  1. hello John, first of all : thanks for your reply. I'm a positive guy, only this year I was (moneywise) able to get a PC that could run FSX SE. I installed it in : SSD C:\Steam\Steamapps\Common\FSX\.... I7 6700k GTX1050TI4G 16DDR4 SSD500G I have Flyawayscenery Free Global Mesh, UTX USA CAN EUR AK Pac Asia and FSceneX. I'm absolutely happy with my FSX, I have all sliders between 80% and Max, I have NVidea Config all options: Max Performance except: AA which is 8 and refreshrate Vsinc = adaptive/half. In FSX I have allmost constant 30fps except for the bussiest airports in QW B757. I come from 15 yrs FS9 , I had LAGO FSSE in FS9, a wonderfull program, every airport or airfield I came, first thing I did was : pimp it up a little with FAGO FSSE. I've learned that adding only a few objects ( Fence, trucks, Lamp-pole few static aircraft) is enough to bring some life into most of the smaller, less detailled airports. I have my FSX working now, only this last step I cannot make. Setting up IS3 is 'a piece of cake' Right-click the installer, let it install into : C:ProgramFiles(X86) The InstallModule comes up afterward; my path's to FS9 and FSX are taken from the registry so they are correct. Click : Add Module to the sims and the : Name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX :XML.DLL is correctly filled. My FS9 works perfect with [instant Scenery] menu item added ! But then when I start my FSX I get the error messages: which say in short: The Add-on program Instant Scenery 3 is not compatible with my present version of FSX Steam. I downloaded the latest IS3 v. 3.07 from Flight1 . There is an incredible amount of forum posts on this subject in Avsim , Flightsim , Flight1 , FSInsider , FSDeveloper, Steam and some more. Most of these posts identify problems like.: - Installed in wrong folder - XML.DLL wrong place or content The Installer creates a folder: Name\\\\\Microsoft\ FSX SE and puts the XML.DLL there, while it should be in Name\\\\\\\Microsoft\FSX I copy/paste'd it there. no succes. - show 'hidden files' not ticked - run Install Module twice. - press 'Check online button' - uninstall and reinstall time after time etc etc I've tried every suggestion I came upon but my FSX crashes after Installing IS3 or to say more precisely : My FSX crashes when it reads the XML.DLL , When I put two [ // ] before the Instant Scenery line(s) in the XML.DLL then my FSX does not crash but off course IS3 is then still not added. I just cannot figure it out; where is the problem? what is missing? what file is missing or misplaced?, what (CFG or DLL) entry is wrong? Before my last attempt I completely switched-off my Norton IS., again I selected all FSX files and related files to be excluded from Virus scans, again to no avail. If I may ask, John, have you got it working on your machine? If so could we discuss some setup details then, thanks in advance. stay well, regards Peter
  2. This year I was finally able(moneywise) to get FSX SE and I have now set it up to my satisfaction. I'm 'utterly happy' with it. I7 6700K GTX1050TI4G 16G-DDR4 SSD500G no joystick, pedals C:\Steam\Steamapps\Common\FSX\...... , Flyawaysimulation FreeMesh, UTX USA EUR CAN AK PAC ASIA , FsceneX There's just one thing I would like so much to do: that is: add some default static FSX objects myself into smaller airports. Something like FS9 LAGO FSSE. I've tried sofar to setup and use : FSX Object Placement Tool , ADE , Whisplacer, SAMM, But sofar I've not been able to put 'one single small object' anywhere in the sim. I'm embarrassed , I feel dumb.............. Last week I bought : Flight1 Instant Scenery , The Product Page and Youtube clips made me decide to buy it and the manual looks not to difficult for me. As with all the previous programs I tried before this, I simply cannot get the setup of IS3 to create a menu entry in FSX, During install I checked both my FS9 and FSX for IS3 to install in. FS9 installed completely by itself , the path was taken from the registry , no problem it works. Install in FSX seems as easy, but when I start my FSX an error message comes: Flight Simulator has detected a problem with 3rd Party Software etc............... When I click [Yes] to proceed FSX crashes, when I click [No] FSX works but then without IS3. I've been trying several options for a week now but without succes. Maybe it is a security issue, is the file: flt1chk4.dll supposed to be in: C:\ProgramFiles(X86)\Instant Scenery 3 Folder or in Name/appdata////FSX or somewhere else. Is XML.DLL supposed to look like this: (I also have FSX LVD767) Launch dll.xml False False Level-D Simulations False False Modules\LVLD.dll False Instant Scenery False False C:\Program Files (x86)\Instant Scenery 3\InstantSceneryFSX.dll ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I did a Steam FSX Integrity test , Steam corrected some appearant issues in my FSX but the fault remains. