  1. /images/notams/notams22/ift0906.jpgWe are very pleased to announce that in the past few days we havecompleted a build of the DCS MB-339 which we believe it is good forrelease: we are submitting it to Eagle Dynamics for final testing. The testing and release process will take some time, so do notexpect the module to be available in the next few days - but restassured we'll keep you posted on the release date. As a teaser, and a final recap of the features of the package, hereis the full product manual (no less than 272 pages!): we are veryproud of the level of detail and realism of the package and we hopethat the manual will help you appreciate it! Link To Manual Source
  2. /images/notams/notams22/ift0809.jpgFirst, we'd like to apologize for the lack of updates on thisproject: rest assured we have been working tirelessly to deliver anextremely accurate rendition of this aircraft. In these days we are completing a build which we will submit toEagle Dynamics as a release candidate. Contrary to other companies, our strategy on this aircraft, beingour commercial debut on DCS, is to deliver a module which is ascomplete as possible...and we think we are at a very good point. At the moment we think that the MB.339 will be fully featured atlaunch with two exceptions: Flight Director will not be functionalMulticrew will have the standard basic implementation (full state synchronization will come at a later date)Apart from these two features, the aircraft will be fullyfunctional and all the aircraft systems will be simulated in detailand very close to the flight manual. Release date will be announced by ED pending their testing andapproval, but we are confident it will not be too far away in thefuture. Source
  3. /images/notams/notams22/dcs0414.jpgWe have not been posting news of the DCS MB-339 in a while, but theproject is alive and kicking. It is taking way longer than what weenvisioned, but the key point for us is to deliver an extremelycomplete and realistic rendition of this aircraft. Here is a link to our latest Development Report focused for thisproject, with a detailed status report and an overview of the newfeatures and a notice regarding the Italian Air Force Liveries. In Italian service, the aircraft is intended to bereplaced by the newer Aermacchi M-345. /images/reviews/mb339a/t/indiafoxtecho-mb339-01.jpgSpecifications (MB-339A)Powerplant: Rolls-Royce Viper Mk. 632 turbojet engineSpan: 10.86 m (35 ft 8 in)Maximum Weight: 5,897 kg (13,001 lb) (with external stores)Capacity: 2 pilotsMaximum Speed: 898 km/h (558 mph, 485 kn) at sea levelMaximum Range: 1,760 km (1,090 mi, 950 nmi) (internal fuel)Cost and InstallationDownloading the product from store.flightsim.com was easy andstraightforward with just a couple of clicks with a mouse. Installingwas even easier, simply "drag and drop" the aircraft into thecommunity folder. I was surprised that there wasn't an .exe file torun for the installation, but even so it was really easy. At the time of this review the MB-339 was priced at a $23.43 fromstore.flightsim.com. /images/reviews/mb339a/t/indiafoxtecho-mb339-02.jpg DocumentationThe aircraft comes with a 65 page manual which details variousaspects of the aircraft. These include: Installation A list of updatesDesign specificationsCockpit layoutChecklist and proceduresCreditsA walk through start-up procedure is included within the manual toget you off the chocks quickly. Given how "old school" this aircraftis, there isn't a great deal of difficulty in getting her started. CockpitThe cockpit of the aircraft is made up of predominantly steamdriven gauges which shows just how old this aircraft is, althoughthere are signs that she has been given a few modern touches such ashaving a GPS on the right hand console. The modelling and texturingare superb, a lot of attention to detail has been given to give you asense of the aircraft being used intensively; this is only aided bythe implementation of PBR. As you look around the cockpit you can seewhere the paint has been worn away, all we seem to be missing is thesmell. /images/reviews/mb339a/t/indiafoxtecho-mb339-07.jpgAs well as the cockpit is modelled the system level is becomingmore comprehensive as updates come through. This version of the MB-339has been designed so that you can jump in and fly rather than havingto run through checklists and procedures but you of course can do justthat if you wish too. There isn't too much difference between the twocockpits included, the only notable difference is the gunsight. Speaking of the gun sight, I was disappointed that no symbologycan be displayed. I believe that it is a limitation of the sim at themoment due to lack of documentation with the SDK and that it will bepresent in