  1. An A320 crew taxis to the gate past the famous "Fly Delta Jets" sign at Atlanta International Airport (KATL) on a rainy day.
  2. Here are some quick shots of the new FS2020 Aerosoft CRJ landing at Orlando (KMCO). Been waiting for this one! [click on the shots to scroll full screen views]
  3. Another outstanding set of shots. The weather effects and scenery really capture FS2020s stunning graphics! Well done Adam!:cool::cool:
  4. Very nice composition on all shots Chris. On just a very subjective personal level the sky colors are a little too light for my eye and the texture on the last shot is a little too granular - again for my eye. Beauty is - of course - 100% in the eye of the beholder - so what looks good to me may come across entirely differently for someone else. Bottom line - they're all good shots!!!

  6. Thanks for looking guys and all the good words. A correction: contrails do appear at lower altitudes than FL300 - flew a couple of test flights today with contrails first showing up at 16,000 and 19,000.
  7. Here are some quick shots of the new contrails added to FS2020 with the latest update. Contrails were missing from the original and previous release versions. These don't kick in until you're at or above FL300. Contrails are still missing for AI traffic. [click on the shots to scroll through full screen views]
  8. Absolutely outstanding Adam! Especially like last 2 shots :cool::cool:
  9. Descending to pattern altitude and established on the downwind for PAIL Runway 8. In the distance on the left side of the airplane in the downwind shot you can see Iliamna Lake which is the largest lake in Alaska and the third largest lake in the United States. Local lore has it that there's a "Loch Ness" style monster in the lake and several sightings have been reported. Turning base, final, and on final Back taxiing to the turnoff on the snow covered runway
  10. A Bering Air Cessna C208 EX flies over the rugged and snow covered deep winter landscape of southwestern Alaska to the fishing village of Iliamna. Brrrrrrrr. [click on the shots to scroll through full screen views] Climbing out of Anchorage we can see large areas of winter pack ice and ice flows along the shores of Cook Inlet. Our G1000 display shows our fight plan as we approach the high terrain of the Alaska Mountain Range on the west shore of Cook Inlet. Visible ahead are two tall stratovolcano peaks that we'll be passing in between- "Redoubt" is nearest to us on the right and "Iliamna" is in the distance on the left. Redoubt is an active volcano that last erupted in 2009. At the midway point on our route there are mountain peaks in all directions. This would not be a good spot for an engine failure!! Two large glaciers descending down mountain valleys are visible on the left side of the aircraft. Our Bering Air flight crew enjoys the view of the magnificent mountain scenery while the G1000 does the nav. After years of looking at empty sim cockpits I think the FS2020 option to add realistic looking crew avatars to your aircraft is a great step forward in immersion. No more empty seats with ghost pilots! Passing over the last mountain ridge we begin our descent into PAIL. The airport is in sight at the 11:30 position. We'll plan a visual approach to Runway 8. Thanks for looking! See the arrival in Part 2.
  11. Thanks Larry & Adam - and a tip of the Captain's hat Larry. We may be in for a long stay on Pico! :D TAP flies there but I don't think its in A320s.
  12. In this series a TAP Air Portugal A320 is landing at Aeroporto do Pico (LPPI) on the Island of Pico in the scenic and beautiful Azores Islands in the east central Atlantic Ocean. Pico is famous for its cone shaped volcanic peak - "Ponte do Pico" - rising 7750 feet above the rest of the island. Although Pico is 1000 miles from mainland Portugal out in the Atlantic Ocean because the Azores are a part of Portugal Ponte do Pico is listed as the highest mountain in Portugal. [click on the shots to scroll through full size screen views] On approach to Runway 27 at LPPI with the mountain to our left and the neighboring island of Faial visible in the distance ahead. Lined up on the runway. At 5725 feet Runway 27 is relatively short but well within the 4500 foot distance our A320 needs to land. [Extra bonus tip of the Captains' hat to whoever can say what question we should be asking after reading these facts :D] Final, touch down, and rollout with spoilers and reversers. Welcome to Pico!
  13. Excellent series and great narrative and shot composition Chris.:cool::cool: I've been thru DFW on many RW trips on American and your shots are spot on.
  14. Nice shots Chris. I'm enjoying the tour of Italy!
  15. Great shot of the "Conch Republic":cool:
  16. A picture perfect shot! :cool::cool:
  17. Beyond awesome shots Adam! Perfectly captures the look and feel of a tropical rain shower in the Keys and shows off the fantastic high def realism of FS2020. Wow!! Simply wow!! cool::cool::cool:
  18. Great stuff David.:cool::cool: Love the A300 and the PanAm livery. Is that the Tom Ruth A300?
  19. Those were the days Bob! John, Adam, Bob & David - many thanks for looking and the kind words.
  20. A spectacular series of super realistic shots. The sky and Delta livery are just amazing. Well done Adam!!:cool::cool:
  21. WHEN POST EDITS GO BAD!!! ACCIDENTAL DUPLICATE POST :o "K-K-K-K-K-K-Katmandu I think that's where I'm going to If I ever get out of here I'm going to Katmandu" - Bob Seger song lyrics, 1975 A Cessna C208 Grand Caravan EX of Nepalese carrier Tara Air lands at Tribhuvan International Airport (VNKT) in Kathmandu, Nepal. Unfortunately a bank of towering cumulus clouds and rain showers hides our panoramic view of the snow capped Himalayas and famous peaks K2 and Mount Everest which would ordinarily be visible in the far distance beyond the green foothills off the end of the runway. 23. Nice shot of this PI landmark Chris. As Jimmy Buffet would say: "I don't know; I don't know; I don't know where I'm a gonna go when the volcano blows!" :D:D:D
  24. Thanks John and Larry It is cold! I've been RW to Bodo Norway in the summer which is still above the arctic circle but south of Andoya and it was "right chilly." I can imagine what it must be like now in late winter!!
