  1. Good video Steve, thanks for sharing. I’ll have to try that one myself :) Regards Steve
  2. This might not be it.. but go into settings.. Click the data tab and make sure photogrammetry is enabled. Certainly worth checking. Regards Steve
  3. LOL :) It’s probably still a good idea to post your pc specs. Your son will know them I’m sure. Regards Steve
  4. Hi, I’m not quite sure what you mean by white bands. Are you in windowed mode rather than full screen? Try pressing Alt+Enter. That puts it back to full screen if that is the issue Regards Steve
  5. I don’t know if this is the case with the DVD version, but will it let you download it (for free) from the MS Store? I presume you logged into the same account on your second pc? You might want to take a look here.. https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360017701559-Microsoft-Store-This-code-has-already-been-redeemed-error-message Regards Steve
  6. Hi, if the marketplace is greyed out you could try this.. ON PC Open the Microsoft Store app on your computer. In the bottom left corner of the Microsoft Store, click on the library icon In the top left corner, click "Get Updates" then "Update all" and wait for the updates to install. Once the updates are installed, click on your profile icon in the top right corner of the screen. Under your email address, click on "Sign out". Reboot the computer Open the Microsoft Store app. Click on the icon in the top right corner, then click on Sign in. Sign in with the Microsoft account you used to play Microsoft Flight Simulator. * If the email address under your gamertag is different from the email address used to log in to the Microsoft Store app/purchase Microsoft Flight Simulator, click on "sign in with a different account" or "Switch accounts." Regards Steve
  7. I’ve no experience with the Daher throttle I’m afraid. Hopefully someone else will be able to help with that. As for the headset.. I own the Reverb G2..the Oculus Quest 1 and the Oculus Quest 2 (plus I used to have the Oculus Rift CV1) I wear glasses all the time and have never had any issues. But.. it all depends on the size of your frames I suppose. I purposely try to not go for great big ones. In fact, in the days of my Rift, I bought an additional pair of glasses. They had the cheapest, smallest plastic frames available… bought especially for when I’m using the headset. I haven’t bothered to do this since though.. just used my normal glasses. Another option is to get prescription insert lenses that actually fit inside your headset. I’ve never tried these myself but many others here have. It’s a pity Currys wouldn’t let you try one. Although the Reverb G2 is probably a better headset for MSFS, the Quest 2 is a good all rounder. You can connect it to your pc for flight sim, or use it on its own ( wirelessly) for other things. Some even use it wirelessly with MSFS, although I’ve never really managed that myself. One other thing.. to fly with VR uses a bit more computing power as you might expect. It might be a good idea to add your pc specs to your signature, or post them here if not Regards Steve
  8. Glad you managed to download it ok. I’m guessing you haven’t downloaded / installed the extra stuff yet? From the main welcome page… click on Marketplace (bottom right of screen) then click on World. Choose the “free only” filter, and various world updates should appear, if they’re not showing already. You can down download improved scenery! :) Also you may find some updates in the content manager. From the welcome screen.. click the Profile tab (top of screen) and then Content Manager. It may show if there are any scenery updates etc Regards Steve
  9. Hi Walter, can you post your system specs please? It might shed a bit more light on thr problem Regards Steve
  10. Hi, my first choice would be the Reverb G2, but you’re talking nearly £600 My second choice would be the Oculus Quest 2. Many on this forum use that for MSFS & love it… but it’s £399 I don’t think you’ll get a decent headset for less than that unless you get a used or refurbished one. Regards Steve
  11. I also agree with everyone here. MSFS 2020 is fantastic. The best sim we’ve ever had. Your specs look fine & I would recommend buying it direct from the Microsoft Store.. https://www.flightsimulator.com/store/ Regards Steve
  12. This might help.. https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4414599136146--Your-bandwidth-is-too-low-for-data-streaming-you-have-been-switched-to-offline-mode- Regards Steve
  13. Absolutely:) I’ve actually been away from the hobby (& this forum) for a few weeks due to a new hobby (I’ve bought a drone) but I’m back on again now (for now LOL) Regards Steve
  14. Hi, I would think so :) More would be better (especially if you have loads of addons) but otherwise you should be fine with that Regards Steve
  15. Great! Glad to help. Let’s hope it’s sorted :) Regards Steve
  16. No worries. Glad the rudder pedals are still good :) Regards Steve
  17. No prob. Sorry I didn’t solve it. You may be right about it though with the display going off like that. I presume you’ve got the default throttle unit that plugs into the yoke? When I bought the Saitek yoke, I also bought the additional throttle unit, which has a usb socket (I tried to connect the original throttle with the ps2 plug to the pc first of course… but computer said no LOL. They want you to buy the extra throttle unit) I still have that today & still use it (sort of) I’ve got one of the buttons set to activate VR.. one of the levers is set to mixture.. and another for the parking brake! LOL With one of these USB Saitek throttles, you wouldn’t need the Honeycomb Bravo throttles (althogh the Bravo is superb and so much better) Going back to your yoke, I agree it’s not down to MSFS, as some simmers with the same issue are using it with Xplane. Hope you sort it or manage to get a new one ok. Regards Steve
  18. I’m at a loss then. There are tons of posts about it though on various forums. Some saying they have fixed it, while others still trying to sort it. Have a browse… maybe you’ll find the solution. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/pro-flight-yoke-disconnecting/376145 https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/138723-solved-saitek-yoke-disconnects-delete/ https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/484674-saitek-yoke-keeps-disconnecting/ Regards Steve
  19. Hi, I used to own a Saitek yoke (I sold it after just a few weeks & bought the Honeycomb) but I’m pretty sure I used Saitek’s drivers for it. Maybe you should give them a try? Is the yoke plugged directly into the pc or are you using a USB hub? Plugging straight into the pc might be best. Another thought.. have you checked if you’ve got USB Power management enabled? Disable it if so. How to Enable or Disable USB Selective Suspend in Windows 10 via Control Panel Open Control Panel. ... Click “Hardware and Sound” Press “Power Options” Click “Change plan settings” ... Press “Change advanced power settings” Look for the USB selective suspend settings and enable or disable it. Hope this helps Regards Steve
  20. Hi Peter, I run Win 11 and haven’t had any problems activating the Bell 47. I presume you’ve got the serial key. It’s been a while since I did it.. but I think the FlyInside Heli Manager needs to be running? Your best bet is probably to contact FlyInside. Hopefully they’ll be able to help. Regards Steve
  21. Yes, I don’t see why not. I use the alpha yoke & bravo throttles, along with rudder pedals of course. I highly recommend the Airbus H145 by Hype Performance Group https://www.hypeperformancegroup.com/ Regards Steve