the "Pro" version should that come to fruition. The rearcockpit is also not modelled which is a little disappointing as itwould have been nice to have even if it isn't a full in-depth systembased aircraft. Overall the cockpit is a lovely environment to fly from, themodelling and texturing is the usual high standard from this developerand given that this version of the aircraft isn't a "study level"add-on, the system depth is sufficient to be able to have a greatexperience and still feel challenged. ExternalInspecting the aircraft from the external view you can see theamount of love and attention that has been given to the details, shereally looks superb. The aircraft features PBR materials which adds anice effect particularly when the light hits the surfaces fromspecific angles. The pilot figures have to be my favorite part of theexternal model, they are really well detailed and have animationswhich add a level of realism that is a first for this developer. /images/reviews/mb339a/t/indiafoxtecho-mb339-03.jpgIncluded in the package are seven highly detailed 8K textures fromvarious air forces around the world that have operated the aircraftincluding the world famous aerobatic team, the Frecce Tricolori. As Ihad a look around the liveries included I was amazed at the level ofdetail that the textures have. There is a nice level of dirt appliedto give the impression that these old jet trainers have seen someservice. In real-life the aircraft can be fitted with various externalstores, however, in this rendition there is no option to toggle forany store which is disappointing and something that would have addedan extra level of realism and detail. Also at the time of writing thisreview, there is no ground equipment modelled such as chocks orblanks, also there is no smoke system due to a limitation within thesim, hopefully this will change as the SDK becomes more complete. Overall the external model is stunning and I am really impressed with it. SoundsInside the cockpit they have captured sounds for the switches, agentle humming in the background. The little murmuring sound theengine makes as it begins to spool up is lovely. I use a headset whenI fly and the immersion you can gain from the sound alone isincredible, it forces you to almost feel the engine throbbing. As youslowly increase the throttle, watching an increasing RPM, the soundbecomes a gentle roar. /images/reviews/mb339a/t/indiafoxtecho-mb339-05.jpgFrom the external views the sound this aircraft generates becomeseven more intense and changes as you pan around the aircraft. From thefront you can hear a high pitched howl as the air is sucked down theintakes and at the rear is where you get the lovely roar that isgenerated as you push the throttles forward. It is surprising how muchnoise can be generated from such a small little engine, but I wasimpressed with how well captured they seem when I compared them tovideos of the aircraft. It is worth noting that depending on the sound system you use willdepend on what experience you have, I use a headset and the immersionis fantastic. AerodynamicsThe flight dynamics are an interesting point I believe. We are in anew era for our flight simulation world and it is worth noting thatyou should not have the legacy flight model mode enabled. I found thatshe is quite tricky to control on the ground, particularly on thetake-off role, but this could be due to my rudder settings as I wasyawing all the way down the runway; how I didn't destroy myundercarriage is anyone's guess, but as mentioned I am putting thisdown to my control setup. Once the wheels leave the ground though, sheis a delight to fly. The design of a straight wing makes for a verymanoeuvrable aircraft and there is enough thrust to ensure that youleave the earth behind you with some pace. /images/reviews/mb339a/t/indiafoxtecho-mb339-04.jpgCarrying out aerobatics is quite fun, as I mentioned above theaircraft is quite manoeuvrable and carrying out loops and rolls arestraightforward and easy enough to carry out, I found that theaircraft handled them well although the developer does state that dueto the limitations of the sim the "Lomcovak maneuver" can not becarried out. I did struggle to stall the aircraft and even when I didthere were no warnings in the form of audio tones or cautions. I wasalso unable to spin the aircraft successfully. Circuits were a littlebit of a challenge at the beginning but once you have gotten used tothe controls of the aircraft then they aren't too difficult. SummaryMy thoughts on this aircraft can be summarised with one word -exceptional. Whilst it can't be labelled as a study level aircraft, itstill provides you with great challenges and a great sense ofachievement. It is worth noting