  1. Gi'day Clinton, With the recent "closure" of the SOAR website (https://www.virtualsoaring.org/) there doesn't appear to be any thermal generators available atm. Condor Soaring (https://www.condorsoaring.com/), a dedicated gliding simulator, has an extensive collection of freeware sceneries available (including South Africa) if you don't want to glide in Slovenia. Francisco Vargas has about 200+ random thermal sceneries available in the flightsim.com library (some a little buggier than others). But hey ... Of course you can always produce your own; download the BGLComp SDK, it includes instructions for creating Thermal lift areas. Happy Soaring, Regards, Dorian
  2. JonB, You have PM (Private Mail). Regards, Dorian

Yes, but that's not really what the OP (Robin) wants ... As I posted (in reply #4) Gunther Zielosko's use of Pete Dowson's GPSOut and a tablet is one possible (and easily achievable) solution. Regards, Dorian

Unfortunately whilst the Mutley's Hanger review of Plan-G discusses Live Google Maps Integration this was not implemented in v3. As Tim explains: "It was and is clear that there is no way on earth I can pay Google's $10,000 PER YEAR licence fee, and so the choice was simple: Make a v3 with no Google maps, or shut down Plan-G altogether." https://www.tasoftware.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=2557.msg13272#msg13272 Per Plan-G v3.2.2 ReadMe: Notes: Maps PG3 uses maps based on Open StreetMap (OSM) data. This has the advantage of being free and will always be free. The downside is that the servers can be bandwidth limited (OSM themselves get very uppity if you start hitting their server heavily). The preferred servers for PG3 are from MapQuest, which is a commercial company that sponsors a free access server and doesn't complain about bandwidth. So, I am sorry to report, Plan-G does not use Google Earth/Maps (and has not done so since v2). Regards, Dorian

Gi'day Robin, Might be of some interest ... https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?332175-Fly-over-real-terrain Dorian
  6. Errrr ... maybe a stupid question, but do you actually have Fltsim.Flt in your Flights\other\ folder? Just asking. Dorian
  7. Shouldn't be any need to make compatibility adjustments ... just now ran a bulk traffic .bgl file search (180+ separate traffic files) with AIFP v3.4.1.6 under Win10 64bit and experienced no problems whatsoever. Just sayin'. Regards, Dorian
  8. You can always install FSRealTime v1.99e (however, I think it is no longer being developed). Do a Google search. What you're really looking for in FSRealTime is Dennis Thompson's World Time Zones v3.0 files which comes bundled with the software; this eliminates many of the time zone errors that shipped with FS9. Moving Map?

Rana Hossain's FS2004 FSMMovingMap v1.2 available from the Library. Regards, Dorian
  11. Yá’át’ééh! You could also use Paavo Pihelgas' ExcBuilder v2.0 for FS2004. You will need to also d/l FSConnect.dll and .bglComp.exe (available from Avsim). It's a fairly simple programme to set up and use. PM me if you have any problems. Might want to also d/l David Opa Marshall's excellent updated tutorial. Regards, Dorian
  12. Google is your friend (12.5 million hits in 0.33 seconds ... first 5 hits on page one being downloadable).
  13. Add the following to your FS9 .cfg file (under [DISPLAY]) RUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=1.2 RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=1.0 RUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=1.0 RUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR=1.5 Dorian
  14. You could try right clicking the MyTraffic.exe, open Properties, and select to run in Compatibility Mode (usually XP SP2). You have nothing to lose, afterall. Dorian
  15. Last FS9 version of MyTraffic was MyTraffic 2006 v4.1 (see:https://forum.simflight.com/topic/61537-my-traffic-for-fs9/) so, it's not surprising v5 will not install in FS9. Personally, think WoAI has wayyyy better graphics than MT. YMMV, of course. Dorian
  16. I'll have a medium Coke with that popcorn, thank you. Regards, Dorian
  17. Why? An ass is a long-eared, domesticated horse-like beast of burden ... or a stupid, foolish or stubborn person. And that is how it read in your post. The vulgar term is correctly spelt with one "s", an "r" and an "e". And yes, I'm a card-carrying grammarian. :p Regards, Dorian
  18. Gi'day, Yep! Still have it installed; has a great sky texture set for SE Alaskan flying (Arctic Blue). Regards, Dorian
  19. Gi'day, If that's SceneGenX Distribution37, then, yes. Regards, Dorian
  20. Gi'day, v3 must be installed first; v3.5 (considered a free upgrade) reads the registration key from the v3 install. I've also found it's best to keep both versions separate, rather than installing 3.5 on top of v3.
  21. Thanks Joshua, very much appreciated.
  22. Best bet is to send the error log file generated by AI Aircraft Editor back to the author (Martin Gossmann). Could be a bug in the latest update, or, there really is a problem with the data contained in the .air file.
