  1. Seems to me, this sim isn’t geared toward the simmer who files a flight plan and simulates being a RW pilot. More for low and slow flying, to admire the scenery. Kind of like ORBX products. Maybe it will be in the future, but not right now?
  2. It took me several years and lots of money but I have FSX just the way I want it. FSDT airport and ground services bring life to my airports. GEX and UTX enhance the scenery. REX 4 makes my skies, clouds, water etc look damn good. Real life airlines, both user and AI, thanks to the old Traffic X program and the library here. Several add on aircraft, payware and freeware. Megascenery Earth Nevada for photoreal scenery of my state. (Ok, no weather changes nor 3D buildings and such, but that’s ok) So I can definitely wait before taking the FS 2020 plunge.
  3. It’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
  4. I’m surprised reading the “too much of a learning curve” comment. I thought the whole point of flightsimming was learning new things, experimenting, etc... Remember when FSX came out? Tweaking and experimenting was both frustrating and interesting.
  5. I used to think the MD-11’s were old DC-10’s. Lol
  6. Damn... you must’ve really wanted this.... lol Longest download I ever had was a scenery pack... a whopping 45 minutes... I’m not as patient as you!
  7. The jack screw fear is legit, although like you said, the Alaska Airlines disaster happened in 2000, and since then maintenance procedures and the screw itself were corrected. (Sadly, it always takes a major disaster for change to be implemented). I see Fedex and UPS planes and they’re mostly the 757 and 767’s now. FedEx is slowly retiring their MD-11’s.
  8. It’s day one of an extremely anticipated sim. All over the country and the world folks are downloading it. Of course it’s gonna be slow. Bottlenecking the system.
  9. I always wait. Games notoriously release with issues that need to be fixed later. Remember FSX needed two service packs, I.E. patches. And even now, issues still remain (default taxi lights not being lit on the plane, reverse switches, etc)
  10. Allegiant flies to lesser known airports in real life. They started with the MD-80’s and now fly the Airbus. I live in Vegas so I see them (and Southwest) all the time. By the way, Allegiant doesn’t fly out of Vegas on Tuesdays. That’s their maintenance day. Great shots man!!
  11. I saw that too... Just newcomers thinking this is just another video game, like GTA or something. They’ll be the first to reject it because they can’t create a massive crash with damage..
  12. I’m good with computers, but not THAT good... that reads like a foreign language to me.. lol
  13. “ spent a few bucks and bought two dual NVMe carriers”. What are NVMe carriers?
  14. That’s it with me too. I have some classic games I still play that came out long before W10 was even in development. To change now would make those games obsolete.
  15. I don’t need to stick with W7, it’s my choice. After reading about issues others had with W10 and FSX Not playing nice together, I said “no thanks”.
  16. Um, yay you? Considering I waited 3 years after FSX was released before I finally purchased it, I’m not doing anything of the sort. New games usually come out with bugs/issues until a patch or two. (SP 1 and 2, anybody??) plus, flying default non-airlines, Generic airports, etc just isn’t my thing. I have way too many cool ass addons in FSX to just give them up like that. Not to mention I still use W7 and don’t feel like upgrading to 10 right now, and dealing with those issues as well. So while the vids on YouTube look great, I’m a patient guy.
  17. I believe it’ll be like past versions. You can select cold and dark, partial startup, or already running.
  18. NUNYA (None of your business) Not to sound harsh, but why are you concerned with which versions others may buy??
  19. My first ever flight game? Fly! 2. LEGO blocks as clouds.... lol. Then I “move up” to Flight Unlimited 3. Could only fly in and around Washington State. Only jet was a Lear I think. I finally bought MSFS 2002 because of my wanting to fly a jumbo jet, anywhere in the world.
  20. There are a bunch of user gameplay videos now. Guess the NDA was lifted..
  21. What I like to do is search my own name and check out my very first screenshots I ever posted here (FS9) and realize how far I’ve come as far as quality goes...
  22. My opinion. I have a spare desktop that has W10 installed and the updates cause other non gaming programs to crash.
  23. W10 is crap. I’m not shelling out for a gaming rig (money is tight thanks to the Wuhan China Virus) Demanding? No. But a first day purchase? No. There will be bugs and such out of the gate as well, so it’ll be better to wait. My opinion.
  24. It’s not just that, it’s that my current FSX hangar is stocked with some great aircraft. I hate the idea of upgrading and having to wait for the same ones to be made...
