  1. Doesn't look very promising. Not a juniper bush in sight. -- Bob
  2. I'm not much for roo meat but I'll take a tinny of Foster's anytime. Thanks for the compliments. -- Bob (I'm not being sexist, this is just the best Foster's logo I could find. -- Honest!)
  3. I could have sworn there was an airport around here somewhere? More meandering around central Australia. Not an Emu or a Paul Hogan* in sight! *I was going to say Rolf Harris but we won't go there. -- Bob
  4. A th, the a th the, that's all Fokkes! :) A fine restoration. See what some new aluminum siding will do. -- Bob
  5. It has the general lines and proportions of a B-17. Was it a derivative or did most Boeing planes of that time just look similar? -- Bob
  6. A lot of very interesting concepts came out of German aviation during WWII. Necessity may have been the Mother of invention, but Hitler* was its Führer. -- Bob *Actually it was Göring, but that wouldn't be punny.
  7. Nice to see the the old corrugated tin shack in flight again. :) You'll have to forgive Jan for so rudely taking over your post. We encourage him behave but at a certain time of life the mind goes... :( Sad. -- Bob
  8. Nice scorch for an old geezer Jan! :p I couldn't agree more. Who would have thought I'd be happy to see Adam in his Shorts? :o -- Bob
  9. No clue where they were going but a great view of where they'd been. :p You do find interesting nuggets of aviation among the tailings of history. :) -- Bob
  10. Hah! That should get a rise out of him. -- Bob
  11. Great shots of a great bird. As usual. :D But tell me, how do you get it to float a few inches above the ground? That trick would greatly extend the tire life of all my planes.  -- Bob
  12. Thanks for the kind suggestion but it's already registered as C-IYAA. The C is obviously Canada, the I is mandatory for ultralights. The YAA not only completes the joke (see ya!) but is an omage to the first plane I trained on, an ICP Savannah registered as C-ITAA. Here pictured as one of my repaints for Massimo Taccoli's FS2004 Savannah. -- Bob Also, I can't use C-PEER until we fit her out with floats, for obvious reasons.
  13. Not STOL but a tough bush plane for sure. -- Bob
  14. She's ready to fly. We await Transport Canada's blessing in the form of registration. -- Bob
  15. Somewhere over Western Australia. Just give me a stout broomstick and a yaw string to sail her by. Desolate landscape with nary house nor lake in sight. This actually reminds me of an old Burns & Schreiber bit: In the beginning there was nuthin', see? Then God said, "Let there be light!" Now there was still nuthin', only yuz could see it. But I digress... On with the pictures. And, oh, by the way. To paraphrase Doc Brown: "Airports? Where we're going we don't need no airports." -- Bob
  16. Now this is the AVIATION way to trim shrubs! -- Bob
  17. You must be bushed after all that effort. Next time just go for the Brazilian wax. ;) Still, you got some cool pics out of it! As far as a title… we'll call you "Sir Drinksalot". :p -- Bob
  18. Good choice! Amongst the Trees & Houses usually leads to a bad day and expensive noises. Beautiful shots of a beautiful aircraft. :) -- Bob
  19. You can probably sell them to Adam. Based on what he normally flies they would be a step up. After all they seem to have all their doors and important parts. :) -- Bob
  20. I'll try but you might have to give up some of your toy trains. :( -- Bob
  21. Hanging by a strap behind the plane was quite a challenge but you know I'd do anything for you guys. -- Bob
  22. Checking out the latest version of the land down under. (and updated autogen textures) An early morning flight, Yarram to Phillip Island in the ever funky Cessna Skymaster. -- Bob
  23. Thanks, but I must warn you I'm happily married. OK, that just got weird. -- Bob
  24. Wow! What a great set of shots. But I noticed something in that last one...? Guess wherever there are big-nosed aircraft a certain Dutchman must follow. :) -- Bob