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the relevant : Name\appdate\roaming\\\\\ Instant Scenery Log 2020-07-01 19:30:58.894 C:\Users\Peter Bootes\AppData\Roaming\Flight1\Instant Scenery\OnlineVersionUpdate.dat 2020-07-01 19:30:58.894 E221 2020-07-01 19:31:18.768 FSX directory: C:\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX 2020-07-01 19:31:18.768 FSX version: 10.0.63003.0 2020-07-01 19:31:18.768 C:\Users\Peter Bootes\AppData\Roaming\Flight1\Instant Scenery\OnlineVersionUpdate.dat 2020-07-01 19:31:18.768 E221 2020-07-01 19:31:18.770 h=EB620000 EBD40000 EBE48850 EB664A70 EBBF0000 EBBFEDC0 EBAD0000 EBB71520 EBB82530 101 6B3A3678 EB17A190 could anyone read this and give me an advice how to correct this ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Maybe this is a correct error LOG , though I myself would not know where to look here for a solution ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - 21:35 - 1000 2 100 0x80000000000000 19853 Application DESKTOP-72T0E96 - fsx.exe 10.0.63003.0 5def68dc ai_player.dll 10.0.63003.0 5def68e4 c0000005 00038759 128c 01d64fddff54807f C:\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\fsx.exe C:\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\ai_player.dll e43b3e95-4968-43f2-b002-fca903491c80 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I read on the many Flight1 posts that it does work in FSX SE but I just can not duplicate the corrective actions in these posts. 3. I have FSX Just Flight Flying Club PA28 with Aeroselect.exe. The tool allows for zero = 0 passengers but nomatter what I set and save when I reload the FlyingClub PA-28 the 'uggly f.t man' is sitting next to me. I did 90° right turn, cut his seatbelt , opened the right passenger door and tried to shove him out. 'but he's too heavy I cannot get him to 'step out' he's been there since FS9 days... Will you swap my 'f.tman' for your female....
  4. hi, the autopilot part of the 2D panel has no clickable AT on/off switch. However there is a clickable Speed on/off switch and a working Speed Selection knob. The manual says : - SPEED : Sets the autopilot target speed when speed mode is engaged. Even if the CRJ has no auto-throttle system, you can adjust the speed. When climbing or descending, the autopilot will automatically adjust the vertical speed to maintain the target speed. I noticed that it works like this in the Sim. To me this plane flies very easy and stable with working ILS. It is a € 15,00 product, so I can easily accept when some items or specs are not like the real CRJ. It's like I wrote in my first mail, I keep my expectations in line with the money I am able to spent. There's the Aerosoft CRJ that goes for € 51.00 , that's far above my budget. No prob, I'm content with how it performs. Remeber WILCO from FS98/FS2000 days, Airport2000 parts 1,2 and 3. Six different airplanes, six different airports, missions and a written manual in a box for € 15,00. And their famous groundbraking Wilco B767 with Eric Ernst Panel (I still have the manuals as a memory) be happy stay safe Peter
  5. Last month I bought Wilcopub 'CRJ Next Gen' Flightsim becomes fun when you install add-ons. Problem with add-ons is that they can become very expensive. One publisher sells you landclass for a whole continent for $ 30,00 another sells you the same for 1 country for that price. And then the latter will only work if you first buy 2 basic packages for $ 90,00 and $ 60.00 each....... My add-on budget is as limited as the space I have on my desk to put anything more then a flatscreen , keyboard and mouse. Also I'm getting a bit older meaning that I can no longer distinguish very small items on the screen. In short I can only fly an aircraft that has at least a regular classic 2D Panel view to begin with as default first option.(shift-1) regular = PFD, ND, AP glareshield, Engines throttles and maybe comms., flaps gear etc. the basic stuff. When I started the Wilcopub CRJ700 I was impressed by the VC, the exterior details, and all other options. FMS etc. My first flight was wonderfull, ( fuel 40/20/40) to me it handled very realistic, light, very agile , responsive in power settings. It made me believe I was flying a 'regional jet' , that's what simming is about for me. I fly since FS4 5 1/4'days. I never had money to buy a pc that could fly the 'then' released Sim so I allmost allways had to wait about 10 years to step 1 version up. I started FS9 in 2010, I started FSX SE in 2020....... I noticed on start up that there was no classic 2D panel. First I must admit here that if I had searched longer in the 'Fora' I could have known this. In the beginning I was not happy with it and I even mailed Wilcopub that I made an error in