out. I've been editing real aviation photos in Lightroom for a few months, but this is my first shot at flight sim pics, so let me know what you think. Keep in mind I spent about five minutes on each one so they're far from perfect, the third one is really far from perfect but it's a cool angle, however I thought the edits added some good quality to the pictures so figured I would share. JetBlue 909 to departing Boston
  13. I had an issue with a few of the instruments not displaying after the update as well. I noticed there was an a32nx file in my Packages folder that was separate from the a32nx file in my Community folder. I deleted that file, as well as the one in my Community folder and then reinstalled the FBW mod from the installer. That solved the issue for me.
