  1. Spectacular shots and scenery! :cool::cool::cool:
  2. Another outstanding series of shots! Well done.
  3. Me too Darren - it's one of my favorites.
  4. In this series a Canadian Forces CP-140 "Aurora" takes off from runway 30 at CFB Greenwood (CYZX) in Nova Scotia for a maritime surveillance patrol in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Our mission is to check out shipping traffic and see generally what's going on in this important waterway. Here are a couple of maps to help orient us for the mission. The arrow on the first map points to our home base location at CFB Greenwood close to the NW coast of Nova Scotia. The second map is our general area of operations in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Taxiing onto and lining up for takeoff on CYZX runway 30. Airborne and climbing out Turning on course for the Gulf and climbing up for the short cruise segment to our op area. The distinctive "fishhook" entrance to the Minas Channel and Basin area are visible in the distance in the second shot. Compare this FS2020 scenery view to the Nova Scotia map in the first shot.
  5. Thanks for reminding me of the Reeve mishap. The crew did a fantastic job of getting the airplane back on the ground. Interestingly there were several similar incidents involving Navy P3 aircraft - which have engines almost identical to the Electra. The Reeve aircraft case involved the #4 (right outboard engine). I believe the P3 incidents involved the #2 (left inboard) engine. In the Reeve situation the prop that separated was furthest from the aircraft. In the P3 cases the engine and prop were right next to the fuselage and manned crew positions unfortunately resulting in some fatalities although the aircraft were able to land safely.
  6. Very nice video showcasing the FS2020 clouds and scenery and good job on getting the airplane on the ground :cool: although in the RW think this would have been a go around! :eek:
  7. Thanks Aharon - it's hard to take a bad shot of an Electra! :D
  8. You mean these guys? :D I was on a National Airlines Electra with a similar "up and down" east coast itinerary. Left Washington National in DC and stopped in Norfolk, Charleston, Savannah, Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Pensacola, Mobile, and ended in New Orleans. I got off in Pensacola.
  9. For some additional views of the plane check out the video on the Video forum or here on YouTube:
  10. Here's a video showcasing the Lockheed P3C Navy patrol plane in FS2020. The plane is an FSX model converted over to FS2020. The cockpit and gauges don't convert over (or if they do I haven't figured out how to do them) so this is all external views. Until I can upgrade FS2020 is running on my 5 year old laptop so the framerates here are marginal but good enough to give an idea of FS2020s potential. The plane is taking off from Lajes Air Base (LPLA) in the Azores Islands and heading west on a patrol. Lajes is on the island of Terceira and there are some good views of that island as the plane climbs away towards the neighboring islands of San Jorge, Pico (with a tall volcano peak on it) and Graciosa and then the open Atlantic. This is a flight I've made in the RW and an island view I've seen many times looking back over the #1 and #2 engines leaving Lajes. This is 99% the way it looks in the RW - when VR shows up it will be 99.9%!!!
  11. Here's a quick shot of a Navy Lockheed P-3C "Orion" patrol plane of Patrol Squadron 11 (VP-11) based in Brunswick, Maine. The airplane is departing Lajes Air Base (LPLA) in the Azores Islands and climbing out to the West for a mid Atlantic patrol. The plane is in the 1970s to 90s white over gray paint scheme common on P-3s before the Navy went to all low visibility gray in the early 2000's. So this shot would be from that earlier time. This is the Team FS KBT P-3C for FSX converted over to FS2020. More P-3 action to come!
  12. An interesting series. Southern India has mountains? Who knew?? I thought they were all up by the Himalayas!:D
  13. Thanks for looking David, Larry, & Mr. Z!
  14. Nice ones David. :cool::cool: I like the CRJ. Looking forward to the Aerosoft FS2020 version.
  15. Here are some shots of a Pacific Southwest Airlines (PSA) Lockheed L188 "Electra" landing on Runway 27 at San Diego International Airport (KSAN). This steep approach is famous for flying close to the high rise buildings of downtown San Diego and low over the rooftops of neighborhoods and the traffic on Interstate 5 just off the approach end of the runway. The airplane has the smiley face nose paint scheme that went along with PSA's "Catch Our Smile" ad slogan of the 70s and 80s.
  16. Absolutely spectacular!! :cool::cool::cool:
  17. Larry, James & Jason - thanks for looking. The 727 is one of my favorites too. Hoping somebody is going to come out with a native FS2020 version.
  18. Here are some shots of a UPS B727-100F ready for takeoff from runway 28R at San Francisco International Airport (KSFO). UPS retired all of their 727s back in 2007 so this would have been a while ago. With current online holiday shopping at record levels because of Covid they may want to call them back!! :D:D
  19. In this series a Boeing B17G, nicknamed "Joker", takes off, climbs out, and circles back over Wright Army Airfield (KLHW) in Georgia. The airplane is in a typical U.S. Army Air Force World War II olive drab paint scheme. This is an FSX model converted to FS2020.
