  1. I remember flying Flight Sim on the Commodore 64 :) that sim took up ALL of the memory (according to an article I read), the programmers used every byte that was available.
  2. Got it fixed!!! Another poster asked me to look and see if I was flying Legacy settings, instead of Modern. I was switched the settings to Modern, and I am in the air again!
  3. To Steve and KiloWatt, Steve-I've checked the trim, nothing duplicated (was hoping, grrr, lol) KiloWatt, the only reason I used flaps was a desperate move to get off the ground, and it actually helped, for about 5 seconds before I nose dived into the ground. I see the AC accelerating, get to around 60 knots, pull back and it only goes to 5 degrees pitch up, and that is it. Tried the keyboard with the USB device unplugged, did not help. It's almost as if there is a rope holding me back. Tried other planes, they took off without a hitch. Just the stock 152/172 cannot take off.
  4. Well, ever since the sim updated itself, I have been unable to fly the 152/172, both AC will only go to 5 degrees up, no further. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. Not sure what else to do :)
  5. Is it in the drop down menu you have while in flight?
  6. I tried looking for those words, however, when I right clicked it, there was no option to repair, etc. Oh well, its decompressing now :)
  7. Well, MSFS has won. It has been uninstalled. Even that took a while, was not in my add/remove program list. Thus, I could not repair it. Congrats Microsoft, you have won For now :D Going to try a new install :)
  8. Found out it is NOT my USB flight stick. Unplugged it, tried flying with just the keyboard, same behavior.
  9. I can fly other aircraft without any problems, it's JUST the stock 152/172 I also removed the entire 172 directory, could not figure out how to redownload it, so I copied it back. I did rename the aircraft.cfg (only file with today's date on it), hoping it would be recreated once the sim started. Well, the sim would not even start, so I renamed it back (took the old portion out) and the sim started, but still can't take off. Tried lowering the weight to zero, that did not work either.
  10. Did not help, had no fuel, no pilots, took off with full flaps, then, again, nose dived into the ground. Grrrrrr
  11. Just tried that, no difference. Funnny thing is, I loaded up another plane, and it works like it should (no autopilot, lol), no, the autopilot was not on Is there a way to rest the config for the 172, delete something (??) then have it reloaded. Might lose some custom settings, but right now I am trying everything.
  12. I've got it over 97 knots, still can't take off. If I need to config something differently, don't mind doing it, just not sure what to adjust??
  13. That is a worry for me as well. Tried adjusting my joystick config, did not help, could not get above 5 degrees up. What plane should I try next (similar to the 172?? Tried the 152, same results.
  14. Found the trim, thought that might have been the problem, the button the joystick had changed (was a view button I used all the time pre-update), was changed to nose trim. However, did not change anything in flying, had to use full flaps, got a few feet off of the ground before stalling and plowing into the trees
  15. Not sure, trim is something I usually don't mess with, however, I will look at it (just not sure where to loook??)
  16. Tested another flight, weight was just 2 pilots, 48%. Full flaps got me off the ground and then nosed dived down.
  17. I just tested it myself. I was doing 97 down the runway, still would not take off, usually 55 is my sweet spot. Sigh.....................
  18. I've had that problem as well, going to the parking spot and a fuel truck attempts to defy the laws of physics (an object cannot occupy the same space as another object). :) Course, my realism settings are LOW!!!! But still.........
  19. Going through the sim marketplace will cost me $99 I am starting to realize that if you did not buy the FULL PREMIUM one first, if you want to upgrade, you will have to pay full price.
