  1. Tiger1962 Thanks for that info. Having never had an Xbox I wasn't sure if it could handle multiple USB inputs. Sounds like it may be a reasonable alternative but I will probably wait for the Xbox version reviews before making the jump. cheers Stinger
  2. As a crinkly simmer (I am 63 yrs old) i actually quite like the idea of buying a much cheaper xbox to run the new sim on but only if it can do the same as the pc version. The problem i have is my home cockpit uses 10 usb ports for all of the controllers. Would this even be possible on an xbox? I suspect there are a fairly high proportion of simmers using more than a joystick to control the sim. If there is a need to use the standard xbox controller then for me that throws realism straight out of the window. Also I wonder how many of the addon developers will be venturing into the xbox market. If this sim is to last the next decade we will all be looking to enhance it over the coming years Cheers Stinger Sent from my SM-T813 using Tapatalk
  3. Yes, the extra screens make a big difference. I have four 2x 24inch for the main view and 2x10inch touchscreens for my G1000 instruments. Next stop a full cockpit setup! Cheers Stinger Sent from my SM-T813 using Tapatalk
  4. Fortunately we only have 2 users of bandwidth in my household and I will be telling the other one that she can't use it when I'm simming. [emoji16] If she doesn't comply I'll have to give her a damn good listening to. Lol Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  5. This is why i asked "is it just me". So nobody else sees the same stutters then? Btw my download speed is 37mb ps. Cheers Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  6. Hi all, Is it just me that thinks the last video released after the developers event looks as though it is stuttering? In particular look out of the left window of the C172. Although the comments from the attendees said it was appearing to be running at 30fps+ it doesn't appear smooth. It worries me because if they are hitting lowish fps at this stage what is going to happen when they add in AI and ATC? It of course looks stunning but the last 11 years have been spent worrying about FSX fps , i don't want another decade of tweaking instead of flying. Of course I am aware that this is a pre-alpha build and many months of work is yet to be done, but all of that eye candy may yet come at a price. Just my thoughts. 7. My FIL has been simming since FS for Windows 95 so he has tried most aircraft, However he is not very adept at delving deeper when things aren't right. Unfortunately he lives 60 miles away so i am only able to help when i visit. When i installed the aircraft the installer gives a choice of languages. I chose English but for some reason the manual is in German. I might have to try a re-install when i next visit. That way we can check the correct rudder settings etc, assuming it is in the manual of course. Regards Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  8. Hi, If it has only just started happening it's worth thinking about anything that might have changed. If you can't think of anything that you might have changed, or changed due to an update of any software, i would backup my fsx.cfg by renaming it then restart the sim to allow fsx to create a new fsx.cfg file. If this doesn't do the trick you may as well re-instate your old cfg file. If it does you may then need to alter your settings in fsx back to how you like them ( or edit fsx.cfg in notepad to get the desired settings). Good luck, i know from experience how frustrating OOM's can be. Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  9. Maby thanks for the suggestion , I'll get him to look for a prop sync switch. Cheers Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  10. Yes, as you say, i suspect that this is the true behaviour of the aircraft and as such Nels wouldn't have raised it as a problem. In the past where i have experienced this , often in wwII warbirds, it can be negated by turning off the prop torque in the realism settings. However in this case it seems to have no effect. As a temporary measure i have set up a couple of aileron trim switches on his joystick but he didn't seem too happy about having to constantly adjust that (he is 93 after all [emoji4]). That's why I was looking for a more permanent solution. Thanks for the comments Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  11. Hi all, My 93 yr old father in law asked me to buy him the Flight1 Mustang for FSX. After installation he is not happy because the aircraft gradually turns to the right if flown hands-off-the-stick. I assumed that this is due to prop torque so i went into the realism settings and turned it off. Trouble is that it still gradually turns right. I checked his stick calibration which is fine and he doesn't have this problem with other aircraft. My question...Is there a ssetting in the aircraft.cfg that I can alter to cure this problem? All thoughts gratefully recieved Stinger Sent from my SM-T813 using Tapatalk
  12. Are your instrument windows "undocked"?. I run a similar system with the G1000 pfd and mfd on separate monitors and don't have the problem you have. My pfd and mfd windows are undocked. Cheers Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  13. Reflecting on how much ive spent on FSX, it certainly wouldn't be the price that puts me off buying FS2020. Hell, i will even upgrade my PC if I think it is worth it. (My PC is 6 yrs old so probably could do with it anyhow). This is my main hobby at the end of the day and what price happiness? For me it basically comes down to it needing to be a significant upgrade on FSX . Also if there is any hint of FPS issues i'm out That said i am feeling very positive about the announcement and cannot wait for it's release. Cheers Stinger. Sent from my SM-T813 using Tapatalk
