  1. sounds like a 100 piece puzzle with only 2 pieces provided..................?
  2. Make a difference between: 'downloading' , 'installing' and 'launching'... How did you 'uninstall' the game from the 'Icon'? Is the game still visible under 'Windows Startmenu' as 'Microsoft Flight Simulator' https://www.oreilly.com/library/view/windows-10-the/9781491948286/ch01.html ? Are the 110+ 'Asobo, FS base , etc folders still present in your Installation folder? Is the program still present under: [Name\AppData\Local\Packages\ MicrosoftFlightSimulator8WKY....etc.? Maybe you can try to go back to an earlier 'Windows restore point' Now I have a XBOX Gamepass version, but I know from my FSX Steam that Steam has a FSX Program Integrity Check option for FSX. Don't know if Steam or Microsoft) have that for MSFS also. regards Peter
  3. I've never seen this in my FS9, some coordinates could help? Did you reinstall FS9 from scratch or did you just restarted it? What, if any, mesh do you use? Again, imho, best is to install (any)flightsim anywhere outside C:\program files(). mine: C:\FS9 - FSGlobal mesh - ULT Terr. USA EUR CAN AK - FSxeneX +/- 100 diff addons
  4. It's always optimistic to read a message in another language. You have well expressed your experience with the new FSMS. I find that 'flightsim' needs to stimulate participation from all different 'simulators' so that we can all benefit from our knowledge of our 'sims' and our colleagues. I would like all 'posts' with an ill-intentioned vibe to people with an 'other' opinion to stop. I am Dutch by birth and respect everyone ............ (no matter how we fly let's all respect each other....')
  5. hello, b52bob, I have same intention buying new M2 1 TB SSD. My FSX SE is now on my old SATA 500GB SSD. I certainly do not look forward to 'uninstalling' all my FSX SE and some 20 add-ons from the old SSD and reinstalling them again on the new SSD. I certainly dare not to do it by means of 'copy and paiste'. I would appreciate if you could give a short 'how to do it ....' and found the programs can be moved to a new drive with only three or four clicks. thanks for yr help, regards Peter
  6. Funny: Never could find it for FSX, can you give the FSX filename? Try: Little Nav Map, it's free , 80% similar to FSNav , Excellent Flight planning, No [F9] shortcut , better file-management, better print options. I have it in FSX SE, getting used to it took me 1 hr........
  7. 'i got just one simulator in right now.........' which simulator is that then and where (inside or outside C:\Program Files X86) do you have it? If you install a MSFT simulator it will by default (unless changed in the WIN registry) install in C:\Program Files X86. If you want your Flightsim installed somewhere else then first create the desired Installation Folder manually by pointing your mouse in the 'Root directory' could be the first level in the 'partition' and then 'rightclick'. A small menu appears with the 'New' option, click it and 'type' only the desired name. The folder will be created and after that when installing your Flightsim you can change the default Program Files X86 location and browse to your manually created 'Folder'. Doubleclick usually sets it. I have installed all my 'Sims' in my 'G:\' partition and they all work perfect, (however still saving for a new MB and m2 SSD)
  8. Where do you have these 'scores' then? How did you try to 'transfer' them to Documents? In Win 'Explorer' you are able to copy and paste any file (not System) from and to whatever destination incl.: /Documents/Flight Simulator X Files Do you see them in Win Explorer/Documents/Flight Simulator X Files? So in FSX running when you press: [Flights] - [Flightplanner] - [Load] do you see them in the selection screen? If not then they're not valid FSX.PLN files.
  9. Congrats with your new 'rig...' My (present) system can best be compared with 'quicksand': I5 6700 , GTX1050 , 16GB2000mhz , MSFS on 'overcrowded' HDD . I fly MSFS on a 'minimal' basis and even enjoy that, I get a glimpse of it's potential. So I have to safe some cash first (1 year term) and hope that hardware with the specs that are required now will be cheaper then (GTX 3... series) What remains a miracle is that I donwloaded it aug 18th,installed it sameday, used it everyday since but I have never ever had one single CTD ..................???
  10. hi Mr Kilowatt , me too I got MSFS through XBox Game-pass Paid $1 in august and $4 in september. My interpretation of the 'XBox deal' is that you can keep playing MSFS (only Standard version !!) as long as you keep an active and valid subscription on XBox. Now I could be wrong here. Please where do you see (on Microsoft or Xbox sites) if and when the subscription will be cancelled and eventually you will pay full price if you not stop the subscription yourself. thanks in advance for an advice. Peter

  12. Don't worry.... Had the same last year (2 cataracts), after that my FSX looked like a $ 1.000,00 hardware upgrade...............
