  1. You were right Jan, I changed them for the default DC-3 props, looks a lot better, thank you. In the texture downloads I got for it some are BMP and some DDS, the ones on this are DDS.
  2. Hi Jan FSX Gold boxed with acceleration on Windows 10. Also I downloaded a few textures for it but they are different to what textures I already have and it says they are the 'int' model. I did a search but couldn't find it, although one site said it was there to download but it seemed a bit dodgy and wanted me to install something else first so I left it.
  3. I forgot I had this aircraft, anyway got it fired up in the sim and as the engines started at first I thought it was good seeing all that smoke coming from them, but it never stopped and to me it spoiled it. So got busy tracking down the problem, a bit of aircraft.cfg tweaking and I cracked it, this is the RAAF version.
  4. I'm puzzled at Jan's comment, he said he loves it very much, but it hasn't got propellers lol. Seriously it does look a nice aircraft.
  5. Another thing to look for if none of the above solve it. I downloaded some ai flight plans and I too got a no show and I had compiled them with AIFP. Then I remembered something I forgot to do, remove the @ symbols from the plan, I always do it as well but I forgot this time.
  6. I have it working now. Not sure what the problem was but I had deleted the one I had been editing and trying various prop textures and downloaded a fresh one, this one works perfect. On a side issue I downloaded an ai ATR 72-200 this morning and did a new paint job on it, went to try it and the props were black squares, my first thought was, "Oh no, not again." Then I checked the texture and the prop texture was missing, I took one from another ATR and it worked, phew!
  7. Hi Rick, I had that file on my HD before I had that big crash, I forgot about that, it did work on a couple of aircraft I had, I will try it again, I deleted the C-47 as well this morning so I'll have to download it again to try lol. Col.
  8. Hi Rick, funny enough I too downloaded that and I still get the black disks, so if they are OK on your system and obviously on others it must be something with my setup. On a side issue nothing to do with props but my system doesn't like 'Project Airbus' aircraft as well, I can't get them to fly so I just ignore them when I see one for download, looks like this one is going to join them lol. Col.
  9. Yes I have already read that one, but no joy. I really appreciate all the help off you guys but it's no big deal, it's only an aircraft and there are plenty more. I have had this before and like I said above, the usual copy and paste from another aircraft has solved it, at first I thought it was built in the model but it can't be seeing as others have not had the problem with it. Thanks again everyone. Col.
  10. Hi Jan, Found it and copied the prop texture, still showing black. Col.
  11. Thanks Rick for your time and effort trying to help. It's on the back burner now for a while lol. Col.
  12. Hi Rick, Yes I saw a thread with a fix, if its the same one it refers to DTXBmp and then selecting MS Paint as the editor. I did that but my MS Paint doesn't seem to have what the instructions say, I am on Windows 10 so maybe they changed it slightly. My normal editor in Paint.net I had a look in that but to be honest I'm not to familiar with editing alpha files. Col.
  13. Yep, I tried that too earlier thinking it was the model. I just tried it with the Howard props but still the black disks.
  14. Hi Jan, It says V3.12 Beta, I'm under the impression it's for FSX the textures are DDS, or am I wrong? Col.
  15. Hi Rick, Thanks I'll have a look, I tried various props that work on other aircraft but for some reason they showed the black disk on this. I've had this before on other aircraft and the copy and paste normally fixes it. Col.
  16. Jan, I have this aircraft but it is showing the the props as black disks, I've tried the copy and paste from other similar aircraft but that is not working. I also tried the tutorial on here of how to edit the alpha, it tells you to use MS Paint as the editor but in Win10 it seems different to the instructions. So how did you get the props to show as they do? Col.
  17. I hate those lights and I too looked to see if there was a fix but as already mentioned they are in the model. I have stated a few times on the forum addressing the matter to all model makers not to use those lights, they look ridiculous and not one bit real, they look like big balloons.
  18. As ronzie says AIFP is a great tool, one tip if you do use it. There is a tick box for FS9 and one for FSX, so make sure you use the right one. Once you get in to it, won't be long before you are doing your own plans lol. Side note: Going back many years I wanted to get my own ai aircraft flying, I had no idea how to do it and it was ronzie above who walked me through it, I remember the day when I got the first one in the air, it was a C-130, after that I never stopped, I became addicted to doing ai. Col.
  19. I remember seeing a thread once on a forum where somebody was making a 400M. I wanted it so bad, I followed the thread for ages waiting for it to be released. In the end I got it, and not long after a few more were released by other authors, one was a payware if I remember rightly. Funny now I hardy ever fire one up.
  20. Not sure if this is of any help or not, forgive me if not lol. I saw a modified Sikorsky S-39 for FSX where the author said he had to change the contact points because the earlier model sank. So it seems you guys are on the right track looking at the points section. The aircraft in question was here: http://www.fsx-downloads.com/aircraft/fsx_sikorskys39_fix.htm
  21. I can remember British airways doing touch and go's at Manchester EGCC when they first got them. Eventually got t work on them from time to time, I must admit they looked majestic somehow when taxing in/out, we sometimes got the RAF flying them in as troop carriers as well. One incident I remember was all these soldiers picking up their kit bags and a lady RAF officer shouting orders at them, telling to them to shape up and get in line etc.
  22. You have my upmost respect, your work is absolutely great. As for the Dan-Air 707, I worked on that a few times.
  23. First class Ted. At first glance I thought it was a DanAir then I looked closer, very similar livery.
  24. Forgive my ignorance on this subject as I've never dabbled in this area when tweaking aircraft. Is it possible to copy points from an amphibian aircraft then tweak the those points, or have you tried that kind of thing, just an idea?
