  1. I looked up the latest FSX updated model files listed at TDS Facebook... 737-800 FSX_TDS738_CFM56-7BE--LP2W3_IH53.zip FSX_TDS738_CFM56-7BE--LP2W2_IH53.zip 737-900 FSX_TDS739ER_CFM56-7BE--LP2W3_IH56.zip FSX_TDS739ER_CFM56-7BE--LP2W2_IH56.zip Just don't get the MAX 7,8, or 9 for the standard 737's or vice versa For a beginner, you should pick a base package from the FlightSim library and install it. You will find there is no Virtual Cockpit. To get one, look up 737 VC merge and you will find instructions in the FlightSim Forum to use the default FSX 737 VC. Then you will find some of the lights don't work. That's when you get the above mentioned FSX update models to fix it. Or just BUY a ready to fly PMDG 737NGX -800/900 for $69.99 :)
  2. A aircraft folder would have following subfolders... Model Panel Sound Texture When you get a updated model file (file ends in .mdl), you would simply replace it in the Model folder above. All there is to it.
  3. The FSX model update files (example IH50) are necessary to get the lights working correctly. I have not seen them anywhere except TDS Bookface. You don't have to join the TDS page, just open a account with Bookface with minimal information, get the files then close the account again. I saved all the files but don't have the rights to upload them or I would.
  4. This says the C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files (x86) is supposed to be blocked from editing to thwart malware from writing to the files within. So I guess those who don't have to edit as administrator are probably more prone to viral attacks... https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-security/access-denied-on-editing-file-under-cprogram-files/a3f86105-225c-4ce3-ad73-6e0394184aa7
  5. I installed my FSX on my D:\ drive. However when ever I edit a .txt or .cfg file inside the C:\Program Files, just have to remember to open Notepad as Administrator first.
  6. This one should do, it covers all the Max 8 models... FSX_TDSX738MAX_TO_2015ROLLOUTMODEL_IH50.zip The IH50 is the version number.
  7. Reskins, AKA Repaints, AKA Liveries CAN EFFECT your memory. I have a QualityWings 787 and I installed a livery that had a total folder size of 401gb! The author was describing it as a 32bit, 4K masterpiece. I kept running out of memory (OOM) every time I loaded that particular livery. Most of the other's were about 1/4 the size. I ran his textures through DXTbmp and converted/reduced them in size and it no longer causes my FSX Gold Edition to OOM.
  8. THANKS Rob, I hated the way the default had to roll forward to lift-off. Your gauge is a complete make over.
  9. As I mentioned in my first post, updating the model files from TDS 737 Facebook fixes all the light issues. As well as the 787's. Its not as if payware aircraft never need updates. Navigation Lights? Check Beacon Lights? Check Strobe Lights? Check Taxi Lights? Check Landing Lights? Check Cabin Lights? Check Logo Lights? Check Clear for take off!
  10. Sounds like you edited the contact point instead of the eyepoint. I will try giving you some visuals on installation... TDS Main folder 1. In the two Model folders, edit both model.cfg's to include interior=..\..\B737_800\model\B737_800_interior as shown... 2. Edit the [Views] section of the aircraft.cfg as shown... 3. Edit or add a texture.cfg to EACH of the livery folders (and any future liveries) as follows... NOTE: I use a special texture folder that has common textures for ALL the TDS 737 models and my texture.cfg is slightly different from the one shown, however this one should work for you. 4. Copy the FSX B737_800 Panel contents to the TDS Panel folder as follows... 5. Copy and paste the following Panel.cfg to the TDS Panel folder. This will make sure all the TDS utilities work... // Panel Configuration file // Boeing 737-800 // Copyright © 1999-2003 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. SIZE_Y=3600 Day=255,255,255 Night=255,255,255 I have all my TDS 737 models using the FSX 737_800 VC so hope this helps.
  11. To use the FSX 737 VC see this thread... https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?282539-How-to-merge-the-Microsoft-default-Boeing-737-800-VC-with-the-TDS-MAX7-and-MAX8!&highlight=tds+737+merge The sound needs to be directed to the FSX 737 also in the sound.cfg in the Sound folder. Be sure to get model updates from TDS @ Facebook to fix issues with lights etc.
  12. S/N does not match on each vertical stab L=240837, R=240387 Can you fix it?
  13. Whenever I install anything it's only necessary to specifiy just the FSX root directory (ie: D:\Flight Simulator X - Gold Edition) or what ever you path is. So far everything installed did not need any specified subfolders in the install path. Yes, even with a unregistered version it should be in the 'Addons' If you have a 'DX10 Preview' selection box I think is one way to confirm SP2.
  14. I bought the QualityWings B787 and am very happy with it and attempted to merge the VC to my existing fleet of TDS B787's. QW does not have a B787-10 yet and I have a few cherished liveries not available on the QW. Did all the usual things to merge. 1. Copied the QW VC model into the TDS Model folder and edited the Model.cfg 2. Copied the QW panel contents into the TDS Panel folder and edited the Panel.cfg 3. Copied the Texture.VC from the QW folder into the TDS folder and pointed the Texture.cfg's to it. 4. Copied the QW Aircraft.cfg [Views] eyepoint to the TDS Aircraft.cfg Results were as expected, the cockpit merged OK to the TDS except the QW glass cockpit says... ERR:Startup Error:!! Unable to start QW787-6 Anybody successfully do this with the gauges initializing OK?
  15. Could you please re-upload liveries in .zip format so I don't have to get a .rar un-packer.
  16. Yes it was. Get Steve's DX10 Fixer (either payware or freeware will do) and the Progressive Taxi works fine in DX10 preview mode.
  17. You guys did install fdsfxpnl.zip first right? This is an add-on for it.
  18. You forgot to paint the wing texture pink (it's white) viewable from inside the VC.
  19. Looks SWEET!!! I LIKE IT! Looks as close as you can get to the movie with the existing model! Even the actress was wearing a red helmet and parka. Too bad somebody can't make a new model with a head a tail and a geese flock in tow :) THANK YOU, Jack
  20. Thanks Daniman757, The movie shows the same texture on the top and bottom of the wing. Also the body (and wheel fairings) of the Ultralight looks like the color towards the front of the image. Jack
  21. I had the same issue with lights on ALL the TDS 787 -8, -9, -10 models. Went to TDS on Facebook and downloaded/installed the FSX model updates and ALL the lights work PEACHY NOW. I suspect the same is true for the 737's. WHY? Because I also have the 737 -6, -7, -8, -9, MAX 7, MAX 8, MAX 9 and updated the models and ALL OF THE LIGHTS WORK ON THOSE TOO. https://www.facebook.com/groups/TDS.SkySpirit.B737NG/files/ The catch is you have to have a account with Facebook to be able to download the files, but you don't need to join the TDS group
  22. Greetings, Seen the Movie "Fly Away Home"? Here is a perfect overhead shot of the "mother goose" Ultralight... It looks like for somebody with a decent paint program they could easily add the above image to the default FSX AirCreation 582SL white wing texture. All I have is MS Paint :( I understand the UltraLight in the movie is actually a Cosmos however the A/C 582SL is close enough. Would not be able to recreate the goose head or tail either because the A/C 582SL doesn't have provisions for it on the FSX model. Thanks, Jack
  23. Thanks for the excellent livery. Got it to work with the FS9 C90B version using DXTBMP
