So, after many, many years of resisting FS2004..

installing the FS9.1 update after installing an addon is almost always a bad idea. the patch overwrites some of the default files and if an addon has messed with them in any way the patch will not work. definitely get the patch in first. I've installed A2A products after the patch and never had problems. -

i'm working with tom on the testing aspect of it. it has great potential and will unlock many features never thought possible. a major one will be the DX12 but also higher res textures and shadows. its still very early though. i'll be posting a video on the subject in the future, though I don't have a date.

I find that I tend to use a good amount of pitch trim on all my approaches. reason being I have much better control over the flare. another reason being Saitek yokes can sometimes overcontrol the aircraft and cause overcontrolling even with small inputs. if you watch one of my 737 landings in the livestreams I do, you'll hear the trim wheel a decent amount to make fine adjustments.

FS2004 Water Textures With No Frame Rate Impact

I recommend everything in ENVTEX. they make the sim look amazing. the Cloud textures at 512 32bit are really really good. tad hard on FPS. try them with your system. a good rule of thumb is this. 1024 looks good but loses a 3d effect. 512 is less sharp but the 3d volumetric effect is much much better. if you have FSUIPC the visibility settings will also greatly improve the look of the sim. i have mine set as this clr: 5000 cloudy: 4000 overcast: 3000 rain: 1100 -

i've never heard of water textures causing a decrease in FPS. that said the best I know are from ENVTEX. highly recommend. -

thanks all! the VC originally was off color and much too flat. I updated it to match the real aircraft much more closely. i'm a VC Flyer so I try to make that experience more enjoyable! -

ifly 737 runs fine for me on windows 10. great plane, great price. I fly the heck out of it. it works fine in windows 10 for me. the disconnecting of the AP at cruise sounds like a bad FSUIPC install. try reinstalling and reactivating FSUIPC.

hello all. I am having troubles with SweetFX. I cannot for the life of me figure out whats wrong, but with SweetFX in the sim, I lose all Anti Aliasing from Nvidia Inspector. it never used to do this but It started recently and I cannot solve the problem. any help would be great. thanks

there is a new high quality scenery in the pipeline for FS2004. Renton Municipal KRNT is being developed. release date is unknown as the guys who are developing it are busy at the moment. i've got the v1 version to test and I'm looking into enhancing the surrounding area with buildings and custom autogen/vegetation. FS9 IS ALIVE. I have a youtube channel for the sim and it is slowly growing. FS9 users are very passionate about this sim. it is stable and always brings joy to its users

I tried the 1024 32bit from ENVTEX. my testing consists of 3 layers of overcast cumulus 4000ft thick. then I load up heathrow and a heavy airplane and go for a spin. the REX clouds I found to be best were cumulus 41. a bit softer with less defined lines and make the sim look very nice. as for shaders, i just tweaked the blues and saturation a bit. the default sim has a very grey washed out appearance, so this fixed that and made it look a bit more like P3D (which I was wanting) to each his own however

ENVTEX rules in every aspect except runway textures and clouds. the ENVTEX clouds are very FPS heavy. check out my youtube channel Short Final and you can look at some examples of my sim with ENVTEX installed with REX clouds. best combo ever

I am an FS9 guy but I have FS2002 on my PC for nostalgia. (windows 10) I've noticed the same thing. It is best to start with the 172 before switching planes. the best option that I recommend is to get FS9 for her unless her PC can not handle it. with all default scenery you can expect over 100fps no questions asked on a decent PC. with addons you can expect anywhere from 30-60. here's a link to my channel showing how to upgrade FS9 if you are interested. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_CaTfA5MnBsr3AxlFkH06g

the Runway identifiers are also updated i believe. same with Tampa. 36 is now 01. but It's a good addon otherwise. I picked up the whole series from FSDT on sale during black friday. saved myself about 50.00. you could post the edited afcad file for others to download. I myself never have traffic so it's not too big a deal.

I actually found a working crack for Active Camera 2.1 (FS9 9.1) that works. I posted the links and all on my youtube channel. I only share AC and other unbuyable Addons cause you can no longer purchase them. I've had a couple people saying the Active Camera itself won't work but the Crack works for almost everyone and I have it saved in multiple places on the cloud and my PC so I'll never lose it. ADMIN: Delete my comment if illegal.

That is a limitation to active camera. You would need to get DBS Walk and Follow. I'm doing some research to see if it's still available for sale. Supposedly the email activation system no longer works so you can buy it, but you cant activate it cause your code comes through the email

I use FSDT KLAS and a freeware photoreal with autogen I found. works like a charm and is a favorite destination to fly to now. here's a video showing Las Vegas. the audio at the end is out of sync for some reason but you can see the visuals

I've noticed with Windows 10, using any option other than Multisampling (8x max) I get a bluescreen. never happened with windows 7, but I was running 16x something with something else but not multisampling and I never had any problems. My drivers are also up to date and everything so i'm not sure why this happens.

install a second copy of FS2002 and just copy over the aircraft folder. you can also try and pull them off the disk without installing a second copy, but i think they're in a cab file.

Very cool shots!!!! I'm an avid FS9 user myself. I noticed you use ENB. I used to use it but switched over to Sweetfx and like the results way better than ENB as the colors are more vivid but not blown out. someone mentioned using an SSD improved performance. is it worth getting an SSD for the flightsims if this is the case? and if so what is a good option (best bang for my buck)?
