I'm sure most people know at this point, but MSFS added snow textures. I've been hoping to check them out for the last week but haven't had much luck using live weather. My next Frontier Flight I had scheduled through A Pilot's Life was from Denver to Calgary, and as luck would have it there was light snow passing through Denver at the start of the flight so the snow textures were on full display. The weather in Calgary was cold, but otherwise it was partly cloudy skies and calm winds. The ramp agents battling the elements getting the aircraft ready for departure The passengers on the other hand get to enjoy the warm terminal while they wait to board The snow was short lived and by the time we were taxiing to the runway it had cleared up Holding short of 35L waiting on our takeoff clearance We're out, see ya Denver! Passengers enjoying the view on the climb out Cruising at FL360 passing Bozeman, Montana Descending into Calgary Speed brakes are out trying to slow this thing down On final for runway 29 Welcome to Calgary! Today's flight in the Longitude takes us from an early morning departure in Orlando to a stormy (and incredible looking) arrival into Exuma Island in the Bahamas. All five passengers are on board at Orlando Executive, we have our clearance and we're ready to roll Lining up on runway 25 The sun rises over the horizon as we near the east coast of Florida Passing Freeport Cruising over Nassau at FL370. We're actually already nearing our TOD on this quick one hour flight I only checked one place for weather in Exuma and it wasn't updated, so these storm clouds were a bit of a surprise We descended through some precip but quickly emerged only to find we had to turn right back towards the storm. Also catching my first glimpse of a rainbow in MSFS, but more to come! This was the most incredible visual I've ever seen in a flight simulator. Double rainbows, rain has overtaken the field but the sun is still shinning on my aircraft on short final, just amazing stuff! I somehow managed to stay focused enough to give our five passengers a fairly smooth landing into a rainy Exuma Island At the end of the rainbow is a Citation Longitude, which at a cost of 26 million dollars is probably more valuable than a pot of gold anyway Thanks for viewing!

One of the things MSFS does out-of-the-box better than any sim to date is their default airports. They may not all be accurate in terms of gate numbers and taxiways, but they usually look really nice. I'm coming from FSX where some major airports didn't even have gates with the default scenery, so this is a huge step up from those days. I don't imagine I'll be buying many add-on airports, but I made an exception for the Flight Beam Denver scenery, and I am not disappointed. My first flight out was an early morning departure operating as FFT 383 with a 1.5 hour trip to El Paso. Sometimes the pictures tell the story, so no captions needed on this post.

Great shots! The clouds really give it that cold winter afternoon look.

Today we are taking a few charter passengers back to Orlando Executive from Marathon Key in the Baron 58. I flew the leg down a few days ago and it was uneventful. For this leg the weather was clear in both locations and throughout the flight with the exception of a few small clouds. Here we go! My first screenshot post on the FlightSim forums was an EasyJet flight from London Gatwick to Keflavik, so consider this a little bit of nostalgia for me. I mentioned then that it was my first flight in Europe, and here we are several months later and I'm just now doing my third flight in Europe. One of the great things about MSFS is it does a fantastic job recreating the world, so flying to new destinations in different parts of the world is all that more enjoyable. Today we are operating EasyJet flight 8997 from London Gatwick to Prague in the Czech Republic. With the FlybyWire Mod, and the recent fixes to the autopilot system, the a320neo is really a lot of fun to fly. Getting loaded up at the gate as we prepare for our 8am departure from Gatwick Pushing back right on time. Unfortunately the same can't be said about our arrival Taxiing out to the runway and catching a nice view of the early morning sun over the terminal Climbing out of Gatwick on what turned out to be a very nice morning Still climbing as we're about to cross over the North Sea Cruising at FL330 somewhere over Germany The flight crew taking advantage of EasyJet's new casual Friday policy Descending into the Czech Republic Circling to get lined up with the ILS and enjoying the view Fully configured for landing as we approach runway 6 Ten minutes late to the gate but it's EasyJet so what do you expect? Welcome to Prague!

This flight is the first leg of what will be multiple stops throughout the country in the Longitude (not sure if I'll post screenshots of them all). For this leg we have a 7am departure out of a stormy Northeast Philadelphia as we head to Chicago Midway. Even with battling a strong headwind, with the speed of the Longitude we were able to land in Chicago in one hour and forty minutes. Pulling off the ramp heading towards the runway as the rain begins to lighten up Lined up on runway 24 as the sun begins to rise. Unfortunately I suffer from the grainy reflections from time to time as you can see in this picture Climbing away from the clouds as we cross through central Pennsylvania Unfortunately that cloud layer wasn't gone long and was with us for the remainder of the flight Cruising at FL430 Speed brakes out as we descend on the PANGG 3 arrival Breaking through the cloud layer. This is the first glimpse of snow covered ground I've seen in MSFS so I was pretty hyped Short final for 31C with a nice view of downtown Chicago in the background Good morning from the Windy City! I've been dealing with some graphics issues over the last few weeks with MSFS, some caused by a slow connection to my Wifi, and some due to changes I made in the NVidia Control Panel. This caused the game to look terrible and the screenshots even worse. Both have now been sorted out and the sim is looking better than ever! What hasn't been great is the performance of the Citation Longitude since the launch of MSFS. This is an aircraft I figured I would spend a lot of time in as soon as I got the sim installed, but it has been perhaps the most bugged aircraft in the sim since launch. The good news is between patches from Asobo, as well as a few mods, it now flies very smooth and is a ton of fun! Here are a few random shots from my test flights over the last few days, including some evening shots on my repositioning flight from PBI to Miami. Thanks for viewing!

I saw your post with your flight going to Nantucket too when I signed in to post my pics, lol! I agree, the icing does look really cool, just annoying that you basically have to turn all of your anti-ice on before taking off almost every time.

I haven't been doing a lot of flying lately, so It's been a few weeks since I've posted anything, but I did a nice flight this evening from Northeast Philadelphia to Nantucket in the TBM 930. Flight time today was just over one hour, and while the weather in the Philly area wasn't great, it improved some as the flight went on. Onto the pics! Heading out to runway 6 at PNE as the sun tries to shine through the high cloud deck Getting one last view of the Philly area as we enter the cloud layer that we would remain in for a while Flying through the clouds and picking up some icing The radar showing the weather we came through leaving Philadelphia Cruising at FL210. One could argue the icing in MSFS is slightly exaggerated... Descending into Nantucket Visual conditions, but we flew the ILS approach to minimums for practice Short final for runway 6. Disregard the ATC subtitle, that got stuck on the screen for some reason. On a good note, this is the first flight I was able to use ATC for the full flight without it bugging out Welcome to Nantucket! That's it for now.
