  1. FSUIPC should be no problem. If it asks for your registration code after transfer just pop your registration code in again. Or can download the latest version and install it the normal way and use the code you say you have. John
  2. Hi Bernard, I haven't used Toni's sceneries for many years (a shame, given the work he has out into them) for the reasons you give. As a compulsive meddler, I am sure I would have tried every possible method to eliminate these things, and my recollection is that the way the scenery is written does not make this possible without removing a lot of things that you don't want to lose. John
  3. AI traffic will park at a parking space nearest their size (if unoccupied), in the order defined in the AFD file. There are other factors too, e.g., whether the aircraft is defined as "RAMP", "GATE" etc and airline codes in the aircraft.cfg. In FS's default airport files, parking positions are often defined in numerical order so the observation you read is often true by pure coincidence. John
  4. The difference between your weather programme and FS's stated weather is almost certainly due to magnetic variation - one figure is true and the other magnetic. ATIS may be out of date, i.e. not reloaded since your weather refreshed. Try resetting the time by a minute and see if that changes it. John

    TDS Boeings

Have you considered using a comparable Boeing's flight dynamics for the aircraft you are having issues with? John

The static_pitch= setting in the [CONTACT_POINTS] section relates to how the aircraft sits on the ground. It won't affect in-air performance. The place you need to start to move the COG is in the [WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE] section but you will almost certainly have to fiddle with a lot of settings elsewhere too. It isn't a five-minute job, and I would recommend much reading up on the subject before spending hours tearing your hair out. John
  7. Who says it is closed? I am getting a message saying it is waiting for an upgrade and then it automatically transfers you to their forum. Suggest you ask on their forum rather than inviting questionable file-sharing here. John

    Lppt

That link works for me! Presumably the download you want is the one at the top of the list: FS2004 PPP Scenery It includesThe Airports of Lisbon LPPT, Porto LPPRand Faro LPFR,the Santa Cruz LPSCaerodrome andthe Lourinhã Ultra-light runway. File size :3.9Mb John
  9. FS9 should run fine if you install it according to these guidelines: Installing FS2004 into Windows 10 & Copying FS2004 from your OLD PC to your NEW PC (flightsim.com) John
  10. I concur with JSMR. I had a look at the scenery concerned, and there are a heck of a lot of textures there and just one could be the culprit. This is how I would go about it, I think it should work but will take a little patience: 1. Pause and save a position on approach where things look blurry. 2. Remove all textures to a safe place 3. Reload saved position and check that blurrys are gone. (If they haven't, don't bother further and write my idea off as worthless). 4. Replace about half of the textures, and test. 5. Continue adding or removing smaller amounts to achieve a good result. 6. Eventually, by elimination, the culprit will reveal itself. Hope this isn't a white elephant. John
  11. Another issue, again said to only affect certain computers, is caused by Landclass files for add-on airports being contained in a scenery file structure that has a texture folder. Again, though, this will only happen in the vicinity of the offending airports. John
  12. They shouldn't veer off, except with missed approaches. They really don't like being chased by user planes. If you use Traffic Toolbox to watch them, they should land correctly (although a few badly configured add-ons touch down so hard that they dematerialise). It isn't messed up. You may have previously accidentally changed the setting (it isn't the default) with a slip of the mouse in Traffic Toolbox, these things are easily done. Or maybe some other add-on that I don't know of had changed the settings. Anyway, glad to hear all is well now. John
  13. Fortunately, I can block that pointless and irritating video. You may be assured that FS2004 is not discriminatory by country. Nor is it bothered about assigned altitudes - ATC will simply ask AI to climb if there is a mountain in the way. Firstly, have you tried reinstating the default AI to see if it is active. Secondly, make sure your traffic setting slider is at 100% Thirdly, if you have Traffic Toolbox installed, check Tools > Traffic Toolbox > Settings: make sure General Aviation and IFR & VFR are both selected. There are a lot of possibilities to consider here, many of which cannot be answered without more knowledge of your setup and configuration. A sample single flightplan would be useful. John
  14. That is a Direct-X file. There are different ones for 32-bit and 64-bit. They should both be in the Windows system file structure. The chances are that the one you had was for the wrong version. John
  15. Under Community Modifications > Phraseology. The actual phrase identifier is AC_TWR_POSITION_AND_HOLD. Make sure this is selected as active. Then Ctrl-U to update in the normal way. John
  16. Typically this indicates the need for Visual C++ files, but check the steps here: Unable to play Flight Simulator 2004 and receive error missing - Microsoft Community John
  17. It would seem not. :) The aircraft will of course need installing under Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft but the traffic files have to be in a scenery directory (folder) identified in your Scenery Library. "when I opened the folder nothing had changed" - I don't think anything should "change" in a folder, the changes should be seen when you fly in FS. Detailed installation instructions should accompany the downloaded files and the CalClassic site has a really helpful forum for assistance: Files: Classic AI Airliners, GA, & Traffic (calclassic.com) Forum: Home | CalClassic Forum (proboards.com) John
  18. Just changing file names in an existing sound.cfg file will rarely produce the desired result. The sound.cfg includes numerous settings for RPM, volume etc at various speeds and ranges. There is an old utility called FS Sound Studio still available (FS Sound Studio: Microsoft Flight Simulator Sound Configuration Editor) which will make changes and code them accordingly. Unfortunately, it is incompatible with recent Windows versions but I have an old, unconnected, Windows XP machine which I use almost solely for such work and then move the file to my current PC. John
  19. Reinstate the original AFD file and see if that restores things. If you have used AFCAD2 to make your changes, it will automatically delete any "excludes" in that file. John
  20. I believe the aircraft radius is stored in the MDL file, so it stands to reason that if you alter one, you alter all of that type. You would need separate MDL files for each aircraft if you want to set them at differing sizes. But surely it is better to use parking codes? I really don't recommend using AFCAD2 these days, it is horrendously outdated and can damage airport files that have features it doesn't recognise. Consider using AFX or ADE for your airport modifications. John
  21. . . . or do an internet search for "remote procedure call failed", there are lots of pages discussing how to fix this. Just beware any suggestions to download some sort of file that would fix it - you don't know where they have been. Far better to fix the computer than trying to find a workaround. John
  22. Hi Carlos Something you could experiment with to see whether another file interfering would be to temporarily put your AFD file in a newly created scenery file structure and put that in your Scenery Library so that it loads after everything else. If that doesn't resolve the issue then there could be something drastically wrong with your AFD file but I think that's unlikely. I would also recommend you consider moving to using AFX or ADE - AFCAD2 is dark ages stuff for FS2002 and can break things in FS9. John
  23. Try switching to Windowed Mode, temporarily reducing the size if necessary, and position the window centrally. Shut down, restart, then revert to your preferred window settings. Hopefully that will do the trick. John
  24. Glad you are sorted. Enjoy your flights. John
  25. The file fs9.cfg would have been created when you installed from disc. In Windows 10 it will be at a location similar to this: C:\Users\Yourname\AppData\Roaming\Micxrosoft\FS9 The files at such locations are hidden by default, you may need to "show hidden files" to see them. I would advise against copying the old fs9.cfg across. This file contains settings specific to your computer. As you are moving files from a different computer you could find some of the settings are unsuitable. The file Traffic.bgl is for the FS9 default AI traffic. If you have created your own custom AI traffic you will have created traffic files under other names. These are usually located in Flight simulator 9\Scenery\World\Scenery . If both the aircraft and traffic files have been copied from your old installation, they should be working. Check your FS9 settings: Settings > Traffic > Air Traffic. John John
