  1. I am not surprised that people are starting to get a little POed and its not just FS. The trend in general has been to release incomplete and bugged software. Hype various new hardware and then not have it in stock etc. and then when people are unhappy use the magic word covid. The covid excuse itself is getting a little old. How can it be that every aspect of corporate America can be brought to a stand still except of course the billing departments. All billing departments still functioning at 100 percent capacity?????
  2. Lets pretend fs 2020 never came along. What would you have paid for the type of VFR GA experience this sim provides but as and add on to xplane fsx p3d. I can say for myself that it would have gladly paid more than 100 bucks hands down. Just a way to look at it when I am getting a little frustrated with the various bugs. Kind of reminds me of my RC flying at the club field. Believe it or not personalities would clash and tempers would flair a bit. I would always take myself aside and remind myself. Were just a bunch of middle aged men playing with toy airplanes :D
  3. I guess I am starting to get old/old fashion. IMO what nvidia should have done was delay launch until stock was more available and been honest with there customers as to the reasons why. This would have prevented a lot bad blood from developing. Even the tech channels on youtube that usually bend over back wards to work with companies like Nvidia are having a hard time justifying what went on with the launch or like I said paper launch. Large retailers like micro center and best buy getting a grand total of a dozen or so to sell to people on launch day. How do you not know thats going to PO everyone??????
  4. If anyone is interested air manager 4.0 beta is free to try but very limited. The c172 panel steam gauges can be used. I went out and got the smallest 1080p tv I could find and use it for air manger gauges networked on a separate lap top. I then rely on it and set my glass panel refresh in game to low. Air manger panel seems pretty smooth at 30fps. Then at 1440 with a mixture of high and ultra I can average 60 fps in my home flying area which I would call a medium demand area with photogrammetry. Higher demand will bring it down of course. MY specs; i9 10900k 32mb ram 2080 super Also thanks to this guy I have been able to save outside of the plane views that I can assign to a button on yoke. I know this is only helpful for us low and slow VFR guys but should be help for everyone once Air manager go's to full release. Short vid here of changing to outside view with yoke button.
  5. My problem is I can remember a day when launching a product meant that there were pallets of them sitting at retailers waiting to be sold to live human beings the day of launch and if this got screwed up there were consequences.
  6. I have pretty much given up on getting a new GPU at this point. I thinks its more than fair to call out Nvidia on this. It was a paper launch. The next time you are frustrated with the bugs in this sim redirect your ire at Nvidia. They deserve it. Compared to Nvidia ASOBOs launch of this sim was flawless.
  7. I am shocked these days by what seems to be out of control marketing departments promising things they must know can not be delivered but moving forward anyways. The Nvidia launch and FS2020 are good examples. At least the sim is available to anyone one who wants it but don't eve get me started on Nvidia. I have lost a lot of trust and respect for them in the past few months to the point that I may just settle for the performance I have now and not even bother with a 30 series upgrade. I kind of feel like they don't deserve my money at this point
  8. I am usually underwhelmed by most mods but this one has really changed the sim for me https://flightsim.to/file/5318/vegetation-draw-distance-fix I think the reduction in tree distance draw by ASOBO was the main thing that gave me the impression that the sim just doesn't look like the first day I fired it up. In fact I remembering commenting about all the trees when I installed it day of release and they kind of went away with the patches. This has fixed it at the cost of a few fps. Vegetation as far as the eye can see and no popping in. Smaller towns in the distance are no longer areas of mostly white until you get close to them and then the trees pop in. Great mod for me and of course your mileage may vary
  9. Been wanting my elevator trim on an axis but to date has always been to sensitive/gittery for fine adjustments. These two new settings seem to be helping. May be worth a revisit if you have been trying to do the same and went back to button pushes. Still playing around with it but it seems to be quite usable now on an axis. Should go for anything else you would like on an axis. Hopefully the new bravo throttle quad trim wheel will be able to work like this.
