Yeah I got distracted. A party was happening in the back...🤭

KEED-KSMO on its way!
Route : TNP - POM - SMO
ETE : 1:27

Oh my. Hair raising approach to get in on the runway.  Screenshot12053.thumb.jpg.7eabdafa0d9c35d9ae10b6c21753aa1d.jpg

But first things first...the take off.  Ready to go. Got my game face on. This the one.  Time off was 12:27 (2:27 local) according to FS9's flight planner.

Sneaking over some hills. Putting the coals to it to get it up and over.

Lef engine looking good!

Gotta get over the mountains. And we do.

Landed. And as you can the approach was....dicey. One word to describe it haha.  I saw the clock and knew I had to be on the ground at 3:54 to get a V0.

And as the clock shows......3:54 Local.

Meaning.........1;27 so a V0!!!!!

* if I am incorrect and I;ve badly misjudged basically everything to miss out on the V0....please let me down gently, perhaps slowly explaining it over the following 3 - 4.....years.

You had all legs V3 or lower.  That is still good precision and effort that you can be proud of! 🙂

I know ... but i really wanted to win the Suc-A-Lux Accessory Package consolation prize.  Already own the vacuum ...

I wanted to overfly Big Bear but plotted a course around the MOA and Restricted areas just to be sure.

Buck, thanks for the reminder.

PP, my revised Estimated time for leg 10 to KSMO is 55 minutes, as I am also routing around 29 Palms so I don't get in trouble with the FAA.

Adding Hector VOR to my flight plan.

AWESOME!  Great work! 🙂

I'm out of daily likes. LOL. Who would have thought in a virtual world you can actually run out of pixel likes?? 🤔 🫠

Thank you thank you!
After the disaster of the previous leg, I needed a biggie! It wasn't UNTIL the last leg I had seen the FS9 flight planner actually display the 'take off' time. 🫣

Either way, glad  to have finished. Was fun. Nuns of fun. I mean...tons of fun. 🤭😏

A woman's favourite toy they say,  What a privilege that as men ( technically I'm a man) we get to also enjoy using it. This sexist world of women being so discriminatory and not letting us use it is over!!

Lets all rejoice with the step in the right direction for humankind!! (I'd say mankind but some might object).

Who DOES win it?? Who's our winner??

I'm also running for the hills.  I'll be joining Sirrus in isolation...🤣

KFLG - KEED V3

KEED - KSMO V1

17 hours and 29 minutes with no time compression.

Gonna be a long time until I do THAT again!

Beautiful morning leaving Flagstaff.

image.thumb.jpeg.e20abb3610092bdbe2a42b07d1f3617f.jpeg

After LOTS of hills, finally Chino Valley. Yucca Flats is the next checkpoint (valley) after more hills.

image.thumb.jpeg.6c004e563324a9a2de2e5eabe28a2d59.jpeg

Yucca Valley, clouds building, may have to go lower and fight some turbulence.

image.thumb.jpeg.0b164ee2fab80fa200d63824ad84062e.jpeg

Goose Lake ahead, Needles has to be out there somewhere.image.thumb.jpeg.e88e3ec4e6f694d66a424c2821fa62c8.jpeg

Overhead of Needles, three minutes late, darned turbulence.

image.thumb.jpeg.0097ef4876bd603dc4de4360660620ca.jpeg

Entering Bristol MOA, better keep head on a swivel. Lots of low and fast out there.

There's 29 Stumps to the south. Many fond memories,

Big Bear, LA basin soon.

image.thumb.jpeg.7119e5e32d7be590d174867f5c9fe075.jpeg

Oh the wonderful smoggy LA sprawl, Been years and still looks the same.

image.thumb.jpeg.86758aeb04bbeef35a10e56928191a7b.jpeg

Santa Monica off the nose, the end is getting close.

image.thumb.jpeg.c2ac909702340a492619360faee87d6a.jpeg

And the crowd goes wild! Well, maybe no crows, but glad its over. I missed the allusive V0, but happy with the V1. Now to park, shut down, and meet the gang rest of the gang already at the beach.

Day 30 standings.

I removed the place (1, 2, 3, etc.) since it looks like we're going to have a tight finish.

I am going to again fly first and write the report later as the end of the month is today.  It was a lot of fun and I am glad that I was invited to participate.

Leg 10. Needles CA (KEED) to Hector VOR to Santa Monica Municipal CA (KSMO)
200 miles.  Estimated time = 55 minutes.

Here is the final picture from this leg, more to follow.  Parked at Santa Monica Municipal CA (KSMO).

This last leg was the most challenging for a few reasons which will be clear in my report.  I will complete my flight reports as soon as I can in flight order.

Leg 10. Needles CA (KEED) to Hector VOR to Santa Monica Municipal CA (KSMO)
200 miles.  Estimated time = 55 minutes.
Actual time = 54 minutes.  V1

While you're at it, get someone to look into this.

I built three airfields for FSX for the Silver Spitfire round the world flight (from 2019).  There were 3 missing airfields out of the 74 stops on the journey.  One of them had trees on the runway and it took about a month of trying every trick in the book before I finally solved the tree problem.
