  1. I have never seen one. There is a FS2002 scenery at AVSIM but of course this does not come with a dedicated AFD file. But it seems to work with the FS2004 default: cyxy_v1_0.zip There is an elevation fix etc at AVSIM, which seems to be compatible with the above: whseyt.zip I have only checked these very quickly so if you do find issues I apologise. Or you could roll your seleves up and do as suggested here: https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/417425-cyxy-whitehorse-intl/ John
  2. Check the wind direction. FS will choose runways based on 1) wind direction, 2) runway length, and 3) runway closures. When there are multiple runways, it will also direct you to the nearest available (per the above) runway to your starting spot. I have checked and if you are using the defult KDEN Denver, 2 & 3 above are not an issue. Try setting the wind manually in FS to around 7 degrees which should force take-off on 07. John
  3. KAGC ILS28 is aligned to position you exactly at the end of the runway, you should execute a turn of around two degrees left to line you up just before you touch down. John
  4. I don't think it is possible. FS is designed for aircraft to take-off and land in the same direction. John
  5. You probably have deleted it fine. It will remain in FS Navigator until you update the database - have you done that? AI aircraft will happily fly to non-existent airfields, they just de-materialise when they get there - and re-materialise when its time to go home. You should bear in mind though that some sceneries install odd files in with the default files (and even sometimes over-write default files) and these can be easily overlooked during a manual removal. It is often worth checking the original install file provided to make sure all files are traced and removed. John
  6. This one? https://www.logitechg.com/en-gb/products/flight/flight-simulator-yoke-system.html#945-000004 The Specifications link states it is Windows 10 compatible, there is a setup guide to download if you follow the link to Support. John
  7. I have just looked at the layout of EGHH and Runway 8 is indeed a runway where aircraft have to taxi out along the runway and turn. That is undoubtedly the reason you were stymied. As you say, not realistic but at least you now understand why it happened. I suspect in real life smaller aircraft like the Dash 8 don't need to do so, and take off directly from the taxiway intersection point but FS's ATC doesn't have a means to establish which aircraft can and can't do that. John
  8. It is not a newish problem. Nothing has changed. A decision whether to clear aircraft to land or clear aircraft to take off is based on the distance the landing aircraft is from the runway - it is a fixed figure. If the landing aircraft hasn't reached that point, then aircraft will continue to take off - but normally they will be clear before the landing aircraft reaches the runway. This is how it is programmed and in most circumstances it works well. The one situation where it doesn't work perfectly is where taxiways do not take aircraft to the end of the runway and they have to taxi out along the runway and turn. This consumes valuable time against a simple take-off. There are a lot of reasons you could say "I assume by the way that ATC in reality doesn't behave like this" but the truth is that it is an extremely clever system. Every AI aircraft responds to orders just like the player aircraft, ATC doesn't fly them. So you are getting no more or less priority than the other aircraft around you, and maybe you might have been miffed to be on the other side and were held for ages awaiting take-off! It isn't perfect, and there are a variety of alternative add-ons available to replace it. None of them interact with other aircraft, FS's own ATC continues to do that with the sound off in the background. Instead the add-ons try to play catch-up by watching what is going on and then playing appropriate calls, generally after the event. John
  9. I am sure I am not alone in wondering what the solution is here? Do share. John
  10. Off topic . . . sorry. But a friend of mine used to sit with his friends with their legs dangling over the checkerboard, watching the planes coming in . . . great fun! John
  11. No need to party with money to try it. There's a button marked "Free Trial". John

    fs9 updates

All you have to do is put "fs9 update" (or similar) into a search engine https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/2795/flight-simulator-2004-update-v91/ and many other sites. John
  14. I was just suggesting you adjusted and used some of the flightplans there rather than create your own. But, yes, you could use GA Flight Planner but you would need to configure it to suit your circumstances first (distance, times of day, time on ground etc). For instance, you could adopt any of those Flightplans set to use the default Learjet for the Gulfstream. John
  15. Many moons ago I created these: https://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=&Name=&FileName=worldga.zip&Author=john+hinson&CatID=root Might be a good starting point for your project? John
  16. If I read you correctly, you have chosen a non-steerable tailwheel and are now wondering why it won't steer? Without that you will have to turn with power/brakes. John
  17. The developer's words are at: https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/526557-fs-navigator/ The important bit is: "FSNavigator is not freeware, and in the future it will not freeware" If anybody said what you quote it was not the author. John
  18. I would not call FS's ATC stupid. A little over-protective sometimes, maybe, through being standardised when all airports are in reality different. That's why human beings manage ATC in the real world. The reason it appears to give take-off clearance early at some airports is that the entry point to the runway is not at the end of the runway and the aircraft has to taxi out to the end before actually turning and commencing take-off. John
  19. Have a look in your main FS directory and see if the file is present at all. If so, open it in a text editor and see if it is readable or gobbledygook. If only some of it is gobbledygook you may be able to salvage it but I suspect the only practical way to replace it is to copy the on from your FS install discs and then build it up with your add-ons. All of this assumes you don't have a backup to retrieve the file from, of course. I do not advocate using "system restore" as it can do some pretty drastic things at times, like completely deleting every cfg file that has changed since the last restore date set. John
  20. I previously said to not install it into Flight Simulator's directory structure. See https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/missing-msvcp120dll-file/f0a14d55-73f0-4a21-879e-1cbacf05e906 for the MSVCP120.dll problem. John
  21. Apparently FSRealFX has recently changed. Solutions discussed at https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?316628-Wind-direction-disregarded-by-ATC and elsewhere. John
  22. They shouldn't have to all be active, that's why you have the option to be selective. Over the years there have been many problems of textures not showing owing to duplicately distributed scenery libraries (some of which only provided textures needed for their own airport) but this is, I'm afraid, failure of the developers to understand how FS works and nothing to blame yourself for. The full solution is to keep the libraries in a separate scenery layer and remove all of the individually distributed ones. That is quite a fiddly task if you are not familiar with such things but it would allow you to deselect airports you don't want/need if you wished. John
  23. Kenny - it is a while since I downloaded it but when I did so the download was a file named FSrealWXv2_Setup_2040854.zip . If yours came with that or a similar name (as a zip file) you need to open it. Inside will be a file named FSrealWXv2_Setup.exe and running that file will install the weather programme. During the installation you can choose where to install it. Then you will need to start the programme each time you use Flight Simulator. John
  24. And there's me thinking this was a FS2004 forum, not FSX. You install FSRealFX to a directory of your choice, not into FS's directory structure. The setup programme will ask you where you want to put it. I believe that Lite and Pro are one and the same these days and it doesn't cost you a penny. John
  25. That TAS gauge shows the speed of the aircraft, not the windspeed. So it is recording you as moving at 6 knots in the direction you are facing. If your brakes aren't on, that isn't impossible with a tailwind. If there is any discrepancy it is the fact it is recording you moving at six knots when you think you are stationary but TAS is of no concern whatsoever whilst on the ground - you should use IAS: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/True_airspeed. I can't comment on ATC clearance to use that runway without knowing what airport you are at and which runways are closed to traffic. But the ATC messages you mention are correct for the conditions.
