  1. I am revisiting my STEAM installation of MS2020 hoping that after a year it has become better. I am mapping my flight controllers and noticed my Redbird Pedals are chattering and the rudder visibly moving an inch or so each way rapidly. My Assistance Options are all OFF. The only assignment for rudder pedals is on the Redbird Pedals. I checked each of the other flight controls for an inadvertent assignment but they are clean; however, I noticed that on my Redbird Throttle RD1 assignments, while there is no assignment, there is a white bar for the Rudder Axis Left and the Reverse is checked. It doesn't move when I push the pedals. Any advice on removing the chatter?
  2. Thank you, gentlemen. Sporty's Pilot Shop ( I bought it there) shows it as a "Hat Switch" but it doesn't seem like it. I'll give Redbird a call tomorrow and see what they say. Also, no Redbird software.
  3. On the right yoke handle of the Redbird Yoke is a hatswitch. I want to configure it for a "LOOK PAN" but can't seem to figure out how to do that. Has anyone successfully done that? i7-7700k @ 4.2 Ghz, 16 GB DDR4/3000,2280 SSD M.2,Genome II Case,Nvidia GTX 1080 rear exhaust, Samsung 40" HDTV & Two 24" HP side monitors. Redbird Alloy yoke, pedals, and throttle. A single Saitek Instrument Panel and Cessna trim wheel. Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers. Windows 10 64 bit. 58 measured Mbps.
  4. Thank you, ezunino. I found it. I had hoped to be able to view it from my c-drive without opening MS2020 and print portions. Is that possible with my setup?
  5. Please excuse me if this is not the appropriate forum for this problem. I have MS2020 STEAM. It is time for me to learn how to use it knowing I'm not a computer person. I downloaded the MS2020 from orbx and now can't find it to open. When I open orbx I go to My Products and find SoFly "A Guide to Flight Simulators-Extended". I open that and find "E: \Flight Simulator Backup. I go to disk E address and find "Community" and "Official". I open "Community" and find "Sofly Manual" and find stuff but not the manual. Then I open Official, find STEAM, and then find only the many aircraft. Orbx hasn't answered my inquiry. Do any of you know how I may open the manual so I can begin reading it? Thanks for reading this problem.
  6. I'm surprised that smoothly operating trim wheels are not on the list.
  7. I am using the default C-172 and the mouse to turn the key. I also wait till I see the hand before turning the key. It all works fine with the 2-D cockpit but haphazardly with the 3-D. Though I can use the keyboard keys or switch to the 2-D cockpit it does diminish the effect. Not a big problem and thanks for taking the time to reply.
  8. When in 3D cockpit the key either won't turn at all or will turn one position and stay there. I have to switch to the 2D cockpit to turn the ignition key. A reality damper. Any ideas?
  9. Before flight simulators I was a sailor. I began with a max budget and my first boat was a 15’ day sailor. I had a great time sailing it but there was a problem: I couldn’t invite women on board for more than two hours because of nature’s calls. So, I violated my max budget oath and bought a 25’ sailboat with a head and small galley. It fixed the problem but created another. The little outboard motor that sat in an engine well at the stern wasn’t powerful enough in a wind to move the boat properly and the gas tanks got in the way in the cockpit. So yet again I violated my new max and bought a 27’ sailboat with a diesel inboard engine. Each time I sold it was at a loss. I would have been so much better off had I just bought the 27’ boat first. Then it was single-handing. I’m sorry to say I repeated my max budget promises when I started simming: small computer, cheap controls, and ignorance; after all, I just wanted to fly. With each upgrade I lost old money and spent new money. Only now am I happy (except I’m still working on the ignorance part). My point is look at the sim rigs of those on the forums who are happy and knowledgeable and spend the money at the outset. It will hurt only a little while and you’ll be happier in the end.
  10. Can you fly APV Approaches with the MSFS20 default GPS's?
  11. Mac, you failed to find the eye of a newt and toe of a frog dipped in chicken blood that came with the last upgrade. They are in the .voodoo file next to the .hex file. Your problem is an easy fix: at any midnight wave your mouse pointer over the aforementioned files chanting “zero-one, one-zero, Microsoft”, then as hard as you can, click the .voodoo file first, then the .hex file. This fix is permanent but you should keep of copy on an old hard drive away from your sim-rig while waiting for the next upgrade.
  12. Thanks to you, I am happy to report that I have mastered doing Addons for FSX. Having done so I’ve gone a little bit crazy adding airports, scenery, and one airplane. (I want to fly the Beaver after I’ve become proficient with the Cessna 172 and all navigation). I would like to have your opinion about the best Cessna 172 glass cockpit addon as that will be my default plane for quite a while. Thank you.
  13. Thanks for all your efforts Mr.Zippy, they are much appreciated. I think I have enough information now to work it out.
  14. More success. In "Settings-Scenic Library" I now have in the #1 position "Teterboro-KTEB version 2.0". It has a check next to it as does "Addon Scenery" below it and all the others below. I highlight Teterboro click "Okay" and it loads (Building database...". I go to Free Flight to Change Name of departure airport to Teterboro, click on Add On Scenery, and expect to see Teterboro but nothing is there. In post #6 his was there. My Addons is empty.
  15. Almost there and thank you for your patience. I did as you said above and I found: 1. The Teterboro Scenery was not in the FSX Library 2. I found 7zFM.exe and 7zG.exe in C:/Program Files>7-zip> I am supposing that I should have instructed the Install to the FSX Library instead of the C:/Program Files. If so, do I move 7zFM.exe and 7zG.exe from the C:/Program Files to a FSX folder? Which one?
  16. All went well: I double clicked and saw the decompression of the Teterboro and I'm sure a second Teterboro folder was created, but where can I find it? I do see in the "Downloads" folder two subfolders: 7z2106-x64(1).exe 7z2106-x64.exe. Is it one of these?
  17. I just downloaded 7-ZIP and saw it in my Program Files.
  18. Sorry, Zip, but I now have downloaded the file and it is sitting in my download folder. What do I do with it? Do I have to move it? And then does it appear automatically whenever I'm at or near the airport? I hope to use this thread as a template for adding other airports later. Thanks again. And to you Jorgen for your suggestion.
  19. Is there a FSX Scenery for Teterboro Airport? I haven't done an add-on because I'm afraid I'll screw it up but I would like to add Block Island and Providence also. Is there a thread on how to add add-ons for Dummies? I have FSX Steam.
  20. Depending on the relative position of the instrument panel to the sun the instrument panel may become a bit dark. I programmed a button to turn on Panel Lights (keyboard shift-L). The button works only when the time of day is dusk or night but not if the instrument panel is in the shade. Shouldn't the instrument lights be able to be switched on anytime?
