  1. With respect I would say: Get FSX Steam and you'll be flying FSX Gold in minutes. (No DVD's and more important: no code's, no authorizations, and you do get Steam ability to verify your installed FSX integrity at any time.
  2. Beautiful pics (so jealous....) with respect I noticed you have RTX 2060 as GPU which seems to be a 6GB unit. As I'm still looking for a MSFS capable system (for a price I can afford) I'm shocked by the prices of 8GB units, usually no less than $800 in my country. I have 1440p monitor. May I ask if your AMD CPU and Intel based GPU work fine together and please may I ask on what max settings you can run your MSFS? Your CPU GPU setup might very well be an option I could afford. Many thnx in advance for your reply....................
  3. I'd say: go to Steam as long as it's available there. May cost you around $15,00 but you'll be flying in 20 mins. No disks, regs, authorisation troubles. FSX Steam equals or is even better than boxed FSX Gold. But first remove each and every little last trace of a boxed FSX from your system.(uninstall, delete every item that may refer to any previous FSX boxed install. Like Name\App data etc etc........... and don't install your new FSX SE in C:\Program Files' Create a new Folder somewhere on your C: root, then point the Steam installer to your new created Folder. This works for me, 6 years install, never a problem............. regards
  4. Agree, so my preferred Install order is: FSIM Base , Mesh , Landclass , (Global) Graphic Texture upgrades FScene, Local add-on sceneries. What I normaly do right after the Base FSim install is run Nav database creator for FSNav and Little Nav Map.
  5. If the volume bars move but no sound from the speakers: have you tried headphones?, is a cable or plug somewhere twisted or broken? Sounds...... more like a Win issue ?
  6. Maybe you have already tried this and as a suggestion; with FS9 running, right-click your speaker icon and check in your volume-mixer if the slider for flightsim is above zero.................
  7. Do you have the following order starting from your base installation up; Base, Mesh, Landclass, Add-on Scenerie(s) ??
  8. If this was another file than 'aircraft.cfg' than the aircraft will probably show up in 'aircraft selection' menu........ I have made 'backups' of all my sims: FS8 FS9 FSX right after the first clean install. This has helped me numerous times when I accidently deleted a FS9/X default 'lose' texture, cfg, air, mdl, wav etc. file and was unable to retrieve it from the 'recycle bin' afterwards.
  9. Installed this ZBAA , did ILS 109.90 36R Plane landed 500ft left of RWY edge, same with 36L 111.70 Could you check it on your system? thankx
  10. This is not the first FMC I try to install and make it work. But as with my 5 or so previous attempts I come no further than a solid black square somewhere on the panel view. Been simming since FS5, been downloading and installing from the beginning of times. Scenery, aircraft, panels, gauges , one goes easier than the other but in the (long) end I can get them all to work. Except for FMC gauges, I never succeed. I do something wrong but what??? I tried this time in default FSX Cessna C172. First I downloaded and unzipped the file in my 'downloads' folder. I openend and put the FMC1.CAB in the FSX/Gauges folder. Then I changed the C172/Panel/Panel.cfg as follows: (I copied the FMC settings from the included PDF in the FMC_xip.) >>>> now this I cannot understand: when I change in the 'GAU line : gauge00=FMC!FMC, 0, 0, 325,512 to another FSX gauge for instance : gauge00=Cessna172!Clock, 122,193, 58, 58 then the clock is showing in the window ?? Why is the FMC gauge not showing in my FMC window06 ???? thanxs for suggestions WIN10 64bit I7 6700K GTX1050TI4G SSD500G FSX SE, FS9, FS8 all workingwonders......... // Panel Configuration file // Cessna 172sp // Copyright © 2001-2003 Microsoft Corporation. 11. tap 3 times on the floor......... (why don't you react to the other 3 nice people who try to help you..)
  12. Me too, been simming since FS4, 3 1/2 diskette. With all releases after that I was always 5 or more years behind in having a system that could run the latests version. (Only begin 2019 I was able to buy a FSX capable PC) I purchased... MSFS from the start through the $1 XBOX game pass option, I still use it but never actualy bought it. 3 month's Game Pass for $ 4,00, 1 month (free) through a sales promotion from buying a headset, 1 month (free) through a promotion of 'Pringles XBox (have to buy lots of Pringles though) My system: 5 years old: I7 6700K GTX1050 TI RAM16G 1600 My 500G SSD is completely filled with FSX SE and all UTX regions. So my MSFS is in a remote obscured folder somewhere on my 'overcrowded, super fragmented' HDD. Still I enjoy it even on Lower than Low settings. No room on my physical desktop so I 'fly' with KB and Mouse only. Been through all the MSFS patches and on my system it now flies almost as stable as FSX although TBH I can only fly C152 and similar light planes. AP is beyond my horizon as yet. The one thing that strikes me most in my recent MSFS months is that no matter how difficult the sim was at the beginning I've never had not 1 single CTD ever. So at this moment for me it's just trying to safe some $$'s like with all my previous FS versions. I'm sure that Microsoft and Asobo will continue improving the sim. happy flying................
