  1. Ok, i updated my nvidia drivers to 460.89. I have just flown a flight that produced a CTD yesterday, this time with no issues. I also noticed that my control assignments had re-appeared in MSFS (i use FSUIPC7 and had previously deleted them in MSFS to ensure no conflicts). So I found the switches which were causing issues and did not operate them during the flight. In summary I may have cured my CTDs but at this stage I cant confirm whether the updated driver did the trick or if it was a controller conflict issue.I personally suspect the later. Either way, so far so good. I hope this may help others. Cheers Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  2. Now to test if it has cured my MSFS CTDs ! Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  3. Ok, I got fed up waiting so I manually turned off the PC by holding down the power button. Rebooted, now the new driver is shown as installed. All looks ok, so hopefully that's it done. We'll see! Thanks for looking Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  4. Hi all, I am trying to get the latest drivers for my Rtx2080ti. I am doing it via Geforce Experience. I downloaded the driver then went for express install. All seemed to be going ok but at around 25 percent through the installation phase my screens went black. I assumed it was doing a reboot but i have been waiting 10 mins now with no change. The PC is still on but there is no apparent hard drive activity. Is this normal? How long do I wait? The driver version it is attempting to install is 460.89. 5. Happy and safe New Year everyone. I shall have a day trying to sort out my CTDs [emoji849] Thank the lord we have this fantastic sim to while away the hours when we are stuck indoors. [emoji4] all the best Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  6. I don't see that lowering settings should be the answer as I have been running with the same settings since release and most people are seeing improved performance with the updates . My experience up until recently was super smooth but the lower framerates I am experiencing now points to a degradation in performance for some reason. I will report back once if I get to the bottom of it. Good luck with your own investigations . Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  7. Good call, i'll do that [emoji106] Cheers Steve. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  8. I have not been flying lately as i have been busy designing scenery. However, my first two flights today resulted in a CTD. Frames seem lower too. Any clues? Empty community folder, no mods. i7 10700, rtx 2080ti M2 drive. Msfs fully updated. Setting mostly on ultra as they have been from the start. I have not suffered ctds up until now. I was flying the Longitude. Another flight later with the C172 G1000 went smoothly. Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  9. You're welcome Nels. I appreciate your support. [emoji106] Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  10. Hi all, Today I have released Southwold pier, Suffolk, UK. This is the 7th pier in my handcrafted scenery series. It is free to download here at Flightsim.com in the file library. Enjoy Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  11. You could have bought FSUIPC7 and done your assignments in there. That way it doesn't get affected by the updates. At least you get a new toy in the Honeycomb to play with, users seem to like them very much. Good luck Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  12. Cheers Tim, theres a few piers to go yet so plenty to be getting on with . I am hoping the UK update which is coming in january might sort a few bridges out but we'll have to wait and see. I haven't tried those mods out yet but thanks for the heads up. Gonna get back to a bit more flying before I do the next pier. Enjoy Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  13. My next offering in my series of UK piers is now available in the File Library here at Flightsim.com. The Grand Pier at Weston super-mare. Enjoy Stinger Sent from my SM-T813 using Tapatalk

  15. When setting up your flight zoom into the arrival airport and you will see them all laid out. Just click on a dot then set as departure. Hope this helps Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  16. If you have any addons in your Community folder it may be worth temporarily removing them and storing them outside the sim. It is possible that one or more of the addons didn't like the update. It's always best to empty the community folder prior to any update. Good luck Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  17. Thanks Ian. As you are the first to comment I shall do Weston supermare next!. Now that I have done a couple I am finding it easier than the fsx method so it's worth a go. Ryde was a bit harder because it is effectively 3 piers in one, but fun to do. All the best Keith Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  18. Hi all, For any simmers interested in adding missing UK piers I have now released my 5th pier. Ryde pier on the Isle of Wight. Available right here at flightsim.com . Enjoy Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  19. All sorted. Must have been a busy server I guess as half a dozen tries later it went through. Thanks for looking Stinger Sent from my SM-T813 using Tapatalk
  20. I downloaded the latest update this morning then went to the market place to see whats else is available. I ticked a few and started downloading but not all of them were succesful. I seem unable to complete the download of the USA Points of Interest package amongst others. It goes through the process but at the end I see a "packed failed" notice on the right hand side of the item. I have tried several times with the same result. I have 70mb download speed. Anyone else had this problem? Cheers Stinger Sent from my SM-T813 using Tapatalk
  21. Carenado are currently working on a fix for the visor issue in their MSFS Seminole. This was caused by the recent update along with a couple of other problems.I just spotted it on their Facebook page. Sent from my SM-T813 using Tapatalk
  22. I think we will see more access to simconnect features in the future. It's just not a priority at the moment with people having problems with CTD's etc. I could do with the range knob too for my home cockpit, it is one of the few things currently missing for me over what I had in FSX. 23. Yes indeed. I find most people on this forum very amenable and helpful too. Where would we all be without community help. There are some very knowledgeable people here with lots of experience. I have gained a bit of both over the years and enjoy sharing what I know to help others. regards Stinger Sent from my SM-T813 using Tapatalk
  24. I wonder how complete the update will be for the UK. I have been designing UK piers (Ryde pier will be the next release) and I am now wondering if I am wasting my time. Asobo's version of Brighton pier is very good so if they are going to do more of them I think that I will hold off. Stinger Sent from my SM-T813 using Tapatalk
  25. A great starting point is the videos by "Flying Theston" on youtube. I have learned a lot from him on getting the models into the sim . There is a free 3d modelling program called Blender which is well supported in the forums too. Feel free to DM me for further advice, although I am no expert. Good luck Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
