  1. Dan, can I get the round gages with the Premium edition on STEAM?
  2. I am just learning MS2020 and am on the steep part of the curve so forgive me if I have lots of questions for awhile. I purchased MS2020 Steam Version and cannot find the Cessna 172 Steam Gages, only the G-1000. Is there something I can do to find it? Thank you.
  3. Never mind, I found the fix. The programs now sees the trim wheel. I would appreciate any of you owning a Flight Velocity Trim Wheel if you would give me your sensitivity settings. Thank you.
  4. I received my new Flight Velocity Trim Wheel and installed it. Some progress. When I go to control options and select trim wheel I get a question mark and nothing else; however, when I go to Sensitivity I do see the trim wheel and am able to watch it move. When flying there is no response to the trim wheel. Help?
  5. I thank you all for your expert advice. Now to decide.
  6. I am planning to upgrade my systems. What do you think my internet speed should be for best results? Also, the best CPU motherboard, and video card? While I am not rich, I can afford a good system. Thanks for your advice.
  7. Most new and veteran flight simmers do not want to learn the intricacies of software and hardware. Their lack of knowledge frustrates them. Every hour of exploring the maze of set-up is resented. They want to fly; to learn navigation; to explore; and for overall to experience pleasure. FS2020 was to be the golden grail and now after only a short time, disappointment has set in. It turns out that it’s the same Christmas tree with shinier ornaments. If I were in charge (how many times have you heard that?) I would specify the EXACT controls/systems hardware necessary to run my flight sim—require that customers buy them (if you can’t afford them, well, …) such that installation and flying away would simply be to connect your new controllers and stuff--that is specified--and push “GO “and fly away. As for add-ons, the program makers would demand they be plug-and-go and if you don’t know how to do that take up another trade. Lastly, I would want to attract new flyers and to woo away those using other flight sims. Many of these have PTSD and are afraid of changing ANYTHING (if it ain’t broke…). So I would have a great operator’s manual and support team in place, at least for the first year with the assumption that the customer is technically incompetent. In other words, make the experience of purchasing, set-up, and running the software easy. I don’t see that happening for many years to come. Lastly (I know) to all you techies, electronics technicians, and software writers who boast here, “I had no problems and love FS2020”, we’re impressed and happy for you.
  8. Thank you Steve. I reinstalled the drivers--no luck. I'm going to buy the Flight Velocity wheel.
  9. Don't know what "bindings" are really. The Cessna Saitek trim wheel cannot be found by MS2020--at all. My grandson has a BS in Computer Programming and a BS in Statistical Math from BU and works for MS on the campus in Redding. I've made him aware of my problem and asked for his assistance. Maybe he can find someone who can advise me. We'll see. If there is a techie who can make an add-on to the wheel to make it work I would purchase one. I just want MS2020 to work at least as well as FSX.
  10. Thank you, Steve. I would purchase another trim wheel if I were sure it would work. So, now I have my new FS2020 and won't be able to trim with a wheel. If I switch back to FSX would I have to reconfigure and remap?
  11. I'm setting up MS2020 flight simulator and found that it can't recognize my Saitek Cessna Trim Wheel even though it is on the hardware task bar along with my rudder pedals and yoke. During the scanning I have spun the wheel for a long time multiple times but no luck. Anyone know how to solve this problem?
  12. Hey Dave, I haven't flown the FS2020 yet but am not thrilled with it except for the graphics. I'm glad I still have FSX to fall back on. I still have to learn how to make flight plans, etc. with it. So far everything is more complicated. Now to learn how to solve my trim wheel problem...
  13. I used You Tube as you suggested and managed to set up my controls except for my Pro Flight Cessna Trim Wheel. I see it at the top of my screen identified as such. But when I try to set it up and start scanning nothing happens: it does not see the trim wheel when I spin it. Also, I cannot get directly to the Welcome Screen. I must endure long views of a stone wall with a blue progress line at the bottom going very slowly and world updates etc. before finally getting to the Welcome Screen. Can I do something to get directly to the Welcome Screen? Thank you for your patience.
  14. I see several FS2020 manuals on Amazon. I need one to help me set up my flight controllers. Can you recommend one?
  15. I am using Steam FS2020 for the first time and am overwhelmed from the start. I'm used to FX10 where I just pick out my aircraft and fly. Now there seems an unending series of actions I must take, though the screens are pretty. Is there an instruction manual that will tell me what I must do from the time of opening FS2020 for the first time? I'm old and need some handholding. Thank you.
  16. Can I upgrade from Steam X to Steam 2020 and do you recommend it?
  17. Is this tutorial available anywhere anymore?
  18. Will the resident G1000 be enhanced in the MSFS2020? Easier to use?
  19. Is the six miles on the plate from your airplane to the runway or six ground miles--nautical or statute?
  20. Welcome New Guy. I think your impressive CV has impressed our many very qualified forum members and your request found to be daunting in its complexity. I confess, however, that I am not one of the gifted and qualified members and wouldn’t presume to give you advice. Except. Do learn everything you can about the new 2020 Microsoft Flight Simulator and its potential effect on your hardware, software, and goals as that will no doubt be your flight simulator. Else, the only parity between us is our age and enthusiasm. Best of luck!
  21. I'm sorry, Larry. I meant when the 2020 MF Flight Sim becomes available on STEAM and for Purchase, is there a good reason to choose one over the other. Will STEAM run smoother and take on the responsibility of fixes and upgrades? Or is it better to do them oneself assuming ability.