  13. Do you have any Internet Security or Virus scanner in your system?
  14. FS2000 Wilco PIC B767 had all that, after that PSS B757/777 came a long way too ....................
  15. Almost always I read that people are reluctant to reinstall their sims when in case it appears to be 'the only option left' I'm flying since 3 1/2'' floppy days and between then and now I've had 6 new PC's. (though always 'basic rigs') Whenever I was changing or renewing something 'basic' like new PC or new HDD I was always looking forward to a complete reinstall from my sims. What you get: A flight in the ultra-default sim that you can compare with the full 'addon on' sim to see what 'hickups' develop during the 'add on' process. An oppertunity to rethink the order of scenery category setup: Mesh, Landclass, local scenery. A chance to make a full backup of the default sim (all levels)in case you missed it first time. I've completely reinstalled FS9 (new OS, New PC's) more then 10 times (FSX boxed and SE 5 times) and I loved it every single time. I keep and update a Word doc on reinstalling my sims. (20 pages now) I have SATA SSD now and plan to update my MB to be able to include NVME M2 SSD. I realy look forward to reinstalling and start complete new. The only thing that scares my like hell is : At this moment I have FS9 and FSX SE Flight1 Ult.terrain all available regions. When going from FSX Boxed to FSX SE I was not able to reinstall any Flight1 Ult terrain program. I tried and struggled for 4 month's (couldn't sleep) untill finaly I had the courage to make a change in my WIN10 Registry myself. I found the Flight1 re-installation procedure a complete scandal. You have the previous installation files (which you paid for) on your system but whenever you want to run them you are put into to a swamp of reauthorization requirements from Flight1 which is almost impossible to meet. Pure luck when you succeed. So just maybe I will try to find out how to strip my present FSX untill Scenery level and then transfer my remaining FSX (Mesh and Landclass only) from my SATA to my M.2 SSD. Any thoughts are always 'more' then wellcome..... Peter I7 6700K GTX1050TI 4g 16GB2660 SSD500G FS8,FS9,FSX SE. (MSFS on my superfragmented HDD but works without stutters and ctd's all in super minimal.)

MOWGLI22 I am so curious what MB you have for your I5 10400 LGA1200 socket? And what cooling you have for your CPU? Thanks for yr info.............
  17. I guess you must have missed a few remarks on this subject 'here and there'. Is your Flightmodel 'Modern' ? I fly MSFS also with KB and Mouse only. Further my system is truly minimal. MSFS is on an overcrowded HDD. Still with all options between low and minimal I have a pretty stable flight now, and can 'flare-land' on the numbers. I can live with the fact that: AP is a no-go in any plane, I can only fly:light single engine planes (no Extra), however Kingair does fly reasonably. I've had it from the start, still on 'Game-pass' through all kinds of product-promotions, now flying for free on 'X-Box Pringles' action. Just keep on trying, one way or another most of yr problems are due to some kind of error in your own setup, but look further then MSFS only.
  18. Hello , I am Dutch resident and I would be interested in the PC. I'm willing to pay for it, but for the PC easiest way for me to start using it here would be to dispose of any O.S. and software that is installed on it right now. I take it that the O.S. is installed on one of the SSD's, probably the Corsair 1TB, so easiest would be to take the SSD that has the O.S. out of the system before preparing it for shipment. Based on a max weight of 15 kgs. Fedex Economy would be around US$ 120,00 . Please PM me your thoughts sofar and some pictures of the out's and in's of your system. Thanks , stay safe and regards: P B,
  19. For the past 3 years or so most ready built PC's are sold without Optical Drives, unless you order one specificaly. Maybe he meant by downloading, buying it from 'Steam'. If not then the O.P. can safe himself all this hassle by purchasing FSX SE for about $15,- , then he has the latest upgraded and up to date version of FSX and can get airborne within 10 mins or so..............
  20. My story: I entered MSFS from the beginning through the XBOX $1 option. I have a system which resembles a tub of quicksand. I5 - GTX1050 - 8GB no SSD KB/Mouse only. So flying MSFS was from the start a struggle, but with every upgrade it got just a little tiny bit better. But after the last upgrade I entered a dream. I was a different person, I flew a C208, took off from NZWN, made 2 roundtrips in marginal weather and the'Van' flew silky smooth from take off to beautiful flared dead centerline landings. This is a 200% improvement, for me I'd say they are at an 85% point now when it comes to manual GA aircraft flying. So in my truly humble opinion and with full respect to other posts I say that when I can have a fantastic experience with my 'totaly pinched' system the fundamentals of MSFS seem to be right now.
  21. Fully agree, I entered MSFS through XBOX $1 option. I have a system which resembles a tub of quicksand. I5 - GTX1050 - 8GB -no SSD - KB/Mouse only. This is a 200% improvement, for me I'd say they are at an 88% point now when it comes to basic manual GA aircraft flying. I'm happy, even more motivated then ever to try and safe the extra $$ for a better sys.
  22. have you been here: http://www.calclassic.com/ ?
  23. Fully agree, I got it from the start through the X-Box deal. Tried it from the start, loved it from the start. Went through all the patches, experienced total loss of the sim, retrieved 2 planes, had to reinstall all over, went through the 'slow download' script, full download took a full week's 24/24 active PC. The latest US Patch mysteriously downloaded 'full speed' My system can best be compared with 'a tub of quicksand' my 500GB SSD is full with FSX SE with all add-ons. So my MSFS is on my overcrowded, fully fragmented 1TB HDD from 10 years back..... Funny thing is that allthough the C-152 is the only plane that is flying more or less stable the whole program has never worked as good is it is now. Due to lack of space I fly with KB and mouse only. I can now make realistic centreline flared landings with C-152. The real incredible thing has been that I never had one single CTD since installing it. Now Microsoft/X_Box has raised the monthly price to EUR 9,99 so I'm ending my subscription in order to save $$ for a MSFS compatible system. I'm happy with the experience sofar, I have saved it in the numerous 'notepad' files I made for myself for future reference. Of course I will follow all the news and posts that will become available, but for now it's back to my FSX SE (and FS9 and FS8 .........) I expect within a year MSFS will be as stable as FSX and I hope to have a capable system at that time to enjoy it.........