that this is the first MSFS nativemilitary jet aircraft that has been built to a high standard without acomplete SDK (at the time of writing). Knowing the previous productsthat this developer has produced, I am sure the aircraft will only gofrom strength to strength as updates become available. Overall I would rate this aircraft a solid 8/10. /images/reviews/mb339a/t/indiafoxtecho-mb339-08.jpgPC SpecsRecommended: Due to the high-detail model and textures, we suggestto use the MB-339 on systems that meet or exceed the followingrequirements: CPU: 3.5 GHz quad core processor or betterGPU: at least 4 GB dedicated memory, Nvidia 960 or better recommendedRAM: 6.0 GB minimumHard Disk: 1.8 GB required for installationTest PC: Intel Core i7-9700K 3.6 GHz (Coffee Lake) Socket LGA1151 ProcessorCorsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200 MHzAsus GeForce RTX 2080 Dual OC 8192 MB GDDR6 PCI-Express Graphics CardMicrosoft Windows 10 Home AdvancedSamsung 1TB 860 EVO SSD 2.5" SATA 6Gbps 64 Layer 3D V-NAND Solid State Drive /images/reviews/mb339a/title3.jpgDale Ashcroft Purchase IndiaFoxtEcho - MB-339 for MSFS 2020 See other aircraft from IndiaFoxtEcho

  9. /images/notams/notams21/dino0908.jpgWe are releasing yet another update to the MB-339 which alsoincludes a number of changes/fixes requested by Microsoft for theX-Box release and have not been released previously outside of theMarketplace. The highlights of this new update are the new liveries such the onefor Al Fursan* Acrobatic Team and the Peruvian Air Force - but thething we are most proud of is that we have been working withaircraftstudiodesign - to bring the real world liveries they havedesigned for the MB-339 into the simulated world using the real worldartworks: we are starting with the Pony 0 special tail for the FrecceTricolori 60th anniversary included in this update...more to follow onthe next one! 10. /images/notams/notams21/dino0830.jpgA huge THANK YOU for your support and feedback after the launch ofthe Long-EZ and MB-339 on the XBox Marketplace - despite some minorissues it was a huge success. One thing we had not considered was the fact that XBox users do nothave access to the flight manuals (which we typically include as .pdfin the DOCS folder of each aircraft). Here are the links for the current versions: Long-EZ MB-339 Also, several users seem to have some difficulties with the smokesystem, so we have created a small video tutorial on this topic: We are working to bring the T-45 on the store too, but there aresome difficulties due to the HUD - we'll explain this at a latertime. Last, as we wrote on a previous post, the versions currently in theMicrosoft Store include some bug fixes that are not present in thenon-Store versions - it is our intent to align the version with afurther update ASAP. 11. /images/notams/notams21/dino0827.jpgNOTAM - Long-EZ And MB-339 Marketplace Update And Xbox ReleasesApparently, the Long-EZ and the MB-339 have been finally clearedfor release on the XBox and should be available in the next fewdays. Please note that, since Microsoft wanted us to change a coupleof minor things, the packages that will be available in theMarketplace will be SLIGHTLY more advanced than the ones availableelsewhere. This is because we had to include a number of minor fixeswhich were already present in our internal build but were planned fora later release along with other fixes/improvements. We will release afurther update to ALL the distributors soon. Here is the situation in detail: MB-339Version 1.3.1 - Miscellaneous fixes for Marketplace release Fixed bug causing landing/taxi light switch animation not to workFixed bug causing incorrect interaction while pressing the G-Valve test pushbuttonFixed reversed animation in Cabin Press switchFixed incorrect material assignment in ejection handle baseImproved mouse interaction with some knobs (altimeter setting, HDG and CRS)Fixed missing description localization for A-MLU versionTo do for the next update -> New engine dynamics, several graphicalimprovements...and a couple of surprises. Long-EZVersion 1.2.1 - Minor fixes for Marketplace release Improved mouse drag interaction on some switchesAdded missing component behavior to COM1 SWAP buttonFixed Aircraft DescriptionTo do for the next update -> New liveries We are also working on the T-45C, but we have some concerns as theHUD may not render correctly (or acceptably) on X-Box Series S due theresolution and image processing on that version. A similar issue mayexist on the X-Box Series X, but it should be less evident. We'll discuss this in detail in a future post. Source

