  1. Hi. As I recall the date had to be set, try Sim date 12/25?
  2. Hi. Remember THIS IS A SIM and not something that you should apply to Real life. The fact that you are having difficulty with the sim is Not and indicator that you cannot fly in Real life. YOU CAN DO IT. Things to remember, Settings No Wind, No Gusts, No Thermals, When you set up your Jstick, in addition to use the settings I mentioned before try to move your stick just slightly, in the last step, after it asks you to leave centered, to give you a wider dead / null zone, you may get a message about it, just ignore it. On the approach on glide path, use an airport that has the lights, PAPI VASi.. get set up for about 1500 RPM at 65 KIAS, full flaps with a descent rate of about 300 FPM and Wait until you get very close to surface than just pull the nose / pitch the top of cowl to just the end of the runway, reduce power to Idle, basically level and Wait on the center line just control it with the Rudder, HEELS on the floor, just have your toes on the bottom of the pedals, very very lightly and Wait.... let the plane slow down by itself, No Brakes if you run out of runway you need to adjust your settings next time, the plane should slow down / stop by itself before the end of a 4-5000 Ft runway and only when it's at 0 Zero indicate airspeed move your feet up and use the Rudder / Brakes. Post a pic of the your inside the cockpit view of the acft. I hope you are using something like a C172, you should be able to just see the top of cowl. Trust me it's not Rocket since but you have to be patient the sim takes a lot longer than real life acft to respond and settle to a proper state, by about a factor of 3. Be patient, if you get uncomfortable with where you are put on pause P and make sure you are properly set up. You can Save a .sit where you are about 10 SM and practice that multiple times, to have enough time to get set up and Remember the numbers and get stabilized, using the RPM>VSI>Glide path.
  3. Hi. Really! I hope I never have to fly in your sky. If you cannot outsmart and control an airplane / autopilot you have no business flying in Rea World. You may be OK in the sim.
  4. Hi. Try https://www.ebay.com/itm/Microsoft-Flight-Simulator-X-Gold-Edition-PC-Windows-2008-With-Case/114489455361?epid=70434343&hash=item1aa81a7301:g:vNYAAOSw0GJfmzxU I am of the same opinion. I have an unopened Gold box that looks like it may sell for more than it's weight in Gold? With the Assobo20 fiasco FSX will be around a loooong time. Good luck.
  5. Hi John. Another one of those "smart" choices from LR, to be more realistic they force you to use the red button on the Yoke, or in some you can force / pull/push on the controls, use trim.. to disengage. They also have Weapons but no AP as that is more realistic? Sometimes I wonder about these guys. That is one of the things about the Assobo20 they did such a miserable job nobody from now on have to make any improvements, they practically killed Flight simulators it will no longer advance. It depends on the acft you fly but for the C172 you can try to assign a button to "toggle servos" and see if it works.
  6. Hi. More information is needed on CPU, OS, Mobo, BIOS.. for better help but I do not think that your CPU will have an issue, make sure you monitor it for an while and use the Utilities that came with your Mobo to set parameters. It is likely that your Video may be stressed and you should monitor that but given the settings you have available I would use then 1080P, I use 4k on an i7 8700 @4.7 with Nvidia GTX 1080, 1070 with no problems. FSX is not very hard on the hardware when compared to Assobo20, XP11...

