  1. Important to know, not guess at the vernacular for the particular area in question. It's part of the education process so mistakes aren't made. The problem here is we don't know which sim this refers to..? The terminology will be the same for all aircraft, but how you learn and access that information can be sim-dependant.

Dial 1 is for the ADF #1 and Nav#1 (the answer is in your picture - the mouse held over the gauge as a `tooltip`) Dial 2 shows the radar altitude used when close to the ground as a `local` guide[ There is no sound but the yellow light lights up when the selected altitude is reached. Again, these are all standard instruments covered by the Learning Center in the sim. For the Duke ALL controls including flying guide are explained in the supporting manuals - found under Real Air Simulations in your basic Windows Start menu.
  3. Do you know about pitch, cyclic and rudder controls and how they relate to the concept of helo flight? If not, read the Learning Center in the sim. Increasing the throttle is but one of the three things that are needed for a helicopter to take off.

The Diamond DA62 is nothing like the Duke: It has piston props at 180 horses a side, albeit a pair of diesel-powered props; no pressurisation; no cabin entry or airstairs; about 2/3rds the cruise speed and about one third the climb rate! There are also major differences in the instrumentation - the Duke is about a generation-and-half behind the DA62, originally certified in 1968 (and the turbine conversion in 2006). The analogy falls behind in the number of seats as well - The Duke is a six-seater while the Diamond is certified in five- and seven-seat versions... The only commonality is they are both twins! Its like comparing a Tigercat to a Dakota, or a Mosquito to an F-22! As a sim aircraft the Turbine Duke is a generation behind with instrumentation (the DA62 does not come with analogue instruments because the real aircraft doesn't) and is, of course, part of a development team that is no more...
  5. Have you reinstalled SimConnect? Redist folder, FSX directory. Install ALL the Simconnect variants.

  8. Thrustmaster file goes on the same drive as the OS. Yes, you understand the Symlink concept just fine. The main gain is from files only loaded once at start up, like aircraft and scenery. I would also suggest creating a separate folder for aircraft you AREN'T flying to avoid cluttering the SSD with addon aircraft you don't need - ALL defaults should be kept on the SSD, but create a folder called `Hangar` for temporary storage of any addon aircraft you don't need for that session - Just drag/drop the unneeded aircraft folders into the Hangar (dont worry about gauges, sounds or any other files) and you can quickly move it back if you need... This does not need to be Symlink-created, just a bog-basic folder on the HDD

  10. Running out of VRAM? Try pausing the sim for 30 seconds and watch the drive light flicker as RAM is recovered. When it stops flickering, unpause and continue the flight...
  11. Ng = Gas generator rotation speed indication. Ng indicates power output of the engine. Pilots and Ground Crew reference the Ng speed to determine the engine power setting. For example: In PT6A-27 turbo-prop engine, gas generator speed is 37,500 rpm at Ng = 100 %. Maximum Ng = 101.5 percent corresponding to 38,000 rpm. Ng = 52+1 percent at ground idle condition.   12. Take off before applying ANY autothrottle or autopilot setting, and double check the settings are correct before actually switching the a/p on. Autopilot and Autothrottle are two separate functions.
  13. Default key commands are programmed into the sim. Same for the slider commands, but they can be changed, including reversing the senses. Use the GUI within the sim to make a new selection for throttle, aliased to whatever control you wish to use, tick the reverse box. Done! Where are you in the UK John? there must be an established simmer nearby who could help with this most basic of tasks? It's no more than five minutes to setup!

Update the SSD if that's an option: It makes no sense to have OS on the faster drive without the sim ALSO on the SSD, but you will need a bigger SSD - 512 GB as a recommended minimum, and even then some addons you might purchase would be better off on the HDD. Otherwise, OS on SSD, and Sim on HDD makes (ludicrous) sense...
  15. Then it is NOT calibrated... All you do is set it up individually so that the joystick controllers replicate the desired aspects you are trying to replicate. This means changing the joystick so that applies the correct access to the correct control, and in the correct direction (perhaps reverse the controls). Always replicate movement by reference to the virtual controller, not some GUI. `Max=Max` is the only mantra you need.

The zip files need to be extracted to work, but certain files IN the download may need installing `as-is` to the relevant folders - .cab files for example or .wav files for sounds. Please expand your question as it is unclear whether you are asking what needs be done to the .zip file? These must be extracted after download.
  17. I would argue that is representative of `toxic femininity` as there are many female military pilots and to deny anyone the opportunity to simulate military aircraft denies this FACT. However the problem may lie with getting permission, and that's certainly more of `toxic` problem - Scumbag lawyers rule the roost these days...
  18. Is it calibrated within Prepar3d calibration? Does it show a response to movement of the throttle control?
  19. Price - or method of continuity of `membership` . I dont have anything `XBox` in my house, and wont be starting anytime soon... Method of entry - continuous subscription doesn't work - I have very limited simming time Lack of developer contribution. Past history - their interpretation of `simulator` might not reflect mine. Lack of skill - who are the developers? Any history in the industry? Hardware requirements - not buying a new rig for MSFS. Like most sensible simmers I am holding back until it's out, bugfixed, and requirements for computing power and methods is known and understood FAR better than it is at the moment.

  22. Oh really? Care to prove that? While you may be able to use some FSX aircraft in P3D (and I emphasise `some`) you will be unable to introduce P3D aircrfat to FSX, as the OP asks.
