  1. oh yes Rick, the DC-8 is a beauty. I have it from Just Flight, and am contemplating buying the Aerosoft version. From the looks of those engines in your screenshot, this is a late model with turbofans, which means its not as bad with fuel consumption as you make it out to be. I remember reading an article once on Flying magazine about the HS-125 700 (TFE-731 turbofan engine) saying it burns on economic cruise the same amount of fuel the original RR Viper turbojet engined variant (HS-125 series 100 thru 600) burns on ground idle!
  2. Thank you Gérard and Rick. The great thing is that it is for the stock 737-800 which means it is very easy on the computer resources, and it is very useful because anyone with FSX can use it.
  3. oh I ran a search and saw it is an Alvis Stalwart in an Antarctic service scheme, so no A/C on board. Windows cannot be rolled down either to keep her watertight. Did you enjoy the sauna? :cool: :pilot:
  4. Reminded me of my childhood, I had an Alvis Stalwart truck by Matchbox that looks exactly as the vehicle you used. BP Exploration was written on its side. I remember my dad -who worked in the oil industry after he retired from the army- explaining to me that oil exploration entailed that vehicles go to some rugged terrain that only such a 6x6 amphibian can handle.
  5. Thank you Jan. David if you like ships in the picture, I have buzzed some naval vessels just outside Southampton. Enjoy. Khalid
  6. Thank you David, the repaint is by David Robles, I only took a screen shot.
  7. P-8 Poseidon, a recent repaint for the stock B-737-800 of FSX. File link here https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/fslib.php?searchid=73597007 Enjoy. Khalid
  8. Rick, Colin, David, Jan, Peer, and Bob: thank you all for your lovely words. Best wishes.
  9. Very nice shots Bob, love the warm reddish light prevailing. The Robinson R-22s and R-44s were supposed to be the "affordable" helicopters. I remember when almost every magazine including popular mechanics had an ad about the Benson gyrocopter flown -with hands spread, like how we brag on a bicycle- by a pilot with a full motorcycle helmet. They were selling it as a kit. I've -for some reason- always thought that the Bensen evolved into the R-22, although I'm wrong.
  10. Galland is half French by the way, or his family originated from France. Fun fact for you.
  11. Way to go mate. FS2004 still has its charm on me as well. Khalid
  12. Wow that's super tempting. I will check it out at Christmas if there is a discount, I'm definitely buying it.
  13. Super nice, especially the clouds! Well done. Khalid
  14. Lovely set of screenshots Aharon, and a beautiful Electra. Best wishes. Khalid
  15. A number of classic props that I am hooked to, -click on images to enlarge- The eternal DC-3. My No.1 favourite, the Cat. The C-46 which is fantastic in every way. The contagious crush on the DC-4, following the lead of von Peerhoven. And last but not least, the graceful Stratocruiser. Hope you enjoy. Best wishes. Khalid
  16. Another great set, David. Thank you for sharing. The Beech 350 is a stock model of FSX and is one of the most frequently I use, especially when doing exercises. I love that model.
  17. Very mountainous terrain and very scenic. Glad you tackled these with a dash 7.
  18. Very nice one, Rick. A very interesting plane. Best wishes. Khalid
  19. Cute ship Colin and very nice set of shots. Best wishes. Khalid
  20. Shalom Aharon, another of your high quality posts. Very beautiful. Best wishes. Khalid
  21. Beautiful aircraft and a very nice shot, Gérard. Underpublicised. Some very interesting and very original French models out there that do not receive their due share of publicity and coverage. Best wishes. Khalid
  22. Those repaints that Jankees makes. Just perfect. I am contemplating buying the "Flight Replicas Douglas DC-4" but the price tag is prohibitive and to buy the P3Dv4 version as well, one needs to pay double that price. Lets see if Christmas has a discount coming? Best wishes. Khalid
  23. Salut Gérard, I like the picture, WW2 pilots would say "I stood (my aircraft) on one wing." I read his book "The First and the Last" - there is a French edition "Les premiers et les derniers : Les pilotes de chasse de la deuxième guerre mondiale - de Adolf Galland" a very interesting and enjoyable read. Best wishes. Khalid