buying the product. On their product page it is not stated that this aircraft does not have a classic 2D Panel. Like some other Vendors (Carenado) sometimes do state and I give them credit for that allthough I will not buy a 'no 2D' product. Also Wilcopub clearly states on their product page that no refund can be given if a product cannot be used. They answered me by PM after 2 days that a refund could not be given. This turned out to be 'a blessing' A very big 'plus' for the Wilco CRJ is that it is an all glass cockpit, so all different screens are available as 2D pop-up screens. These individual screens can be dragged and resized at will, you can put them anywhere you could possibly want. Then I added in the CRJ700 'panel CFG' an entry for the default 'Kingair Throttle quadrant'. This is the result of my fiddeling around with some available panel pop ups, I'm very happy with it. Wilcopub CRJ700 NextGen has now become my all favorite short haul 100nm full FMC - full AP Jetliner. VC and all instruments, knobs etc work 'no prob' regards Peter I7 6700K GTX1050TI4G 16GDDR4 SSD500G C:/Steam/////FSX
  6. I've had the same experience when I upgraded my PC to new MB ,I7 , GTX1050 and SSD500G. I had FSX Gold and tried to reinstall in WIN10. I Insert DVD1 , Pointed to C:/FSX and almost immediately 'removing applications' comes up. Fortunately I had read somewhere that patience is needed, in my case about 30 min. I let the CP alone, went to the kitchen to make a coffee did some more things and returned to my pc to see that the bar was moving again. Bit then I ran into the FSX + Acceleration error code 1-80004005> which was solved by checking registry as follows. 1) with regedit, located this entry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\CONTROL\CLASS\{4D36E967-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} 2) edit your UpperFilters key. For FSX and their validatin system, they expect it only reads "PartMgr". In your case, there is great chance it shows something more. In my case, it was reading: GoBack2 PartMgr SiRemFil 3) change the registry to read only "PartMgr" After all this I decided to go to FSX Steam which installed and runs perfectly. regards
  7. There's a thing I would like to add. As I see it: From the beginning WIN10 has not allways been a static collection of programs. There are these upgrades which can change a working program into a problematic one. So to me under WIN10 there is never a guarantee that a program that works now will continue working. Don't know what will happen when the 'next WIN10' upgrade comes out.......
  8. I have PMDG B737(FS9), PSS B757(FS9), QW B757 (FS9 and FSX) and PSS B777 (FS9) Only one that don't work under WIN10 is PSS B777 .................. In my Experience WIN10 is more stable and offers more 'room' to run different programs, f.i. FSX , FSCommander , Flightaware. No problem whin I flew in FS9 : B777 UUEE-ZBAA together with my son who was in the 'real UA plane'..................... I felt so connected with him when I compared the progress my flight in FSCommander with the position of the real plane in 'Flight- Aware' My flight from FSBuild to FS9. The resemblance between the FS9 position and the Flightaware position was at times 'striking' I've had the same experience with FSX flights and Flightaware but have no supporting screenshots. So for me WIN10 is solid fundament to run several heavy programs together. WIN10 I7 6700K GTX1050TI4G 16G-DDR4 SSD500
  9. differences: about 100 all in benefit of Steam most relevant: - No authorization - keycode issues: Steam=buy once - use allways...Install as may times as you want. - Steam : FSX Integrity-check is allways available. - All FSX updates included in your first Steam Installation. - Compared to Boxed : much more stable as long as you have a system with sufficient strength to run it. - in All : as long as you follow normal FSX rules like : Scenery Layer sequence: Mesh/Landclass/Scenery and other normal FSX conditions you may also find as I actually did find that steam is better better. Just take care when you have FSX boxed installed and you decide to replace it by FSX SE first make sure you uninstall , delete, remove every trace of your old FSX wherever present in you system. So uninstall through Controll panel - programs , use explorer (set show hidden and system files) to delete every FSX folder and file present in your: Name/App data/Roaming//// FSX and //App Data /local Microsoft.... and C:/Program Data/Microsoft FSX...... and the remaining Root folder of FSX after doing the Control Panel/Uninstall. regards: Peter
  10. Not sure what you mean, In FS9 after landing you could park any of your (flyable) planes anywhere on every airport as long as airport officials were not looking................ I do not know if it works in FSX also.