This new versionimplements a new formula to calculate fuel flow indication, whichshould provide values closer to the real aircraft in manyconditions. However, actual fuel consumption (and range) is calculateddifferently by the sim engine: this is set to provide the best rangein most conditions, so actual range of the aircraft can be nowoverestimated at low altitudes (but should be correct and medium andhigh altitudes). ** NOTE: the smoke system is implemented to work as in reallife, that is, in order to operate it: SMOKE switch must be set to ON (this is the master power switch for the smoke system)WHITE switch must be set to ON (this is the power switch for the white tank)COLOR switch must be set to ON (this is the power switch for the color tank)...then, to activate the smoke, you will need to use the following toggle switches (you may want to assign them to stick buttons): WING LIGHT TOGGLE -> WHITE SMOKE RECOGNTION LIGHT TOGGLE -> COLOR SMOKE When the system is working, the relevant advisory lights willilluminate. The default PAN model has white smoke on both tanks. Redand green smoke variants are available as "repaints". NOTE: due to a simulator bug, effects may not show if activated in the internal views in certain conditions. 13. /images/notams/notams21/dino0809.jpgThe next update of the MB-339 is on short final, but we still needa couple of days for testing. We apologize for the delay, but the recent updates of MSFS and thefact that we had to reorganize the internal code (to support joypadinteraction for the XBox release) was way more labor intensive (andfrankly annoying) than what we had originally envisioned. Fixed glitch causing heat blur effect to disappear in certain conditionsInternal reorganization of 3D models (nodes and hierarchy)Added high altitude contrail effectAdded Sim Update V landing special effects Redone ADI and backup ADI animationRepackaged to Sim Update V standardsImproved fuel flow indications, consumption and rangeMinor improvements to flight modelImplemented Sim Update V cockpit interface (necessary for XBox)Restored Mouse Drag functionality on many controlsFixed several minor glitches in virtual cockpit modelFixed several minor glitches in external modelsCopilot figure is now optional: will disappear if copilot weight is set to 70lbs or lessAdded backup ADI setting and mouse areaAdded Marker Sensitivity SwitchAdded several animations in the cockpit (cosmetic only, may receive proper implementation in future)Added smoke systemWe also plan to have white/colored smoke option, as well asfunctional external tanks for the A models. 16. /images/notams/notams21/dino0415/mb339-1.jpgAs promised recently, here is an update on the DCS MB.339. Our DCS development team is working hard on three differentbranches of MB-339 code and this week we have completed therealization of new loadouts for our aircraft. We are currently unable to provide a forecast of when these newweapons will be implemented within DCS World but we are confident thatthey will be available on Day 1 of the MB-339 release. Speaking of dates, we are currently unable to provide a releasewindow for the aircraft: as per usual our policy is "it is done whenit is done" - we'll keep you posted! Source
  17. /images/notams/notams21/dino0413.jpgIn preparation of World Update IV, we had to update all of our MSFSaircraft to include new localization files provided by Microsoft. Wetook the chance to fix a couple of minor mistakes in the MB-339, so anew update has just been released to our distributors. Version 1.22Updated localization file for World Update IVFixed minor glitch in cockpit view canopy relfectionFixed minor glitch causing gunsight to appear on PAN external modelA The Long-EZ and the T-45C will have the additional localizationfiles needed for the Marketplace, but no other changes. Speaking of the Marketplace, we understand that the MB-339 updatewas not yet released by Microsoft - our apologies, but that is beyondor control. We will try and push for a quick release, but ultimatelyit is up to Microsoft. Also, we have received no news of an official solution to the T-45update freezing during download or decompression, although deletingthe T-45 folder from the Official\OneStore folder and redownloadingthe package seems to work for most users. 