  14. Hi, i doubt you have done any damage. I suppose that the easy way to find out is to plug it in. No need to wire up switches to try it, just use a piece of wire to short out each channel on the bodnar board, one at a time. Cheers Stinger Sent from my SM-T813 using Tapatalk
  15. The trailer looks impressive. It will be interesting to see if its for the simmers or the gamers. The former i hope. As a home cockpit user my hopes are pinned on having good access to the control assignments. For me its FSX until then but i will keep an eye on the news. Cheers Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  16. Thanks Khalid. I am more interested in getting a really good rendition of Nice airport than the region. Regards Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  17. Hi all, I am looking for recommendations for a good payware addon for FSX of Nice/Cote d'Azure(LFMN). Does anybody have experience of one of the two on offer?. Justsim or Aerosoft. Cheers Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  18. Hi, I have a multi screen setup and Windows 10. I have a problem with the windows takbar not staying in the position at the bottom of one of my screens. Even when i lock it there the next time i startup my pc the taskbar is at the top of the same screen but still shows as locked. I have seen other forum post (not here) with people who are having the same problem but I can't find a solution. Any ideas? Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  19. Hi, I don't have this particular aircraft but the one i use has 3 lvars for the engine switches. One to actually start the engine ,one for the VC visuals of the switch And one for the sound of the switch. I checked the LINDA module downloads but unfortunately nobody has made a module for this aircraft which suggests no-one has been before you. This makes it hard work when you get stuck with a trace as i know to my cost! Regards Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  20. I built this yoke myself as nobody makes them, or at least the yoke handle. Behind it sits a Saitek yoke module. What do you think? Cheers Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  21. That is designed to fit into the Saitek yoke which then attaches to the pc via usb. I think you need the usb version of the quadrant to use without the yoke. Someone may correct me however. Sorry. Cheers Stinger Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  22. 100% FSX for me since it was released. Although I never liked the default land textures. Thankfully that has been sorted by ORBX. I still have to keep my hand in with FS9 though because my 92 yr old father-in-law uses it and each time I visit he has a list of issues to sort out ! Cheers Stinger Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk
  23. Not as far as I can tell. I have now decided to use my 2 ipads effectively as two extra wireless monitors using an app which allows this. I then open up the 2d g1000 view in fsx and drag onto the ipad. I will be building my own Nav/Com side panels but leaving the G1000 soft buttons on the ipad as this seems to work fine with the ipads touchscreen ability. Time will tell as far as frame rates go though. I have tried it with the pfd so far and it works smoothly. Cheers Stinger Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk
  24. Futlrther update.....I have been in contact with Li Chen, the app designer. Unfortunately, although he says that there is likely to be further aircraft added at some point in the future, jets are not likely to be amongst them. That pretty much scuppers my plans of using the app with my home cockpit setup. Oh well, back to the drawing board. Cheers Stinger Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk
  25. I'll reply myself just to give anyone interested an update..... I bought a second hand ipad air (version 1) and downloaded the Simionic PFD app. There is a separate app for the MFD but to use this you must first have the PFD app on your primary ipad as the MFD does not talk directly to FSX, just the PFD via bluetooth. I connected to FSX fairly seamlessly. It works over the wifi network so as long as your PC and the ipad are using the same network it connects itself after a couple of clicks. As to the app itself, it seems to work well as long as you are flying one of the default Cessnas . There are 4 Cessna versions modelled in the app. There is (on my system) no discernible lag and you can operate the G1000 softbuttons via the app. The problem I have is that I want to use it for my home cockpit that I am building based on the Carenado Phenom 300, but because the app is designed for light aircraft it shows that I am overspeeding once I get past approx 180 knots. Hopefully there will be future updates giving the option of flying jets at least. I guess it would be too much to ask that Simionic include every add-on aircraft out there as each is different. There are things that happen on the Phenom G1000 that don't happen on any default glass cockpit aircraft for instance. I would still like to hear from others that have tried this app and maybe overcome some of its limitations. Cheers Stinger.