  11. I guess too these are 2 conflicting scenery layers or with a wrong priority. You can 'uncheck' scenery areas (one by one or more at a time) in the scenery library and see what happens. Also compare your Addon Scenery/Scenery folder contents with possible individual scenery add-ons.........
  12. I wellcome myself into the FSX World with a completed and smooth as butter touchdown on ILS CYVR 36L , was I dreaming or did I hear some applause coming from behind..............?
  13. thank you Capt's Downwind66 and TopGun for yr professional input. I will fly my own STAR to CYVR 26L - WA12 ADSIX SAVED 110.70 261' and proceed from there. Look forward to it, will try to add some 'shots'.. Peter
  14. thanks again Downwind66 and Lnuss for all your ideas and efforts. You know for me it's like FSX was introduced only last year. This puts me about 14 years behind time when it comes to mastering it. Now I did this flight FSX CRJ7000 KSEA- CYVR 26R This flight was absolutely an achievement for me. I planned it I added my own waypoint ( In the FltPln this is waypoint 8 (after 7 previous WPT's in this particular FltPln which I deleted before saving.) The meaning of this waypoint was that I could fly the route in GPS mode (AP=NAV) and that the plane would make a left turn to a heading of 260' at a point 36 miles before the actual beginning of RW26. So the Plan: KSEA > 101 NM 343" to my WPT 8 then a turn left to 261" and then 36NM to RW 26R. The coordinates of my WPT8 were : N49 7.33 W122 16.25 The plane did just that with one minor hdg. correction on my part. I was happy, the plane entered the approach, I set NAV 111.95 SPD 170 ALT 5000 waited for the diamonds , First NAV for the localizer then APPR for the active GS. What made me a happy flyer was that the CRJ did follow both the LAT and VERT part of the ILS without problems. It landed only slightly to the right of the actual RW, that may be caused by my UTX CAN or by my CYVR afcad. This is not a problem for me, it actually engaged and followed the directions given by the diamonds. let's try some pic's For me this flight and the landing was a 100% succes, I will search a new destination airport now. One that is ILS equipped offcourse but also 100% default with no addons or afcads anywhere. Something like KSEA - KEUG (with VORTAC and ILS) Thanks again regards
  15. Thanks, thanks and thanks to all people , flightsimmers, who have been so kind to post a reply to my ILS story. I tried to recap as best as possible the steps I follow from entering ILS range to flare. The story became too fragmented and difficult to read, entirely my fault. I ask you please to read the following with environment settings: Weather: Clear Airport: ALT=0 ATC=inactive No real World SID's or STAR's Plane Landing weight= Fuel set to 15% max I love my FS9 and I love my FSX. The past 14 years I have flown FS9 but I allways wanted to fly FSX from the date it was released. I was so happy when my son flew in real live: Finnair B777 EFHK-ZBAA and I was able to fly with him in FS9 and managed to 'keep up (roughly) with his flight' from start to arrival as it was presented in FlightAware. My flight FSBuild , My plane PSS B777 . An experience I will never forget. Only beginning this year I was finally able to fund a system capable of running FSX with realistic details. I do not consider myself a sim expert, I have only PC, 1 monitor, 1 Keyboard and mouse. I have no room for other controllers on and below my desk. I'm happy with that. I am not able to fly according to real world procedures and charts. My charts are FSNav. and LittleNavMap. and even FS-GPS and FS-Map. I think, but could be wrong here, that they provide all needed information to set up and follow an ILS landing. I put great value in trimming my aircraft, f.i. FSX RJ-700 I take off and fly manually to 5.000 ft , I fly SPD 190 and trim the plane so that it will fly level and straight without any AP mode engaged. One plane may be more difficult than the other but we can all do this. Changes in ALT , I correct with SPD. So the plane flies manually, AP is not engaged, all values are ZERO. Now imagine that I succeed to position the aircraft such that it will be 30NM before the RW and that it stays on that precise ILS runway heading , imagine that it would maintain ALT 5.000 ft. and SPD 190. All without AP engaged. I've set my NAV1 to ILS freq. (OBS not a factor) then in theory I would only have to