  8. Here is some additional info to get you started. http://holdmybeer.at/thepub/#a1 https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/184787-holdmybeer-cirrus-sr22t-g6/&page=13 Quick, in the dark, startig procedure. Starting SR22T G6. After getting some questions about this acft, on how to start it, and I did not have it, I decided to download it and see how to do it. After spending over an hour of trying to get it started, and had some choice words for the designers, in multiple languages to make sure they get, I know the acft got it because it turned red, maybe with a little help from Photoshop. I could not find the key, or any indication of where it was in documentation. Back on the WWW found a reference to it and after clicking all over the creation in the complete darkness I finally found it. It looks like I am not the only one that had problems with it and I decided to write this procedure, in the hope that it helps others. In some cases in ver 1150 / Vulkan, if you can use 1141, where you have a brighter cockpit, it may be completely dark inside the cockpit, just follow the text, blindly, to get started. This is Not the proper procedure / sequence for Real life / proper start but the easiest way to get this acft started with minimum frustration. 1-Get Key in the ignition, Scroll down (down View or Right Click and hold) as far as you can and Click in the middle, console should open and the key is way in the back (red dot), click on it, it will place it in the ignition, click on the cover again to close console. 2-Remove all covers, blocks... Scroll about half way up and Click on the Tablet, Balance Icon and Click on all the Green active areas to remove all. If you miss any it will Not start. You may want Settings > Both tanks also? Make sure at least one tank, Left, is selected and Nosewheel Steering. 3-Mixture Rich, scroll just below the instrument panel and Click on Mixture and Throttle to full forward. 4-Ennable Battery and Generators, Avionics, Strobe, Click on the 7 switches from the left. 5-Enable Fuel pump, 2nd switch from the right, it will start without it also. 6-Ignition Start, click 3 times on the switch and then hold for start, throttle should be full forward for best results. See pic with arrows below how to set the switches, part of Center Console, Power, Mixture... Was it worth the effort? At first I was not impressed but after I made some mods to Paint, way too gloomy for my taste, Glass, .acf it turned out fairly well. It has a pleasant, somewhat realistic flight dynamics behavior, you can actually fly it with the ruder only just like the real thing, and if you can put up with all the shenanigans of starting it may be worth the effort. Open the Weight’n Balance App on your tablet. Remove all outside elements (Tiedowns, Covers, Chocks,...) 2. Set your desired fuel and payload. Take care of the CG. 3. Remove the CAPS cover right above your head and pull the “ Remove-Before-Flight ” pin. 4. Open the Energy App on your Tablet and make sure the batteries are full. If needed, recharge them. 5. Make sure all Circuit Breakers are pushed in (we want no red) 6. Turn on Bat 1 , Bat 2 and the Avionics 7. Enter a flightplan or use the CoreFlight App on your Tablet to send a flightplan via bluetooth to your G1000. 8. Are you in Icing-Conditions? If yes, open the Maintenance-App on your tablet and select Ground-De-Ice. 9. Strobes and Nav-Lights on 10. Turn on the Fuel Boost Pump 11. Mixture Lever full forward 12. Throttle full forward 13. Fuel Pump Boost 14. Throttle ¼ inch open 15. Turn the Starter key to Ignition 16. Pull back the throttle to 1000 RPM and lean the engine. 17. Turn on Alternator 1 and 2 18. Turn on Pitot heat if required
  9. Hi. Do a search for Hold my beer SR22, if you have good system that is one of the best singles for XP.
  10. Hi. I would keep a version of the 11.41, it's better than 11.50 at texture rendering, try it in a dark shady place during Sunset like steep mountain peak. Just make a copy of into a XP1150 directory and overwrite the 11.50. Yes you can update from 11.41 which is no longer the default / final. If it is not presented to you Check mark the option Beta.
  11. Hi. I am curious about that quote? I use Ortho that I generated myself and the Forkboys' CA and I do not know why the need for >>easy installation I am the low flyer and I posted some pics that show different lighting at different time of day with different objects density. I find that Extended CA light and fewer Objects, medium in my case works better and it's much easier for me to recognize ground references with fewer objects from Real wold flight. You can get more inf about altitude and time of day by looking at the lower left data on the screen. All in all a lot of fun.