18. /images/notams/notams20/ift1130.jpgWe know that the latest update of the MB-339 has created someproblems to third party liveries - we had arranged the files so thatthis should not happen theoretically but it did. We hope it has onlybeen a minor inconvenience, and the update was worth it. As a small sign of gratitude for your patience and your support, wehave decided to release yet another update which introduces the MLUvariant for the MB-339 - that will appear as a separate aircraft. The MLU variant is unique to the Italian Air Force and is onlyavailable in the ghost grey livery. It is also depicted with the 500liters cylindical tanks, as opposed to the older ellipical ones, although it can mount both in reality. You can easily tell MLU fromnon-MLU aircrafts as the MLU have the formation lights, and thenon-MLU do not. Note that the cockpit layout, for all versions, was already the MLUvariant and the PAN version is, more correctly, a PAN-MLU. Speaking of the PAN version, we have changed the suit and thehelmet of the rear seat occupant to olive drab + HGU-55 as this is amore common sight... blue suits with special HGU-33 are typicallyreserved for the Frecce Tricolori pilots while backseaters have"regular" flight gear... /images/notams/notams21/dino0329.jpgChangelog Version 1.21bAdded A-MLU Model (as separate aircraft)Improved internal engine sounds (jet whine volume increased)Rear pilot figure of MB-339 pan has now HGU-55 helmet and olive drab suit (as most commonly seen IRL)Purchase IndiaFoxtEcho - MB-339 For MSFS 2020
  19. /images/notams/notams20/ift1130.jpgWe have just sent an updated MB-339 to all of the vendors: the newpackage is available now, except from Microsoft (it will probably takea week or so for them). This is a quite extensive update which coversa many aspects of the aircraft, including sounds and visuals. One of the most recurrent complaints on our rendition of the MB-339was that sounds were not "powerful" enough... we have replaced all thesound effects with better samples and, while they are far from beingperfect, they should be better now - at least in the externalviews. As for the internal sounds, frankly, the new samples sound verysimilar to the old ones (which is understandable given they were stillsamples from the same engine). In the visual department, we transferred to MSFS some of theimprovements we are making for the DCS version. In detail, allexternal textures have been remastered with additional details. Then, we have a lot of functional changes to the aircraftsystems...which should cover pretty much every comment we havereceived, except the canopy de-icing (which you still have to do viakeyboard) as it is not documented in the SDK. Here is the full change log: Quality of Life improvements: Remastered all external textures with higher detailChanged HSI DME last digit animation (now continuous)Fixed landing gear extraction and damaging speedsFixed bug that caused deletion of panel cover if gunsight is removed from A modelDecreased FD vertical bar sensitivityChanged rule of GS engagement from GS ARMImproved engine dynamicsRedone Wwise engine sounds, based on real world samplesFixed minor bug in Tacan/Frequency conversionFixed minor bug in RDU display not showing the correct frequencies for COM1 in some caseAdded indication of X/Y Tacan channelImproved cockpit self shadowingRear view mirror are now foldableAdded gear warning sound and silencerAdded streamers and covers if the aircraft is parkedAdded underwing pylons to A model (add any weight to the relevant load station)Added external fuel tanks to A model (add at least 51lbs to releval station - cosmetic only)Fixed VR cockpit collisionsFixed external light bug introduced by Sim Update 3Fixed external views HUDAdded g-stain soundFixed minor inaccuracies in warning test switch behaviorFixed minor bug preventing fine adjustment of OBS in some casesGPS number keys can now be used to select waypoints (1 to 10)Purchase IndiaFoxtEcho - MB-339 For MSFS 2020

  21. /images/notams/notams21/dino0302.jpgBUON SESSANTESIMO COMPLEANNO FRECCE TRICOLORI! March 1st is the 60th anniversary of the foundation of our belovednational aerobatic team. To celebrate this event we wanted to releasea further update to the MB-339... but unfortunately it is not readyyet. We hope to release it in the next few days, but chance is itwill take a little longer as it may clash with the T-45C release. The update will include, but will not be limited to, the followingbug fixes and improvements: Remastered all external textures with higher detailChanged HSI DME last digit animation (now continuous)Fixed landing gear extraction and damaging speedsA Fixed bug that caused deletion of panel cover if gunsight is removed from A modelDecreased FD vertical bar sensitivityChanged rule of GS engagement from GS ARMImproved engine dynamicsRedone Wwise engine sounds, based on real world samplesFixed minor bug in Tacan/Frequency conversionFixed minor bug in RDU display not showing the correct frequencies for COM1 in some caseAdded indication of X/Y Tacan channelImproved cockpit self shadowingRear view mirror are now foldable...and no, the icing problem is not solved yet, as there is noclear indication on how to solve it in the SDK. Sorry for that! Source Indiafoxtecho - Where Is The Goshawk?
