  1. Fabulous pics! Love the "new" sim but haven't partaken of it yet. Maybe some day :) Can't tell you how many times I've been to BOS in the C208 but it's been too many to count. Won't be going back there in the foreseeable future since our system form decided to remove the C208 from the schedule out of EWR. Always was an interesting operation in and out of BOS. Fun times!
  2. Ah, brings back old memories, Bill! I got to fly a T41 on many occasions at the NAS Millington (2M8) flying club back in the early 90s. My step father was the chief flight instructor for a long while. The T41 was the only 172 I got to fly with a 200hp engine. This one was primarily used in Colorado before they transferred it to 2M8. What a joy it was to fly. The rest of the flying we did together was in one of the 3 T-34 Mentors. Looking back on those days, the flying club had an over abundance of single and twin engine aircraft to fly. We certainly never got bored!
  3. PaulCraig is correct. Caravans do not have spoilers to slow the aircraft down on landing like you see on some Mooneys and much faster turbo props. Therefore, there won't be a "selector" in the cockpit to activate them. The spoilerons function primarily to improve lateral control of the aircraft at slower speeds. The C208Bs I have flown over the years has that huge prop on the front that can literally slow the aircraft down in a hurry when the power lever is reduced significantly. It acts as a speed brake, if you will. The C208 EX, on the other hand, doesn't slow down as quickly. The first time I flew one, the instructor told me to pull the power back to idle while on short final. That was weird to me, but that's the difference between the aircraft.
  4. Adam went to the Peerhoven School of Airplane Diving :)
  5. Outstanding series of pics! The details are remarkable
  6. Thanks for sharing the video, Bill. I am seriously liking the sim and all it can do. Even though I don't plan to get it until I have built a new system to handle it decently, I am lurking around the forum to see what improvements have been made over time.

  8. Good to see a fellow Memphian on here. Welcome! I don't have any idea about any decently priced flight stick/throttle combos. I'm sure you'll get a number of suggestions though. I had the Saitek X52 some years ago but gave it away to a fellow simmer. Hope you find one that fits your budget :)
  9. Unfortunately Carenado doesn't do most of their aircraft correctly...in so many ways. Differential braking is not needed in MOST smaller aircraft like Cirrus. Perhaps Carenado made this a must but in real life this isn't a must...which is what I was referring to. Certainly some heavier singles need a bit of airflow over the rudder before taxi to get rudder effectiveness on the roll, but once that has been established, differential braking shouldn't be the be all and the end all to controlling the aircraft on the ground.
  10. Here's what happened with my last 787 flight. Sir Peerhoven was the Captain and despite the gear malfunction, he belly landed smoothly.
  11. The old smokey never gets tiring to see :) Thanks for going old school on the flying Aharon!
  12. Nice pics Michael! I have spent a considerable amount of time in the C208 over Mass. and Ct. I recall seeing a mansion in Ct. that was once owned by the former heavyweight champ Mike Tyson. Over flew the mansion after departing Bradley for Bridgeport. Man, that mansion is HUGE.
  13. Absolutely stunning pics Darryl! Once I get my new pc build that can handle the hard core 4k, I'll be happy :)
  14. The only Cub I flew was the clipped wing version named "Yoda". Good little aerobatic airplane for the spin, loop and roll. In the loop I had to be careful and not push the nose up while inverted...fuel would spill over the wind screen :) But, that sucker sure could spin in a hurry!
  15. Awesome pics of the Cirrus. You shouldn't need differential braking with that aircraft...not unless Carenado fouled that up, too :P
  16. Thanks Michael and Larry :) Greatly appreciate it!
  17. Hi folks, long time no post but here are some oldies:
  18. I was thinking perhaps it was the int'l flight school at Bolivar many years ago. I was flying out of M04 for years and always had to watch out for the kamikazes from Bolivar.
  19. I'm glad that I downloaded this fine aircraft. It sure beats the heck out of Carenado's 182. Yes, I have flown the real deal for 120 hours :)
