  1. no all live stuff is off weather, time, ect. yes it drops down to single digits and its not even from change of scenery it will do it at like when i fly to cali from ny i set it at 50,000 feet so really its smooth runs at like 110fps up there then like 3 hours in it just starts freaking out..

Not sure if this will help- https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/a-workaround-for-fps-drop-after-a-long-flight/437116

  2. So using an airforce jet at 1200mph over new york city every option possible turned up to the max!! i am doing 59 fps is that good?

The standard (least from what I've seen on You Tube, is 30 FPS (or better). Some people are locked in at 30 FPS and have a blast flying! Others try to get every extra frame they can. From my perspective, FPS fluctuates like the stock market, it can go up and down like crazy, just depends on where exactly I am flying and what else is going on.

I've been flying in NYC and getting 50-60 FPS, but then I will fly over a crowded section of the city and have it drop to 31 FPS. I am still going very smooth and if I did not have the FPS counter going, I would not have noticed.

It honestly depends on what you are looking to get out of the sim. :)

  3. In the 172, steam gauge version there are 2 dimmers just to the left of the throttle, you may have to hide the yoke to see them depending on your set viewpoint.

Yep, been using them. Prior to the latest patch, they were always set to their lowest settings, however now, they are at their highest. Looking for a way inside one of the config files to lower the setting, thus far, nothing :(

  4. Depending on the plane, clicking ALT + L will add some extra lighting on the panel.

The ALT + L is what is called "Flashlight" in the MSFS2020 keyboard assignments.

I wish every plane had a good adjustable panel light dial. Most of my flying is in bush planes in cloudy weather. without good panel lighting, it is sometimes impossible to see the instruments.

That is a good keystroke to use. My problem is though, the sim starts out TOO bright, lol, I have to spend a couple of minutes adjusting the lightning to a lower setting. For some reason, the glareshield is on FULL and the flood lights in the ceiling of the 172 are always on upon startup. I would like them both turned down and/or off upon startup. This occurs even in full daylight. At night, it is very overwhelming

  5. Interesting problem (which perhaps I caused, lol)

My world map is stuck on the Weather icon look. I like the satellite view. Does not really affect how I set up my flights, I just would like to get it fixed. Also, the filters are gone as well. (see attached screenshot, the grey box at the bottom is where the filters should be.

I have narrowed down the problem to this area "AppData\Local\Packages\MSFLIGHT SIM\LOCAL CACHE\PACKAGES\Official\OneStore\fs-base\worldmap". I open up the WorldmapFilters.xml and I would change two values TYPE_RNAV_FIX & TYPE_NAVAID

I would have to do this after each update. This changes the sim to have the RNAV and Navaids ALWAYS being displayed on the map. I have reset these values back to what they were, nothing changes.

I have removed the WorldmapFilters.xml file from the directory (in the hopes it would be recreated once the sim relaunches, nothing

    Any suggestions are welcome
