  1. Thanks Johnyyz, you provided the last piece of the puzzle. I was missing that portion in my keyboard bindings, and I had it filtered out. Now I can increase the sim up and down :) I made it the R + (number keys) to increase R - (by the numbers keys) to decrease. Took off from KJAX, took off, used AP to start the climb to 1000 feet, increase the sim rate and SHOT up!!!! lol
  2. I dont think so. From what I've read others are wanting this feature. My question is, How did you get it to speed up? I've tried and failed.
  3. I have a similar setup as the original poster. In fact, same graphics card. I did not adjust the graphic's setting that the game recommended, but, my resolution is only 1600 X 900, I know others crank it up. If yours is set to a high setting, try lowering it. My frame rate, flying around Jacksonville, FL is around 30-40 FPS. Now, as I get closer to the city, it will freeze for about 4-5 seconds, guessing it is loading things, but then it smooths out Also, I will throw this in, but, is your GPU running the latest drivers? Crazy question I know, but sometimes we may over look something obvious :) (happens to me every day, lol)
  4. Thanks Rick. I was using Airnav.com (saw it in a video) and just needed the confirmation. Thanks!
  5. Crazy request, I know. Trying to improve my ILS skills. Flying from KCRG to KJAX (short flight) on ILS. I feel the ILS freq I need is 110.5, but I would like confirmation, just to ensure that I am reading the chart correctly :) Second, does one use the CDI on the Garmin while flying the C172 for ILS? I have searched for this answer and have been unable to find it. If there are any videos available to watch and learn that would be greatly appreciated!
  6. Oh, did not know that about the 172, will take another look. Thanks Edit-well, there is only 1 Cessna 172, and I was able to figure out the distance trick you were talking about :) That's the good news, the bad is, still cannot get the sim rate to accelerate . Does it matter if the auto pilot is on? I had it on initially, then turned it off for this test
  7. Your English is fine :) I appreciate you taking the time to help. The part I am struggling with it using the Garmin. Is that available on the stock Cessna 172?
  8. Having read the key bindings ingame, I see that the "R" key is the key used to increase the sim rate and using the + and - keys. However, while up in the air, I select "R" and + and I only zoom in. I have tried holding the R key down and using + (zoom inwards) I have hit "R" and used the numeric keypad + (nothing). I read to use Ctrl + (which I have done, nothing). Can anyone assist me on this?
  9. Is there a way to have a default airport (like in FSX)? I know I could (and have) just type Jacksonville, scroll down to the bottom of the list and pick KJAX, but having it default would be nice :)
  10. I can relate with what you are going through. Even though I am not a novice (nor an expert by any means), this sim takes a while to get used too. Watch the Video's, they will help a LOT!!! Bevo Devo is a good one for auto pilot. I also found this video which taught me more about the autopilot. I was able to finally take off from KJAX, go south towards the Jacksonville Skyline, set up the AP to just fly the plane, while I looked at the scenery. Was very enjoyable. Now I have ventured further out, honing my skills. It can be done :)
  11. Yep, had that happen today actually. My little Ole Cessna kept going loops, all on her own :)
  12. Just have a couple of questions concerning MSFS Is there a way to toggle the instruments that show up in the External View? Is there a way to display framerate, airspeed and heading (like it was in FSX) while in external view? (yes, I am aware that the instruments do display most of what I am asking, lol)
  13. Bevo Devo does have some good You Tube videos. I also found this one, which helped explain a few points not covered in others
  14. After reading the manual (again, lol) and thinking about my procedures, it occurred to me what the problem "might" be. I use Sky Vector's to set up my Flight Plan. The first place it has is my takeoff location, which in some cases is 1-3 miles from where my plane actually is. I take off and the AP tried to fly to the first waypoint, which is where I left. I eliminated the first waypoint (airport in this case) and things have improved. Still not 100%, but better, I also found out that if I have to do (for example) a hard left turn, that the AP may not recover and stay on the path. I have to turn the heading bug to where the plane will eventually intersect the flight plan on the GPS, once there it picks it up and continues. If it is a very small turn, it usually handles it without any problems.
  15. Thanks Gordon, I will give it another going over :)
  16. Yes, I have done both. Does not help.
  17. I am brand new to the X-plane, however, quite familer with FSX. I am using the stock Cessena 172, have read and watched everything that I can with regards to using the GPS/waypoints. I thought I had it down, however, no matter how simple the flightplan (KJAX to KCRG), does not work I take off from KJAX, put the nav switch to GPS (already have the flight plan loaded), ensure that I click NAV on the GPS, then set my VS and then ALT. However, the flight path that I am suppose to take does not show up on the GPS. I know the GPS is working, I can select HDG and steer that way. Suggestions?
