  1. I kind of hate how FS2020 modelled icing. yes it's nice and all, but I hit a cloud and it's 1 degree below and within seconds I lose all the ability to see. I talked to a friend who flies 737's and mentioned this and he feels it's over exaggerated too much. he doesnt think it should ice over that fast. just food for thought. i've not had ice in real life, nor do I care to in a 172, FIKI rarely ends well for ill prepared airplanes and i'd rather not become a statistic.
  2. that is innsbruck! Figured the approach could use some extra visuals. default mountains made the approach look quite bland.
  3. I used to run FS9 in full screen. hate windowed mode. however my Friend showed me this plugin. Just runs in the background and works with FS9 seamlessly. looks and acts identically to Full screen mode but without the glitches and need to add the Diablo III tweak to get AA to work. here's how to get it.
  4. Try going through FSUIPC. It's free now so you can get the full version.
  5. The question is where though? I don't have money to travel at all. The closest airport for me is KCLE and I only know of 757s going in there for FedEx and UPS. That would work but ive got no connections.
  6. Hello All! After fighting with FSET for countless hours I have finally gotten Innsbruck Photoreal v2 completed. this new version includes Full Seasonal textures, Night textures, and full autogen. i've attached a screenshot below. let me know what you think! I'll be releasing it on flightsim.com once I can figure out how to upload it. to start it will be on the avsim library. just search Joshua Moore and it will pop up!
  7. Trust me, I have tried to use internet photos. it is almost impossible without photoshop to even come close, and even still it would look bad due to discoloration. secondly, there is no way I would be able to even get close to a 767 in the US. the only friends I know that flew them worked for American and the 757/767 fleet there has been retired. I've already gotten all the necessary permissions to upload. just need to get the page working.
  8. UPDATE: went to upload the textures to the captainsim file library and you have to be logged in to upload a file. After logged into my account it said I didn't have permission to access the files saying that I dont have an order number. I open my account page and there are 2 order numbers. One for the CS757 base pack and one for the -300 expansion. I contact the guy ive been talking to and he told me to contact Captain Sim and Captain Sim 2. The latter hasn't been active for 2 years and the former won't respond to any pms or posts I make. Captainsim forums are quite literally useless... still trying.
  9. I got FS2020 for my birthday and honestly I dont see why everyone hates on the flight model. Im a Private Pilot and was eager to see how the 152 and 172 fly and from what I can tell the stall characteristics are very close as is the flight handling. From my view the flight model is very well done. The one improvement would be soft field takeoff characteristics. I found that even with full aft elevator the 152s nose would not lift off till around 15kts. This isn't how it is in real life as when I apply full power the nose pops off almost immediately. But all in all they've done a good job. Will it overtake X-Plane 11 eventually? Yes I think so. Is it better than the flight models of FS9 and FSX? I say by far. I have to force myself to fly a GA airplane in fs9 due to lack scenery and the flight dynamics. As for Airliners, I think FS9 works well for that and ill continue to fly it. But this will be a never ending debate of some calling a sim and some calling it a game.
  10. UPDATE TIME: I've come to an agreement with Captainsim who will allow me to release the textures with the following conditions. 1. They will be released exclusively on the Captainsim repaint library 2. You will need to own the Captainsim 757 Basepack (10.00 on simmarket) to get the Level-D 767 VC textures. Im lucky they are allowing me to share them. They're a stubborn bunch. Shpuldve asked them when they were going to fix the STARs page in the FMC so I dont have to manually type it all in 🤪😂. But anyway that is the answer. Yes they will be released. But you will need the CS 757 baseball to get them. Unless you can get into the Captainsim Library without the purchase. We'll see.
  11. yeah I converted if for the Feelthere from FSX along with a couple others I couldn't find for FS9. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pDz4S-40pRl5clfXkFF9H6U4PjDzG848/view?usp=sharing
  12. in most steam gauge airplanes (Till later this month when I start flying the G1000 SP models) gyroscopic procession exists. some worse than others. we use the magnetic compass to check and realign the heading indicator. note that in almost every case the compass is always Magnetic. wind directions are in True, as are the standard US sectional charts. you find the isogonic lines of deviation and add or subtract them to the TC. I'm not sure to what extent FS9 simulates this as I don't fly GA too often in FS9.
