  1. If you you have FSUIPC4 installed (Not sure if you need to register for this function to work), it has a built in VAS monitor which can be displayed on screen and will make a 'chime' sound every 10 seconds when VAS falls below 250mb.
  2. Your on FSX for 8 straight hours? Are you on a x64 operating system? FSX Virtual Address Space (VAS) probably gets close to full. If you got Prepar3D, this would probably not be a concern. Even a real pilot would probably need to use the restroom. Can't you save your flight (restroom break), restart FSX and continue?
  3. True, however I still have old computers I built that have Windows 98SE, Windows 2000, Windows Vista x64 that still function fine with no support. Rarely take them on-line. Will do same with Windows 7 still have install DVD and saved all Microsoft stand-alone updates. I only have a few games that are played on-line (GTA V and Race Room Experience, etc) that I would put on Windows 10, besides FS2020. As long as it meets my criteria of course.
  4. I'm willing to get Windows 10 (on a separate bootdrive, long live Windows 7!) to use it, however if... I can't use it off-line in some manner, forget it. If it's a subscription service, forget it. EDIT: Also if it requires Periodic Entitlement Verification aka Grand Theft Auto V, then forget it. The reason I won't buy anymore GTA series.
  5. Possibly a 2 color LED that would indicate some function, if your LED only has a positive/negative lead, your right connecting to the 2 pin.
  6. Besides the computer below with HDD's I also have another with Crucial MX100 256gb and 512gb SSD's. I can't really tell much difference between the two. Perhaps a side by side comparison might reveal small improvements. With add-on SSD drives your going through SATA ports limited to 6gb/s. Eventually I will get a PCIe NVMe 512gb for Windows 10 and a 2TB for FS2020 that I will put in a PCIe adapter (since only have one socket). I expect that to be blazingly fast
  7. Did you ever think perhaps Microsoft would have never have started Flight Simulator 2020 if it wasn't for so many of us users refusing to sheepishly accept Windows 10? (Exception being mrzippy who refuses to accept anything except Windows XP :) ) I for one will put Windows 10 on a removable boot drive so I can use FS2020
  8. I originally tried EXACTLY that. However even in Safe Mode Win 7 wouldn't let me rename the gameux.dll It was far easier to rename the fs9.exe and didn't require any special permissions. I preferred not to mess with system files, and since I all ready had the special fs9.exe were not suppose to talk about, I renamed that and created a shortcut to it. I whole heartily 100% agree with this statement.
  9. I wasn't comfortable running a batch file on my computer from somebody I didn't know on the internet (and any consequences of renaming the gameux.dll for other games). However I did find his other options interesting... Went with option 2, renaming the file and creating a desktop shortcut. You could also probably make a copy of the original fs9.exe, rename it, and make a shortcut for it. Now when running the original fs9.exe, have to start twice as before or option B, click the shortcut for the above renamed .exe and Flight Simulator 2004 starts with no issues. THANK YOU jgf for the link as this solved my problem.
  10. Definitely, since fresh install. Hope if he's re-installing FSX again doesn't run into activation issues. If so might have to run the Microsoft FSX licensing tool.
  11. I have the need to start FS9 twice the first time (Only needs one start thereafter) and was hoping this registry trick would work. When I looked at the... HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\GameUX\S-1-5-21-1380981980-2726883197-928252028-1000 key, I had several games in there besides FS9, so I Exported the key as a backup. Then I deleted the key as suggested and I still have to double start FS9, so it didn't work. Also all the games that were in the registry folder went missing from the "Games" manager. So I Imported the .reg key back in to fix the missing games. Any other ideas?
  12. Best to not install any SP after main FSX install as the Acceleration addon will install the correct SP 1 and 2
  13. I have the Level-D The only thing I hate about it is the VC cockpit overhead controls are NOT 3D and detract from an otherwise awesome model.
  14. Well hard lesson learned. I would UNINSTALL, NOT delete folders for whatever is showing in your ADD/REMOVE for FSX. Then to try and fix your windows registry which is most likely a problem, try this tool from Microsoft... https://support.microsoft.com/en-hk/help/928080/error-1722-when-reinstalling-flight-simulator-x Then try a new FSX install and contact Microsoft via phone on activation first for the main FSX. Once that's successfully activated, install the Acceleration and activate that. I use to uninstall/reinstall all the time to fix problems. In your case you ONLY needed to fix one aircraft while your FSX was working fine. I last installed FSX about 5 years ago and only fix the issues at hand. Got sick and tired of all the time required to setup FSX, which is the most time demanding of ANY software I own. Live by the old saying, "If it aint broke, don't fix it" If you can't get your boxed FSX working, perhaps you should get Steam FSX. However you will run into new issues installing some boxed add-ons to the Steam version.
  15. Are you sure your not using some kind of "Demo" version? I don't have the CS 757 but DO have the QualityWings 757 and have no such issues. They also lowered the price to $15.00 USD and now use Flight1 activation rather then the horrible Virtuali Addon Manager when it first came out.
  16. EXCELLENT! I would think the VC is more complex to model then the whole aircraft so completely understand.
  17. Hi Paul, The exterior model is awesome. Curious if your model is merge-able to the default Learjet 45 model interior VC for those of us who like flying with a VC cockpit?
  18. My experience with a AlphaSim B-24 Liberator Boxed. I noticed on the renamed Virtavia web site, they had a free Tanker version add-on for the B-24. I contacted them and they told me the update would not work for the boxed version. So he gave me FREE links for the download version AND the add-on. Didn't even ask for any proof of sale. Guess you just need to contact the website and see what they can do.
  19. Option 1: Step 1: Rename the A220's Sound folder to Sound.DISABLED (Or whatever you choose), Step 2: Drop whatever complete Sound folder with all the .wav files you want into the A220 folder. The A220 should then use the new folder sounds. Option 2: Step 1: Rename the A220's Sound folder to Sound.DISABLED (Or whatever you choose), Step 2: Create a new Sound folder in the A220's folder. Step 3: In the above newly created Sound folder, alias to a existing aircraft by adding a Sound.cfg (Text file renamed from .txt to .cfg) as the example shows in the following... [fltsim] alias=B737_800\Sound Your A220 should then use the sounds of the existing aircraft.
  20. Wish you would update model so can merge to the FSX A321 VC. Would then be a awesome aircraft. Instead I deleted it.

  23. Hey Mr. Zippy, your of advanced intellect. Can you try making the VC merge and see if you can make it work? EDIT: I just tried merging to the default A321 VC, didn't like that either.
  24. My FSX.cfg says See_Self=1 Invisible aircraft was due to attempt to merge a330 VC, OK with out it. So I guess I don't owe you any explanation!
  25. 350v6qrx.zip will do. Showing the Airbus House livery which is a different download. Yes on Acceleration in DX9 mode. EDIT: I tried merging a Thomas Ruth A330 VC (from toma332b.zip) to it and it didn't like it  OK without it in DX10...
