  1. In an RNAV you do not need a Localizer. it is LNAV VNAV based and strictly GPS driven. you usually have to set the next altitude on the MCP panel for the Autopilot to descend, unlike an ILS where the GS is captured and the Altitude window is not used after setting the Missed app alt. There is an approach which uses VNAV with an ILS Localizer, called an LPV.
  2. so I've flown around 6.7hrs with it so far for the review, and from what ive heard with people that own both carenado and Just Flight, the Carenado is like a toy. what i've found so far: the night lighting could be improved, though it has that "hard to see" feel you get from many aircraft of the period. I always use a headlamp when flying at night in aircraft with just a red light. 2nd, for some reason, Just Flight decided to leave out the entire US in terms of altimeter setting. no Inches Hg to be found, only QNH. that could use an update. the HSI also recesses, something it should not do, so you have to switch back to the heading indicator, reset the heading, and then switch back to the HSI... ruins the immersion and lastly I could not figure out the GPS100. I read the manual, but couldn't get anywhere with it. those are the negatives. I absolutely love flying the airplane, and for those struggling with speed issues, you need to lean the mixture to peak EGT, and a good setting for the prop and power is 25/25, or 24/24. at high altitudes, 20/24 or 20/25 work well too.
  3. the FS2004 flight lessons are also quite good. I did all of them many times back when I was getting into it.
  4. Hello all! The much awaited Just Flight Arrow III has just been released! https://www.justflight.com/product/pa-28r-arrow-iii-microsoft-flight-simulator
  5. it is sometimes good, sometimes terrible. i've had smooth 30fps and no issues. this however is very glitchy 30FPS, tons of microstudders. many others are having the same issue.
  6. hello all. again more issues with FS2020. i've been struggling with FPS since the last update, and now i'm noticing that the CPU and GPU drop almost 50% usage when going into any VC cockpit. outside I have 95% utilization and 60fps, hop inside and bam, 30-35fps with only 45-50% utilization on both GPU and CPU. I am on the latest drivers, so i've no clue why this is happening. has this happened to anyone else?
  7. Hello all. I made a flight yesterday from Indi exec to Northeast Ohio Regional yesterday, and the metars were showing it was overcast at 7,000, as was the satellite imagery on AWC, however when loading the flight in MSFS (first flight load) it was clear. winds were there and all, but no clouds. in fact I didn't see clouds till I was just outside of Cleveland and then it was almost overcast when the metars were saying scattered at 3000. the altitude was right at least. my question is, why is this happening? i've not had the greatest luck with the weather being spot on as it should. am I missing something?
  8. I have the DVD with all the original liveries on them for the 737. not sure if those are included but I can look. I'd recommend upgrading to the ifly 737.
  9. nice! welcome to the club! I started with flight sims and got my PPL at 18. 19 now working on my instrument rating! if I can take one thing away from my PPL training, this is to learn to fly without a GPS. using a non electronic E6B and not having a GPS or foreflight but rather a paper flightplan is one of the best things I was told to do. don't get me wrong, I love using a GPS, and I've used a good few, (Gtn400, Gtn430, Gtn530, Gtn650, Gtn750, and soon G1000nxi) the ability to use paper and find your way is a far more valuable skill becoming a child of the magenta. good luck!!
  10. i've had this issue with the Alaska More To Love livery for the A320.
  11. worked like a charm, and from what I see, No fps losses from the HDD! thanks a ton! that will save me 100+ in buying a 1tb SSD for the time being!
  12. hello all! I am wondering, I have a 256gb SSD on which FS2020 is installed, however there is only 93gb left or so. is it possible to put Scenery on a separate hard drive and paste a shortcut to said scenery in the Community folder? otherwise I have 2TB of useless HDD. thanks!
  13. these are the settings that I have found match my 172s handling in real life. it helps a ton with the landing control as well. set the same for any other joystick. For RUDDER PEDALS, set sensitivity -50% on both and add a 9% deadzone. this gives the most realistic result, as in real life Cessna's usually are a bit sluggish on the rudder. works well for the other aircraft as well. hope this helps.
  14. ok. thanks for the help! trying to review it and hard to do with a CTD every 5 minutes!
  15. well you were right! removed the CGL file and loaded up perfectly. what exactly does that file do?
  16. i'll give it a try and report back. I think has to do with my VRAM. i'm at 7.5 of 8gb used with the A320, but that wouldn't explain why it crashed in the C150 when I had a lot more open.
  17. hello all. I am having issues with DD Narita running. it seems that with High settings all around the sim will crash when loading. I managed to get it to the point it can load but after 10 minutes or so it crashes again. I have the same scenery on my laptop with worse specs and it runs without issue. what could be causing this? thank you. specs: GPU: GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8gb vram CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor @4.2ghz Memory: 16 GB RAM (15.95 GB RAM usable) Current resolution: 1920 x 1080, 75Hz Operating system: windows 10 64bit
  18. another good tip for the pattern in a 172 or 150 is the 75,70,65 rule. 75kts downwind, 70kts base, 65kts final, and short final reduce to 60kts for the flare. the 150 is almost the same. learn to land the light planes before moving to larger ones.
  19. ok. I'm upgrading my PC right now. bought a new one from someone else for a steal. Sold my Current PC (GTX 1050ti, i7 2600, 8gb DDR3) for 450 and am going to buy the new one (GTX 1080ti, i7 10700F, 16gb DDR4) for 950, leaving 500 out of pocket. he needed the money and the PC is almost brand new. going to give it a thorough look before I buy it but the from the videos sent it seems legit. i'll plug in my SSD and theoretically FS9 should just work out of the gate, given I update the drivers and all. I hope I won't need a reinstall of FS9. but yes AC should work with this crack if you ever need it.
  20. correct. i hope. some people have had issues with it working, and others work fine
  21. it means the software will work without an activation key. it seems any legal activation keys also dont activate anymore so this is the only way. it is only compatible with the Active Camera version for FS9.1
  22. if you need any help, I run both. there is a tiny issue with the DBS WAF that you will need to address. after installing, go to the modules folder and remove the Walk portion of DBS. this will ensure Active Camera works for the VC and DBS works for the outside. if you need to crack Active camera since it's not been available to purchase for 8+ years, just follow the link Skywatcher12 posted and I posted the link in that thread.