wait for the ILS to become active and when the diamonds are both centered (My Alt a bit below GS) I would only have to press AP on followed by press APPR and the plane would fly the ILS. I myself would only have to add FLaps in relation to my manual reduction of Airspeed. Now in FS9 I can easily do this but in FSX is different. Of course I can fly the Lateral part of the ILS with AP engaged and fly NAV or LOC hold depending on the aircrafts panel and press APPR when a little under GS. Now this is not my preferred way I want to fly an ILS landing because it's not realistic ,I just want the plane to follow the localizer course and follow the GS descent path which is something that I find very difficult to achieve in my !! FSX. I must be doing something wrong here or I begin with the wrong assumptions somewhere. Well before I make this post is too incoherent too, I will fly now in FSX RJ700: KSEA 34R - LEVIR - BOGGI - CYVR 26R ILS 111.95 260 Elev 14ft. I'll post my findings, Peter
  16. Normally I spitt through almost the whole archive of 'old posts' before I decide to post a new thread. But It seems that in the whole wide FS world I am the only one who has this problem, so I have to 'come out' here. My FS live: FS5 FS6 FS7 FS8 FS9 FSX all the way from 5 1/4 flop to 500G SSD. In FS9 my ILS AP APPR landings with f.i. PMDG737 , PSS 757/777 QW 146/757 are 100% flawless, no matter what airport as long as the selected RW is ILS equipped : Appr, Flaps, Flare, TD, Auto Brake, Rev Tr, Idle, Taxi, Shutdown at the gate all without a problem. My ILS procedure(both FS9 and FSX): (Weather and ATC not active) Aircraft f.i. FSX QW B757. - check Charts for RW and Navaid details. - select appropriate ILS equipped RW. - Set ILS Freq NAV1/PED and ILS Course (not really needed) - Fly AC to beginning with HDG SEL and on RW HDG at minimal distance of 30NM and at Alt 4.000 ft. - Enter the approach at SPD 180 Mph Flaps 5 - Fly the plane from here on Alt 4.000 ft but I set Altitude from here to - 0 - - Normally the ILS becomes active between the 30 and 25 nm. distance from beginning of RW. - wait for ILS to come in (the diamonds), set EFIS/AP to LOC first or straight to APPR. - check that ALT SET and VS are both -0- (Let AP APPR do the work without restrictions from possible ALT and VS Settings) - Usually I'm a bit low here so first I enter LOC to follow the LAT part of the ILS. - I start reducing speed and apply further flaps. - I deselect AT at 500ft and select SPD manually to VREF. - Now : the plane is flying on the correct RW heading and at an Altitude well below the expected Alt on which the GS will come in and at a speed that will allow for (Lat or Vert)corrections if needed. - Mostly my ILS problems start at this point: The plane will not hold RW/ILS HDG but starts to drift left or right to a point were I have to stop LOC and switch to HDG SEL and fly to the centre of RW HDG. The fun is allready gone for me.... Then I'm so bussy correcting the Lateral part that often I don't see that the required Descent path is way under my AC. So now I have to switch to complete manual landing because I know that the APPR will never correct the errors. I land the plane but I and in some state of frustration I end FSX and start reading the manuals again ( and again and....) Mostly I find my plane unable to maintain proper Localizer hold on the ILS HDG or the plane flies the correct localizer but simply will not, no way, descent when the diamonds are sinking below the mark. What makes me so sad is that I do 100% exactly the same things as in FS9 and there my ILS landings are so realistic and satifying. I consider myself a descent flyer but by no means a 'pro' My level is : FSBuild flightplan , Fuel/Weightplanner, AC, FMC programming, Initial Ref, Load Flightplan, startup Little-NavMap load flightplan. and fly the flight : LNAV and VNAV until transition to STAR. The inevitable question, I feel a bit embarrassed here, why do my FSX ILS Landings 'suck.........' My ILS landings in default FSX planes have the same issues, I know that default FSX planes will not flare before TD so manual flare is needed, no problem. I7 6700K GTX1050TI4GB 16GB-DDR4 SSD500GB C:/Steam////FSX SE , Flyaway Global Mesh, UTX-EUR, USA, CAN, ASK, ASIA , TAC , FSceneX Thanks for any advice here.... (I can take a 'punch' if needed.............) regards and stay safe, Peter
  17. in Google no SIKL nor SIlok airstrip in Equador ?