  12. Hi. A friend of mine has this: https://www.newegg.com/abs-ali437/p/N82E16883360016?&quicklink=true and he has a difficult time running Assobo20 in 4K, broken / distorted buildings, very low Level of detail, building popping up within a couple of miles of your locations like mushrooms... He also added a 1TB SSD and a 3TB 7200 mechanical and he has much of the 3TB and part of others more than half full with the Assobo, Xplane and FSX / P3d. I have an i7 rest very similar to above and I have most of my storage used up with just MSFSX, XPlane and a couple of other sims, very low storage need for those. Specs below they have some discount running now: Intel Core i9 10900KF 3.70GHz (5.30GHz Turbo Boost), 10-Core 20-Thread ASUS ROG STRIX NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti 11GB, White ASUS ROG STRIX Helios GX601 White Edition RGB Mid-Tower ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XII FORMULA Z490, WiFi 6 ASUS ROG RYUJIN RGB AIO Liquid CPU Cooler 360mm G.Skill TridentZ RGB 32GB DDR4 3600MHz Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD Windows 10 Home 64-bit VR Ready
  13. Hi. I am sure you already know but you can adjust your View / VC, using Ctr+Enter and BackSpace and Shift+Enter and BackSpace and or = - to adjust views and Save it a flight that will maintain those settings. There is a also a configuration change to cameras you can make the .flt to make those permanent.
  14. Hi. Too bad, no 4K, it must be your Monitor, your system is very capable and 4K is an incredible improvement in visuals. About your 2D see this thread https://www.rikoooo.com/board?view=topic&catid=5&id=722 that plane has No 2D >>This is because there is no 2D panel. Only virtual cockpit. Please read description page for more information Unless you have a good reason to use 2D I would really suggest that you use the VC only. I haven't used 2D since the VC was implemented and I only use it in special circumstances / needs.
  15. Hi. Look at this posthttps://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?325351-Is-It-CH-Rudder-Peddles-Or-Me/page2 and see if these settings help RIGHT TURN TEND CORRECT P acf/_ailn_tab 0.004550000 //for rc1 .0040 for RC2 .00355 P acf/_rudd_tab 0.004000000 // .002 was 005 This is for Right Turn tendency fix you may want to try a small change in values and test it at full RPM at 1000 ft MSL over ocean if possible, and make sure you wait for it to stabilize, should be around 2730, 130 Kts for the C172SP G1K. Larger numbers will try to adjust to fly more to the left. It's a know problem in the XPlane in the light GAs You can also use Planemaker to make this change, or just use a text editor and change the values in the .acf file.
  16. Hi. I am now understanding your problem but It may not be as simple as just Pasting the 2D panel in the other model. You have to find out if the Rikooo 787 has the capability of using 2D and typically you must have an .mdl that is capable of accepting it. Maybe others that have that Make / Model can help. About 4K all you have to do is try follow this procedure Alt key>Options>Settings>Display>try 4096x and see what it looks like. I would start with C172 in VC mode first, you can always go back to 1920 if you do not want to use 4K. The problem with 4K is that the Text is very small and difficult to read but the display, gauges...are very sharp. Your system should be able to handle that.
  17. Hi. What resolution are you using? Try 1920 or you can actually go 4K with that system. Did you select more than one Monitor? Make sure you only have one and only One window use [] keys to confirm. It may be that your Sync is off? What monitor and what freq, and resolution is it? Alt>Options>Settings>Display>try 4096x or 1920...
  18. Hi. Before you go other ways, did you add anything new in your sims / pc? Do you know if any other controller / jstick is installed in your system? Did you try to see if Win 10 sees your device, and can you Calibrate there? Ctrl Panel>Hardware,,>Devices>CyborgX>RightClick PropertiesCyborgXProperties and Test?
  19. Hi. I have that Jstk working fine in the FSX Gold but I do not need / use any driers. Did you try to Calibrate it in Windows first? What Combination, OS PC.. do you have?