  10. The question one must really ask is not what is wrong but what is right??? lol Low and slow VFR. Which I kind of find amusing because it was the people left out of every previous sim. It appears for now that the red headed step child of flight sims is getting the best of it for a change.
  11. I have found that after updates individual planes and airports need to be downloaded anyways. ASOBO has kind of done this for you. Not sure if it saves disk space though. My hanger right now is C172, Icon and Cub with no hand crafted airports I never fly in and out of anyways. I even think I would need to DL the flight instruction if I wanted to use it.
  12. This is true; I now have a high end machine but if I stick to my main flying area on the west coast of FL I can run 4k ultra between 30 and 35 FPS with the glass on the C172 slid over to a second monitor. Of course flying over NYC would be a different story. Its not accurate anyways. None of the businesses are boarded up like NYC covid 2020. Maybe that's a different sim;) On the other hand the photogrammetry dos make the buildings look a little sick and droopy at times.
  13. Has anyone purchased after using it in conjunction with game pass and experienced any problems loading the sim after canceling there game pass subscription. Just checking you never know with this sim. TIA
  14. The new PC arrived last week and I am now running 4K ultra and the sim looks fine. Previously I had made claims/complaints that asobo was dumbing down the graphics with the patches and the sim looked much worse than the day it was released. Its more likely that asobo was actually cranking up the graphics and it was slowly starting to out class my previous hardware giving me the wrong impression. When your wrong your wrong. I have sent asobo a written and notarized apology and have properly flogged myself. Let me know if there is any thing else I should do.
  15. Thanks Tim; I remember seeing that list and must have missed the obvious
  16. For those that fly the west coast of FL the new update has included the skyway bridge connecting Bradenton/Palmetto to ST. Pete/Tampa. I don't recall seeing this mentioned in the release notes. I would think it would be something they would want to brag about as it looks really good. So if your like me and fly VFR GA in mostly the same areas; Cedar Key to Key west in my case; go for a joy ride you might find some pleasant surprises not mentioned in the update.
  17. I grew up watching tv and if it were not for spell check none of my post would be readable.......so exactly!!!! By the way my lunch was better than your lunch and I want the world to know it.
  18. Mom always use to say; "television was the biggest opportunity for education this country has ever seen and we flushed it down the toilet". Most people now walk around every day holding in there hand a computer ten thousand times more powerful than the one that was used to send a man to the moon and what do they do with it. They take picture's of there lunch and post it to there face book. Sad
  19. What strikes me as odd is there seems to be no middle ground. One camp says its trash and the other camp says its fine and all the fault of the end user. This is a statistical impossibility
  20. Downloaded in about 20 minutes and was up and flying. Would you like to barrow my i5 8300 and 1050ti:)
  21. Maybe that's been the problem all along. This sim has decided it is to ethical to work for Bill Gates and is now trying to destroy itself
  22. I dont believe every ones CTD problems are related to low end hardware. Here is what I am running it on now. 2.30 gigahertz Intel Core i5-8300H 1050 TI 16 gigs RAM SSD Have never had a CTD and the only unrecovered lock ups came when pluging/unplugging peripherals when sim was first released. If I am in the mood for a slide show SIM will run at 1440 ultra. Like I said I have a new rig on the way and certainly it was time to do so. Would be ironic if the CTDs started then.
  23. It could be worse; you could have one of those youtube tech channels. These poor guys have been reviewing products no one can buy and stuff that doesn't work for three months now:)
  24. Just sat down this Monday morning and it occurred to me that I never took a flight in MFSF this weekend(or any other sim to be fair). I dont consider myself to be one of the bashers of this sim but are all the bugs and complaints starting to seep in and sucking my enthusiasm for the sim/game? I hope not since I just dumped a bunch of money into new hardware for it if they are ever able to get it to me and that's an issue to itself. At any rate I dont consider it a good sign.
