  1. Well Microsoft finally posted system requirements and looks like 50Mb/s is the "Ideal" bandwidth...
  2. Help us to help you. Post you aircraft.cfg's for all instances of multiple objects
  3. Also, regarding ping. Remembering the movie Gamer where they talked about it. Thought ping was ping, didn't know it could be improved though. Must look into it.
  4. Yes... need all the advantage I can get. :) Found this comparison of all three and decided to go with Motorola MB8600. Power button is a big plus for me so I can turn it off when not on-line. Also looks like it has a well ventilated case. https://stickystatic.com/tech/sb8200-vs-mb8600 Can find it much cheaper then Amazon though
  5. Thanks Loki, Just did a Speakeasy Speed Test and get about 26~28 Mb/s, so good as is. However whenever I try to play a on-line shooter ie GTA V, I get out sniped :o probably because everybody has a faster connection. Milliseconds means life or death I guess. So still want to get a faster modem and at the very least, help the economy
  6. I use the newer version of XCOPY > ROBOCOPY robocopy /mir This will remove old files/folders from destination and replace with any changed or new files/folders It's right in your Windows for free!
  7. With FS 2020 needing a fast Gigabyte connection for good results, thought it was time to replace my reliable Motorola SB5101 Read to stay away from any modems with a Intel Puma chipset, such as a ARRIS SB6190. Don't need or want WIFI or router capabilities. So narrowed it down to these 3... ARRIS SB8200 SURFboard or MOTOROLA MB8600 or NETGEAR CM1000 Anybody recommend these or other?
  8. To further expand on MZ's correct answer, EACH and EVERY title in your ENTIRE Aircraft folder must have a unique name, even if it is by a single character. BTW deleting a texture folder won't fix it, you must correct this in the aircraft.cfg's
  9. Your welcome Also if you look throught the A2A forum, you will find a plethora of repaints for the Civilan so you don't have to mess with it.
  10. I have the Military and I know you can use Civilian but never did because it would be sacrilegious :) Here, I found a guide to do the very thing you requested (except in reverse)... https://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=93&t=32552 Two things, The cockpits are naturally quite different for each. If you have the Accusim for your Civ, it also works if you buy the Mil
  11. Four of the models I got are Alabeo (DA40, DA42, M20R and the R66) which I got from the Carenado website. All the rest are Carenado. I've noticed the Carenado sale starts first, which ended last Sunday. Then the Alabeo sale follows. Even if you buy from the Carenado website, you get a Alabeo. During sales, their website gets hammered. Last sale a few weeks ago, I had to get one at a time because the sale price was not being applied in the shopping basket. I might be wrong but I think their ALL Alabeo and Carenado is a publisher and rebrands the Alabeo's as Carenado. Keep trying. You will get it downloaded eventually!
  12. paint.net will complete the whole resize operation in 4 steps. .DDS textures are natively supported. SAVE YOUR ORIGINAL TEXTURES IN CASE YOU WANT TO RESTORE THEM BACK!!! Step 01 - OPEN the texture with paint.net. Example is the Carenado H25B. Step 02 - Select the Image>Resize from the drop down menu. Step 03 - Be sure "Maintain aspect ratio" is selected. Change Pixel Size Width to half 4096>2048. Height will automatically change. Step 04 - DO NOT "Generate Mip Maps" or aircraft will be blurry! Save as overwriting texture. DONE. Repeat for next texture.
  13. Also you mentioned the Hawker H25B from Carenado. Have that and I thought (without looking) it came with a Lite version for low spec systems.
  14. EXCELLENT free tool is paint.net. I use it to resize all the QW787 textures down from 4096 32bit to 2048 DXT5 so I don't OOM out my FSX. I you want to try your hand at repaints, you'll want to get the Photoshop PSD plugin. Also for large textures, found it necessary to go with 64gb memory (Could actually use more). Not required if your just resizing down single textures at a time. Of course Photoshop also needs plenty of memory to do a whole livery.
  15. Is this happening with default aircraft or are you using a high memory usage aftermarket such as QW 787 or PMDG? If you are using a aftermarket aircraft, try using a default repaint. In the case of QW 787, they are 2048 DXT5 textures. Most painters produce 4096 32 bit liveries that will push memory to the limit. If you have FSUIPC4, it has a built in OOM memory monitor. Will start chiming when it gets close to running out.
  16. Error: Could not download and save the manifest. Can't update or download new files. Anybody else with this issue? I have all the prerequisites installed. I think maybe firewall blocking downloads? What are the names of the ORBX Central files that I would need to allow access? THANK YOU P.S. ORBX Forums tells you to post your central.log then don't offer any advice to fix it
  17. Coronavirus keeping everybody home?
  18. Try right clicking your notepad.exe (Or whatever it is your using to open the .cfg files with) and "Run as administrator" FIRST. Then navigate to and open the .cfg file. You may have to change the dialog box to open all file types. See if you can save it. Another option is to use notepad++ https://notepad-plus-plus.org/downloads/
  19. I never saw that one. Just the Boeing 737 status and crash reports which he never mentioned the name of his own plane. Thought he meant a power off landing would be to shut the engine off! :p Goodthing I don't fly a real plane. Instructor: "OK, now were going to do a power off landing" Me: "CLICK" Instructor: "WHAT DID YOU DO THAT FOR!!!???" Restart it before we die!!!" Me: :o
  20. ge·ner·ic /jəˈnerik/ 1. characteristic of or relating to a class or group of things; not specific. "chèvre is a generic term for all goat's milk cheese" Similar: general common collective nonspecific inclusive all-inclusive all-encompassing broad comprehensive blanket umbrella sweeping universal cross-disciplinary interdisciplinary multidisciplinary Opposite: specific (of goods, especially medicinal drugs) having no brand name; not protected by a registered trademark. "generic aspirin" Similar: unbranded untrademarked nonproprietary Opposite: branded derogatory lacking imagination or individuality; predictable and unoriginal. "generic dance-floor fillers" 2. Biology relating to a genus. noun noun: generic; plural noun: generics a consumer product having no brand name or registered trademark. "substituting generics for brand-name drugs" In other words, NO AI with America Airlines, Southwest, Saudia, Virgin, etc, etc, etc liveries Instead, Orbit Airlines, Pacifica, World Travel, Soar, Landmark, etc.
  21. I think you might be right Rick, found this at Wikipedia... Looking at the "S" and cooling ducts on the front OK, sorry for hijacking the thread
  22. Carenado also makes a nice payware D18 BTW. I watch Juan Brown @ blancolirio on Youtube and always wonder what this plane is he always stands in front of...
  23. Not sure if I saw any REAL airlines for the AI. Just generics again :( First thing I always did in all other previous FS's was to remove the fictitious airlines and replace them all with favorites. If so, Microsoft would have to license from all the airlines to use their logos (Even American Airlines?) and pass the cost on to the end product.
  24. He probably meant a 788v6aax.zip (787-800) or 789v6aax.zip (787-900), both in the FltSim library. I can't find a 787v6aax.zip which is most likely the 788 above. There are also 787-10's as 780v6, but no American Airlines
  25. The Camsim models don't support DX10 Preview. Have you tried switching it off?