  20. Yes, you are correct, it can be as simple as that. There is also an installer X-Plane 11 Installer.exe that you may already have, if not you can download it, and use that. I do not know what version you have presently but I keep at least 4 versions, 11.20, 11.41, 11.r1 and the latest 11.50r3 or the actual release. The are reasons for that but if you have 11.41 you may want keep it because it has much better texture rendering and in many cases it performs better, with lower settings, in VR. If the storage space is a problem, see below, for you you can retain only the Main directory and the Aircraft> Laminar>C172.. and your Custom Scenery, Scenery_Pack.ini file itself if you decide to use it later again, you can add the rest of the files to it later. Try this for minimum start for new install. Just copy these files, from you old install, into a new XPlane Directory and run Install. d----- 8/29/2020 2:37 PM Aircraft >>>>Only C172 needed d----- 8/29/2020 2:29 PM Airfoils >>>Keep all d----- 8/29/2020 2:29 PM Custom Data >>>Keep all d----- 8/29/2020 2:35 PM Custom Scenery >>> Can be empty or add Global Airports d----- 8/29/2020 2:36 PM Global Scenery >>> X-Plane 11 Demo Areas d----- 8/29/2020 2:31 PM GPUCache >>>Keep all d----- 8/29/2020 2:31 PM Instructions >>>Keep all d----- 8/29/2020 2:31 PM joystick configs >>>Keep all d----- 8/29/2020 2:32 PM keyboard presets >>>Keep all d----- 8/29/2020 2:32 PM manipulators >>>Keep all d----- 8/29/2020 2:33 PM map data >>>Keep all d----- 8/29/2020 2:33 PM Output >>>Keep all d----- 8/29/2020 2:33 PM Resources >>>Keep all d----- 8/29/2020 2:34 PM Weapons >>>Can be empty -a---- 8/27/2020 6:41 PM 6022592 Airfoil Maker.exe -a---- 8/28/2020 10:04 PM 28512 Cycle Dump.txt -a---- 8/28/2020 10:02 PM 0 Data.txt -a---- 2/23/2020 9:48 PM 52360 FlyWithLua_Debug.txt -a---- 8/28/2020 10:04 PM 100106 Log.txt -a---- 8/27/2020 6:41 PM 8584128 Plane Maker.exe -a---- 8/29/2020 2:15 PM 33171456 X-Plane 11 Installer.exe -a---- 8/27/2020 6:41 PM 28291520 X-Plane.exe
  21. Hi Casey. I think that if you can run FSX in 4K you can get just as good a visuals as in XPlane or even Assobo, if you can add Ortho you will never miss any of them, at least I don't.
  22. Hi. I've been around sims from the time before PC existed and I've been Real world flying for over 40 years and I can tell you that if the C172 would be as difficult to use like in some the sim, not many people would be flying them today. You just have plan and think way ahead in the sims because it takes a long time to properly respond / stabilize with the end result, to the user, being over correction. Get your numbers down Level at certain speeds, Around the Pattern, Down 500.. and be patient, set your power and wait for the software to catch up with you. The thing to keep in mind is Pitch + Power= Performance if either one changes it affects the others, KNOW your numbers and Be patient. The Ground handling in XP even without Xwind is very difficult the trick is to use the rudders at very low speed and if you use brakes you Must apply them at exactly the same time or you will likely end up in the ditch. I can tell you that the C172 in Real World is one of the easiest to fly and most forgiving plane in existence. None of the sims are very good at representing it in the sims. The best ground handling is the MSFSX, P3D, even the new Assobo has very poor response to control input, probably the worst of the bunch. Don't spent time with re calibration, unless you have a device that is very unstable it will not change. the CH Brakes are basically handled as switches, you apply them and they are fully on. There is a change you can make in the C172... .acf file, see below, to make the brakes less forceful but it takes longer to stop. Rudder on the ground adjust P acf/_brake_co 1.0 P acf/_no_hydro_force_mult_brakes 1.0 P acf/_brake_to_steer_power 2.0 try 1.0 There only only a couple things that help, patience, and know your numbers.
  23. Hi Mina. I forgot to say but the information above, about the cockpit view, is based on 4K resolution. I use MSFSX and XPlane in 4K only
  24. Hi. I was going to do that but there are a lot of folks around here that lack the sense of humor. Here is what the full name / description may work? "AssoboXXX, CFI's permission required before use, to minimize / prevent the unlearning process" Use MSFSX or XPlane instead. Be gone flying for the next couple of hours, would be interesting to see the replies?
  25. I think that anything MS in the name is an insult to MSFSX or any other MS product. Plain AssoboXX is the best name in my opinion. Let's put it up for a vote.