  18. xcuse me, I respect your honesty here, but I would advise you to become a better simmer try to learn some basic principles of Windows or maybe the DOS environment that preceeded it. 1000snds or more info pages on GGLE and YTB here. To me learning the inside of Windows goes hand in hand with learning the sims. Just type ingoogle : what is a (pc)drive or what is a folder and read a bit. A process I've allways enjoyed ever since 5 1/4 days (although no ggle. then)
  19. Maybe I'm getting a little older too, I'm 67 yr. I've been simming (every day)ever since 5 1/2 disk-days. However never had the hardware that could fly the released new versions when they were released. Only this year I finally...... had saved the $$ to buy a FSX capable machine. So all my sim-life I've been waging war with my pc's and my software to at least show something of a descent visual presentation. Now I have FSX SE . all maxed (except traffic and filtering 50%) I have constant 30fps (however DX10 unable to select) I've said all my life: never no way will I ever try to edit the registry, then came UTX (re)install problem due to remaining traces of a former and 'deleted' FSX boxed edition in the WIN10 registry. For 2 weeks I studied hundreds of Forum posts on this subject. I wrote sort of checklist how to read the registry and which lines to follow. And after 2 weeks with lots of sweat on my forehead I managed to change some Items in the registry and UTX is now working perfectly. Just google your question, change a word every time, you will find hundreds if not more pages and posts giving advice and clues where to go with your SIM Question. One thing I learned: never expect more from the SIM then the money you put into it. My system: Win10 I7-6700k GTX1050TI4GB 16DDR4 SSD 500gb My SIM : C:////FSX-SE, Flyaway Mesh, UTX USA,CAN,AK,EUR,TAC , FSceneX I know I'm 14 yrs behind with FSX but I'm catching up every day and I'm enjoying the learning process every minute. If you need help with the registry , post it. regards Peter (pic from FS9/ with LAGO FSSE I have a long long way to go to learn how to add objects in FSX, something with ADE , I'm not there yet)
  20. if this is your FSX reactivation issue :registry 1-840001005 en FSX Acceleration mogelijk te maken then: Here is the navigation path to the required registry Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE begin here and follow the folder tree SYSTEM navigate to here CURRENTCONTROLSET then to here CONTROL then to here CLASS then to here / click : {4D36E967-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} find this exact key as shown here (double)click : Upper Filters: must show only : >> PartMgr beware UPPER and lower casing. regards Peter
  21. first : I have only FSX Steam, seems irrelevant but with Flight1 UTX this can cause an issue when you have a boxed FSX installed also or have had that in the past. get the picture first, the preferred sequence is : (Global) Mesh , Landclass , Global Texture, Local Sceneries(Texture). Landclass is the most demanding so this comes often per Continent,State, Country Region etc. I have : FlyAway Global Mesh (freeware!!!) Landclass: UTX USA, EUR, CAN, ASK, TAC, Asia and FsceneX global texture. I have a medium spec system, so ORBX is too heavy for my CPU. Right now I have everything default, all sliders whenever applicable to : max performance, I have only VSync: Adaptive 1/2. My SIM is on SSD500GB C:/FSX , My Mesh is on a dedicated seperate (Mesh only)HDD (100GB) everything else in FSX is on my SSD. This is just my setup, In FSX settings all sliders are max right (except Traffic 30% , Water 2LOW, bilenear filter and Anti Aliasing = on DX10=off UTX was for me pricewise the only option, maybe ORBX is better, but overall my FSX is just magic wherever I Fly it. regards Peter
