  1. Never been able to find the ' '\Microsoft.FlightDashboard_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\'structure on my 'Steam'setup. My path: Name\AppData\Roaming\Flight Simulator\Packages and then 'Community and Official folders'. However 'I'm not sure at all if my path is the correct one.............? Win10 C:=M2 NVME
  2. For my 'first ever new build' ,B550m, 5 5600X, 2x16GB3200 16, M2nvme, Mugen 5 PCGM, KB Mouse only. When choosing a new GPU (budget $700,-) , what is more important for 1080P; Memory size or Bus speed? I think Bus speed is the more expensive one, thnxs for any advice............ Run MSFS on GTX1050TI now, allready absolutely superb, enabled Google maps, unchecked all 'candy options' such as 'flight assistance etc, left most scenery on medium to high....., absulutely brilliant me 69yrs....
  3. It's like a house: starting with 'foundation' then 'walls and bricks' finaly 'the paint'. Fsim: 'Mesh', 'Landclass' and finally 'Textures'; if you keep this order in your Install sequence (immediately after the Fresh Install) the priority should be fine. (I recommend: first make a full b-up of yr fresh Install) You can allways easely manage yr scenery priority in yr Scenery Library afterwards. However this may optically mixup your Scenery.cfg file in: C:\Programdata\Microsoft\FSX... Off course, this all is my opinion only....

There's a basic rule in FS that says: build your 'earth in Fsim' from the bottom up, starting with;Mesh, then Landclass and finaly Scenery. If your add-on scenery contains only scenery 'objects' and their 'paint' then it should be no problem..... I have all UTX (in FS9 and FSX) and hundreds of add-ons mostly scenery, have no real problems with them. My system is low end, so being forgiving keeps me a happy flyer...........
  5. It has been stated about 1mil times now, don't put flightsim in (x86) folder...........
  6. Where are the days when Wilco sold : Airport 2000 series :8 airplanes (mixed bag), 8 airports (not the smallest) and 8 adventures for FS7, FS8 for about $ 27000 or $ 27,00.......................?
  7. Funny thing, I use only KB and mouse, KB inputs are much more precise and less violent on my planes (and I mean all my planes). F.I. a slight tap on (num) 6> will make my planes vear to the right a few inches. Now luckily that differs by plane, with C152 a tap on 6> will move the plane much stronger and faster than that same tap with whatever bigger plane. I can land any plane in any weather on any runway dead center, though little bit (3 ft or so) to the left because as a pilot you are seated a little left of the planes center line. Only in bad wheater my landing ratings drop a little. And whats more from spot view my flares are virtually indistinguishable from what you see in the avg YTube landing video. Am so happy when I see my spot landings. My deadcentre landings FS9 : 95% FSX 90% with bigger airplanes. And then you can easily set KB sensitivity setting in control-options. With my KB I can make any plane's pitch, bank or yaw movement as fluid and smooth as I want. In all my sims my AP ILS or NAV loc landings are allways 100% I have FS8 FS9 FSX. I7 6700K H110MK 1050TI 16GB 1stick 1tb Sata SSD KB mouse , saving for stronger rig for MSFS.
  8. I have 5600X and B550 MB. From what I see on Gigabyte info and in MB Manual there's only a TPM header on the MB but not an actual physical TPM module soldered on the MB itself. TPM modules are sold seperately on Amazon, Gigabyte and AliX. I hope I'm wrong here and setting the BIOS TPM switch will be sufficient..??
  9. First I do a clean, all discs, install (outside C:/Program...... etc) then I copy the entire contents of that folder to a new folder which I name: FS9-CleanInstall. Then I uninstall the 'first' FS9 through : 'settings' - 'software programfiles' etc etc now the regsiter is clean. Then I install again and start building, Mesh, Landclass, Scenery, Utils, Weather finally Planes. I have a 20 pages 'private de- and reinstall FS9 manual' I use as a checklist, simply follow the steps and check when completed. I have FS9 + about 25 addons (including all Ult terr.) I do a complete reinstall in 4 houres. The Install/uninstall routine through 'Settings/Software/Programs is vital for an up to date registry.
  10. Keeping yr computer dustfree is essential. I have I7 6700K (stockcooler) GTX1050ti 16GB Ram(1 stick!!) HDD 1 TB. I got MSFS from the start, X-Box $ 1,99 , then in Holland: 2 months Pringles action $ 4,99 In total I was able to use it for 4 months. My PC is kept together with ductape and rubber bands. My 10 yr old HDD is 99% full and super fragmented. But my PC is 100% dustfree, I clean it every 3 months. (remove GPU and brush and vacuum inside the case. In the 4 months I used MSFS (which was then full of all the first errors) I never had 1 CTD........ Now saving for a better system and looking forward to buying and starting MSFS again.