  22. /images/notams/notams21/dino0219/mb-339-1.jpgHere is a (much requested) quick update on the DCS MB-339: afterachieving full damage, hydraulic and electrical simulation, our codingteam is working hard to complete the rest of the package - sincepretty much needs to be written from scratch in DCS, it is not an easytask... and we'll show you the new functionalities once they areready. /images/notams/notams21/dino0219/mb-339-2.jpg /images/notams/notams21/dino0219/mb-339-3.jpgIn the meantime, our art team has improved a number of smalldetails while the external model textures have been remastered forbetter detail and visual fidelity. Speaking of the MB-339 we'll have an update to the MSFS version outin a few days (hopefully) to fix a number of (very) small bugs and adda couple of features. Do not expect big changes, but we are doing ourbest to make improve the product. Source IndiaFoxtEcho News On MB-339 For DCS IndiaFoxtEcho Reports Beta 1 Build of T-45C Complete
  23. /images/notams/notams21/dino0106/mb339-1.jpgOur DCS Team is working REALLY hard to fill any gap in the MB-339simulation and add any feature that was missing in the freewaremod. For one, we now have a fully animated (meaning it can be foldedand unfolded) canopy hood for IFR training in place. We believe that DCS MB-339 will be an extremely complete andrealistic rendition of the aircraft. /images/notams/notams21/dino0106/mb339-2.jpg /images/notams/notams21/dino0106/mb339-3.jpgSource IndiaFoxtEcho Long-EZ For MSFS v1.13 Released IndiaFoxtEcho Report on T-45C For MSFS
  24. MB-339 For MSFSPublisher: IndiaFoxtEchoReview Author: Dale AshcroftSuggested Price: $23.43/images/fsc/wbicons/store-buy-now-button.png /images/reviews/mb339a/t/indiafoxtecho-mb339-06.jpgAircraft DescriptionThe following is a direct quote from Wikipedia: The Aermacchi MB-339 is a military jet trainer and light attackaircraft designed and manufactured by Italian aviation companyAermacchi. The MB-339 was developed during the 1970s in response to an ItalianAir Force requirement that sought a replacement for the service'sexisting fleet of Aermacchi MB-326. Its design was derived from thatof the MB-326, rather than a new design, and thus the two aircraftshare considerable similarities in terms of their design. Aermacchihad found that the MB-339 was capable of satisfying all of thespecified requirements while being the most affordable optionavailable. The maiden flight of the MB-339 took place on 12 August1976; the first production aircraft were delivered two yearslater. Roughly half of all MB-339s entered service with the Italian AirForce, while the remainder have been sold to various exportcustomers. As well as being used for training, the type is also flownby the Frecce Tricolori aerobatic display team. The type has been usedin combat by both the Eritrean Air Force during the Eritrean-EthiopianWar of 1998-2000 and the Argentine Naval Aviation during the FalklandsWar of 1982. In both conflicts, the MB-339 was typically flown as anattack aircraft.