  13. I've been trying the CS forums and email. Will try the Level-D forums as well.
  14. I will give it 1 week. If I hear nothing, I will post them. I messaged the senior forum member months ago about something else and never got a reply even though he is often online. My last resort would be to post into the P3D captainsim forums since they're a little more travelled... and as for Level-D, I cannot find any email through which to contact them.
  15. well i'm going to give Captainsim another shot. sent one of the Devs a PM through the forums. i've posted some issues with the CS757 I've had in the past with no response at all so i'm not expecting a response. as for Level-D, i'll try contacting them but I don't think I will get a response either. will update.
  16. Nor has captainsim for FS9. I didn't get a response from them either. So I should be clear to post them with permission from Zinertek. Ill upload them tonight to the Avsim and Flightsim library.
  17. ok here we go. these are comparison shots of different aircraft from my viewpoint. sadly fs9 doesn't have a great 2D panel representation for these two so I have to make due but the point is the same. so i've added the ifly 737 for a good payware control. the real-world photos are my own (except the 737. I don't fly those yet haha) starting with the C172. this was taken from my exactly where my viewpoint is. seat all the way forward, 6 full turns of the chair height adjuster down from the top. from the 2D panel from the VC (not that great of quality) and the real photo (airport: 29D) for the Piper Cherokee: (I flew right seat on this airplane so I don't have a left seat photo) from the 2D panel from the VC and the real photo now for the 737. on the departure going through clouds in the 2D felt nothing like real life. breaking out I couldn't look up and see them backed by blue sky in the 2D panel. in the VC you have a better sense of speed. from the 2D panel: from the VC the real photo and the VC from the same angle I don't know if this will help at all, but figured I would SHOW my opinion rather than bicker. this argument is as old as VC's have been around but maybe this will add a little to it.
  18. Great News! I got a reply from zinertek that says quote: "Thank you for contacting us regarding your intentions to share your updated Level-D 767 VC cockpit textures. In the past we have caught people modifying and redistributing our textures without permission which is not nice. So we really appreciate the fact that you are directly asking us for permission to use a couple of our textures in your Level-D 767 VC cockpit mod. Because you were honest and respectful of our copyright rights, we will allow you to use and share our textures in your new update. Happy New Year! Kind Regards, Maurice Roenick" so I'm now just waiting on a reply from Captainsim!
  19. Ok and the next time I get up ill take some photos from my viewpoint and compare with the 2D panel vs VC.
  20. ok I have emailed zinertek and will update when I have a response. i'll also email Captainsim.
  21. Skywatcher12. from my experience flying real life, the VC view is much more "true to life" than flying a cutout with gauges. there's no real sense of depth. with VC it's a little better.
  22. with the VC, the bigger the monitor, the better. 24" is usually fine. set your zoom in the VC cockpit to .5 or so to get the best result. you can also add these lines to the fs9.cfg in the Panels section: VIRTUAL_COCKPIT_TEXTURES_scale=2.0 what this does is increase the pixel count of the VC instruments so they are clearer and easier to read.
  23. i'll definitely email zinertek and see about sharing them. maybe they wouldn't have a problem with it? if they do then i'll remove all their textures and replace them with the original Level-D. while I don't agree with PMDG saying it was "competition" because if they think their FS2004 737 is competition with the ifly, then I pity them. i've flown both. the PMDG for fs9 is way off. the ifly textures aren't compatible with the FSX version anyway so really there was no competition. I wish they could've made an agreement with ifly to offer the textures for sale for like 5.00 or so for the FS9 737 ONLY. no competition, and a boost for both ifly and PMDG. in any regard, I don't want to end up on the naughty list for a developer. that wouldn't go too well. :p
  24. yes. this is exactly the reason I'll remove all the Zinertek textures. i'd love to share but really dont want another email from a company's legal team haha. I didn't think about that side then. I certainly do now! I hope Captainsim will allow me to use their VC textures for the level-d.