  13. \\\MSFS(*)\Official\One Store.......... (*)I installed my MSFS from XBox Game Pass, I created the MSFS folder myself of my SSD Root and pointed the XBox installer to that folder. The download and Install in that folder took 5 hrs. When completed I created the Desktop Shortcut myself, I double-clicked and after a few minutes of further (auto) un-packing and installing MSFS started up. so I have: C:\MSFS\Official\OneStore which contains 154 folders (all auto-created) the first 127 being Asobo aircraft folders which contain further folders more or less structured like FSX Simobjects. Further down the path you will find the Asobo\Aircraft folder which contains the 'aircraft.cfg' folder.
  14. Best (freeware) add-on's I ever installed were FS9 Glacier Bay and Tongass Fjords. Best Plane: Dash 7 project. Have never been there, will never go there, will never fly it , but they made me a very happy simmer for many years..................
  15. I cannot understand why people turn away from MSFS so soon after its release. Listen, I got my MSFS from XBOX game-pass , I only pay $5,00 per month and I can try it out, more important I can stay in touch with all patches released and the 'knowledge' base that is increasing by the day. My setup: I7 6700k , GTX1050TI4 , 16GB RAM2000mhz, As my SATA SSD 500GB is full with FSX I run MSFS from old Samsung HD. I fly MSFS only with KB and Mouse. So the 'foundation' for my MSFS is slightly more than 'a worst case scenario' but I still enjoy my limited setup. I'm retired married with (grand)kids so budget is (very) limited but I plan to save at least $100 a month which I hope will give me $1000 in only 10 months. Exact PC update is still open but new MB, RAM and SSD will be the first I guess. In the mean time I very much enjoy my FSX SE , Flyaway Mesh (free) - UTX USA, EUR, CAN, AK, TAC and FSceneX. MSFS is a great promise but imo. does not justify any stress what so ever. happy flying............... Peter
  16. did not understand 1 word he was saying, it was about eliminating the red portion in the upper right performance box but from start to finish the red part of the box was present.......................? I run MSFS from a crowded HDD, my SSD is filled with FSX and that runs just smooth with all maxed out. (except biggest of airports) I got MSFS from day 1 from XBOX (pay $5 a month) Funny thing is that no matter how disabled my MSFS works I've never had a CTD since that day. (All settings on low or medium) I'm happy regards Peter I7 6700k GTX1050TI4 16G-DDR4 SSD500(with FSX) HD 1TB
  17. Would like to try this out, but this update is pointing to itself (HIDRNGU.ZIP) , what's the name of the original file ?

  19. Where is a time machine when you need one.........?
  20. To me flying FSX with KB/mouse only feels completely natural, trying a yoke left me in a learning curve that was 'to steep to climb.....' Is there not 1 beta / demo user in the whole wide MSFS world prepared to try it without his 'throyoke' connected and share some thoughts?
  21. Funny how I posted same question 2 days ago!! and got no reactions, but I am happy to see that more people are posting same question. What I mean is: if I have to choose between a joystick with a B747 jumping up and down, left and right like a mini 'cub' and a keyboard where I can make my planes maneuvre with extreem subtile movements and make most beautiful flared dead centre landings I'd pick the KB. My manual (kb)landings in spot view are mostly indistinguishable (attitude, speed, flare) from you tube clips, either C172 or B777. I respect everybodies setup it's just I have no room nor cash for any further peripherals. So could someone (tester or demo flyer) give some answer if the new MSFS can be flown with KB/mouse only and if possible some insight on how it performs as such? many thanks for any reaction......................... Peter https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/content.php?21037-Flight-Simulator-2020-First-Impressions&page=2#comments Been simming since FS4 (3 1/2 disc) , now FSX SE works '8' on '10 scale' I have no room whatsoever on my desktop for anything more than a KB/mouse and Screen(my PC is on the floor). Can anyone tell if MSFS can be played with KB and mouse only? How elaborate are options in MSFS to assign actions to keys (if at all) as in FSX? thanks in advance ! - I7 6700K - GTX1050TI4G - 16GDDR4 - SSD 500G
  22. I do not want to sound like 'a smart *ss' but I would say : go to 'Steam' and have the latest upgraded FSX running in WIN10 in maybe 30 min. No keycodes, runtimes, Frameworks, authorizations, nothing of that. Only in case you decide to go 'Steam' make really sure you first uninstall, delete, remove all visible and hidden traces of previous FSX installments WIN10 I7-6700K GTX1050TI4G 16G-DDR4 SSD 500G C:\Steam\\\FSX FlyAwayGlobalMesh UTX USA,CAN,TROP,EUR,ASK,AS FSceneX
  23. To me: 'Flightsim.com' is and has allways been the best 'SimSite' ever. But I think 'Fly-awaySimulation' has a 'pro account' that is available on a monthly basis. That's how I got ' GlobalFreewareMesh' 45GB and 'NL2000V4' 35GB in a few houres. Just make a list of 'big files' you want and take a monthly 'pro account' BTW you made me curious: What is VOZ180 ?