  11. Incredible story, me Fsimmer since FS5 then FS6,7,8,9 and FSX, saving now for a MSFS capable rig, mainly with good GPU (3060TI). I'm now doing MSFS on my: I7 6700K with stock 92mm fan, GTX1050TI, 1 stick DDR 16GB 2666 mhz , MSFS is installed on my (overcrowded and superfragmented) 10 yr old HDD 1TB, keyboard and mouse, (no room for more) I've flown MSFS since the XBox introduction 3 month's for $ 4,99/$ 5,99 a month, then in our country Pringles/XBox promotion (3 month's for $ 4,99. a month). In the 6 month's, which were upon it's release, that I was able to use it, I had all the MSFS problems from the early days, but I will never ever forget that in these 6 month's I experienced no more than 2 genuine CTD's. So can't wait to start again with MSFS on a capable PC.In the mean time I'm downloading all the free MSFS files that are released here on our wonderful Flightsim.com for better day's to come.
  12. Mesh defines the 'height difference' or (lack of) 'Elevation' of the terrain, Landclass defines what category the terrain is: Urban, water, forest, dessert, mountain etc etc. In Fsim you would build your scenery starting from Mesh (at the bottom) to Landclass to Textures. I use 'Fly Away Scenery' Free Global Mesh and to me it works wonders........ https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/24690/fsx-freemeshx-global-terrain-mesh-scenery-20/
  13. ...using Driver Booster 8. Free version .... Just a thought: drivers are best updated from the hardware vendor's site. (also allways free and unlimited updates) Free driver update software may fill your PC with 'floatware' 'bloatware' 'ransomware' 'spyware' and more presents which are very hard to delete afterwards...................
  14. Check your \\My Documents\Flight Simulator X Files folder......
  15. With such detailled system specs be glad that you manage to fly at least once in a while......................
  16. As far as I know, FS2004 never came with a key-code, it was only sold in the 4 CD Box. When you paid for the Box you were the ligitimate owner. There was a 'Certificate of authenticity' sticker in the Box but no license code's were printed nor asked. X-Box sounds like FSX-Steam version
  17. I read an ad on Amazon: FSX Gold $ 179,99, note: on Steam it's $ 24,99. On Steam it's: Genuine FSX Gold version, no code's or authorization issues whatsoever, you'll be flying in 15 mins. And you get the ability to check the Sim's integrity at any time.
  18. I have this for long time now, I still like it.............. https://store.dovetailgames.com/eu/product/429793/around-the-world-in-80-flights-add-on
  19. With all respect I found that a thourough clean of my pc's internals worked absolute wonders. I mean airbrush, damp cloth's, small vac.cleaner etc. My PC now looks, feels, sounds and works complete as new. I clean once every 2 years, but plan to do it more frequently. I have less than minimum specs, I7 6700k with stock Intel cooler which looks like a child'stoy from a fair, GPU which is held together by adhesive tape, my extra double fragmented 15yr old HDD, my 1 stick 16GB 2133 ?hz. Only new is my 500GB SATA SSD. My FSX still works allmost complete maxed 30fps, except cities. I have Global mesh, all UTX's, FSceneX etc. Now saving for MSFS rig, anyone know if GTX1660 6GB can do that? regards,

  21. I have this, better then FSGlobal in my opinion and **FREE** https://flyawaysimulation.com/
  22. Wow, that's a difficult one...............
  23. Difficult to copy even if you had an actual accurate flightplan. Little NavMap, Flight Sim Commander and FSBuild have formidable flightplanners with many options for waypoints. I've done this dozens of times when my son was flying UKBB to ZBAA in FS9. He real B777, me FS9 PSS B777 China southern. I was completely thrilled to see my plane flying, more or less!!!, the same route in more or less the same time compared to Flightaware. In my opinion it is extremely hard to get complete coverage. Things as actual flight conditions, weather, plane weight, actual cruize speed, step climb procedures, actual SID's and STAR's and route diversions are hard to follow. I have all the issued books in the series: Ian Allan's From the Flightdeck. These books describe cockpit and crew actions almost minute by minute of actual real world flights. For instance Issue 11 : B747 EGLL - VHHH. All aircraft figures and full flightplan are given in the book and can be reproduced in Flightsim. However I found that strange as it may seem, some waypoints from the book were not available in Flightplanning. hope the screendump of my son's flight gives an indication. stay well....