  22. fully agree , let's be happy that even in these days there's one thing we can allways turn to and that's our sim. I fly FS2002 FS2004 and FSX SE In the past I had FS5 , FS98 and FS2000. My situation: Never had the funds to buy a pc that could fly the 'then released sim', always had to wait another 10 years before I could enjoy the 'old' sim. It was only beginning this year I finally was able to upgrade to a FSX SE capable pc.(still nothing special but just sufficient) : WIN10 I7-6700K GTX1050-4GB 16 GBDDR4 SSD500GB C:/FSX SE, Flyaway Freeware Mesh, UTX USA EUR CAN , Justflight FSceneX. (FSX SE = on SSD but put freeware Mesh on seperate (empty)HDD partition Tried DX10 preview with Steve Parsons DX10 patch. Searching for 2 weeks now, cannot get: FSX.cfg , Nvidea config and FSX settings in accordance with eachother. My frames are just acceptable but the hickup's and stutters are a continuing problem. Also installed FSPS FSX Booster but the stutters remain. So now I fly FSX SE without DX10 preview, have all maxed out , except traffic to 50% and gives me minimal 24fps. I'm happy with my FSX now just as I'm still very very happy with my FS9 and FS8. I've had my issues with all my sim's: FSX Acceleration Error Code 1-80004005 , FLight1 UTX install issues WIN10 reg and Flight1 LDS767 bad-license to name the more difficult one's. But in a way I even enjoy the process of resolving these issues because I usually learn new things during the process. I have only one issue right now is with FS9 : PSS B757 and PSS B777, when I install either I get the same line in WIN10/Control Panel/ programmes: both come with a line : Just flight PSS B757 . No problem I'think but after installing PSS B777 and then whenever I fly in FS9 and whenever I click menu item: [Flights] the sim complete freezes.............. Something to do with : Folder structure in FS9/PSS/B757 B777 flights................. Be happy, stay safe, love the family and see you 'up there' Peter
  23. I want to go all around the FS2020 world, but for the 'less and moderate' equipped' simmers I'd say , the available and required specs in my pc will determine where I can go......................... WIN10 I76700, GTX1050TI4, 16GBDDR4, SSD500GB
  24. I think the most important thing is that we pay our deepest respect to the Sites that keep the older 'Sims' alive by maintaining and still upgrading their File-Libraries for the 'old sims'. (FS9 - UTUSA FSSE)
  25. Well, more I thought about it, more I came to the conclusion that there was nothing wrong with my FSX SE setup in itself. Even the extra folders in C:\ProgramData and User/AppData/roaming... etc. were all correct placed and filled. There was one source that provided the answer for me: https://www.simforums.com/forums/topic57694.html I was very reluctant to dig into the registry myself, but thanks to 'the big G...' there's enough information available to stay 'on the safe side'. I found there was 1 small value in the registry that caused my problem: in my registry under: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator - Steam Edition there was a sub-value present: [10.0] I was sure that this was a 'left-over' from my previous FSX Boxed edition. However this was only the 2nd time that I ever entered the registry. But I pulled myself together and rightclicked and deleted this value. (Now all my previous attemps were with a clean first Install of FSX SE(nothing added yet) Whenever I do a total reinstall of any of my Sims (FS8, FS9 FSX) the very first thing I do is make a full 'backup' on a spare Partition. (not the same as were the Sim itself is installed) I do a lot of tweaking myself, it's a never ending story and I am glad for that. But a 'backup' of the first clean install is for me essential. I backup FS9 after i've added the FS9.1 update and the FS9_noCD patch) So I restarted my PC, I began to sweat a little, I restarted FSX SE and thanks all it flew without a problem. I said to myself : 'It's now or never........' I started the UTX USA installer, as a I experienced with my previous attemps it installs just fine. However during this install I was only offered to install the Flight Simulator X - Steam Edition version where in my previous attemps I was given a choice between the Boxed and Steam Edition, this to me was an extremely positive sign, I began to smile just a little ................... I had to browse several times to my FSX SE: location : C:/Steam/Steamapps/Common/FSX ( no SE here!!!) and the Installation completed succesfull as had been the case with all my previous attemps. After the completed Installation the UTX Setuptool has to open. It was at this point where all my previous attemps failed when I got the 'error message' But this time ,thanks all, no error message but a full running 'UTX setup tool' I could not believe my eyes after nearly 2 weeks of reading hundreds of posts on this issue. Almost coming to a point where I would either throw all my flightsims in the bin or rebuild my Windows10 from scratch. now it was working and I got : thanks to the FSIM community for providing all information regards Peter
