  1. Buffalo seems pretty varied with many tours etc...
  2. It is still my opinion that MS peaked with FS2004. The balance between High quality Freeware and Payware was stellar. So the sim is still extremely viable with careful and selective installs. I have FSX, FSXSE, P3D 1,3 & 4, XP11. Guess which one gets most usage?
  3. If nothing else it will hopefully inject new enthusiasm for simming. Have to say I have noticed that various forums I visit seem to attract less and less traffic and the users are aging also. We need young blood.
  4. I understood he was having vision issues which forced his retirement from designing aircraft.
  5. I got mine at Avsim which honestly is way faster. It is really excellent scenery and has pleased me greatly as I recently resurrected FS9. Thank you to the designer. It goes great with Aerosoft's LOWI as claimed. FS.com really need to look into getting a better provider imo.

    FS9 crash

This is why the good lord gave us SceneryConfigEditor v1.1.9 - seek it out. It is good for FS9, FSX all varieties and P3D all flavours. Then with a simple interface you can deselect or select sceneries as the mood takes you.
  7. ORBX is a huge resource hog in FSX at least. I ditched it for UT which is much friendlier imo
  8. Yes I think it's a given. 2D only would be a giant step backwards.
  9. This is why the Lord provided us with SceneryConfigEditor v1.1.9 search, find use. easy peasy.
  10. That doesn't achieve any more than just unplugging and re inserting the failing Saitek unit which is what they require you to do anyway. In my case it is the Multi Panel which needs re envigorating.
  11. Are you using the disc version? I know from experience that with W10 it can sit there doing seemingly nothing for over 15 minutes or more and then gets under way quite slowly. Subsequent discs install no problem as does the Acceleration disc. Another reason I waited for a Steam sale and got that version.
  12. Been using MS's Defender for years without any infections whatsoever. Also the freeby Malwarebytes.
  13. Canx that just read "Remember that you are always able to opt out of the beta branch and return to the normal branch at any time" so I guess not.
  14. Wondering..... is it possible to retain the orig FSXSE, or does this Beta overwrite the settings in the AppData folder.
  15. I have never come across anything which is not compatible.
  16. Can Steam still retail FSXSE since MS took back the licence?
  17. Are you aware of the new Honeycomb products coming on line https://flyhoneycomb.com/ they get very good reviews and are still in the affordable class. I saw a recent video of Austin Meyer (XP boss) and he gave the yoke his seal of approval. Boy is he enthusiastic
  18. Bit disingenuous to be comparing a modern 64bit XP11 with a 2006 32bit FSX.
  19. Yes indeed Simply the best way to keep scenery in and/or out of the sim. Works with FS9, FSX, FSXSE, P3D all variants.
  20. Previous to the recent MS announcement reclaiming FSX from Steam I would have suggested getting the product from them. Just wondering if that is no longer possible. No exactly relevant to the original question as that has passed of course, but the curious may like to know. Installing FSX from disc can be problematic in W10 whereas Steam install was a doddle. I know I have both.
  21. There is a fix for that, the windows being blacked out. Sad that this does not work in P3D
  22. I really wish people would supply links to where they get various files because it ain't here nor any of the major fs sites. It is here along with many other superb examples of French freeware http://virtua-aerodesign.net/html/fsx.html Just thinking ahead for perhaps newbies who have not an extensive knowledge of the more obscure sites.
  23. Why are you minimising the seriousness of a series of incidents? These are 3 vile murders so far and the whole sorry story will not end well.
