I shut down my PC every night and reboot the next day.
Also, I have checked all my graphics (and other) settings and they were apparently unaffected by the update.
Next thing I'll try: Move Community out of Packages and establish a new, empty one, to see if there's a conflict with one or more add-ons.
Try using an Add on helper. I use MSFS Add on linker https://flightsim.to/file/1572/msfs-addons-linker
That way you can disable the add on, and then turn them on one by one

For some time I have had consistently smooth flying and high FPS (which I generally limit at 30-40 in my nVidia control panel, because I don't think you can see the difference above that). But after an absence of several weeks, I booted up recently and found my FPS down in the teens at airports and only in the 20s when way up in the air. I tried several less-demanding planes and airports, but the result was the same: pronounced stalls and stutters and dismal FPS all the time. Any ideas?
This has happened to me from time to time, fire up the sim, go to a usual city, and I am down from the 40's into the teens.
For me, the ONLY thing I can figure is that I have gone days without a reboot. Should I always have to reboot every few days, probably not, but after doing a reboot my FPS and everything else is back to normal. Guessing that something might get messed up?? Just know it works for me.

680 rpm is about right
I took a look at my RPM's today in the 172, I was just a tad over 600 myself

Looks like your running an air cooler (??) Just curious what your CPU temps are running?
Also, this rig looks like you could handle VR,

Hi!, I would like to find out what is the easy to use software to TRENSFAR all data from my almost full SSD M2 nMve drive to a larger drive of the same kind. Or a cloning software that you may have used. So if you know of a good one then please kindly give me the LINK or name of it. Thanks.
I use this- https://www.macrium.com/reflectfree
Another wise user on this forum told me about it. I use it for backup, scheduled backup of one of my main folders (get's done every day), it also does cloaning.

I large number of my takeoffs have been to test my settings, did a tweak here and there, VR needing to be tweaked, etc.....
Also, early on, you could do a full flight and not have it registered as a landing by the sim (that happened to me more then once), not sure HOW many of those landings I lost

EGLC London City to EGLL is a good one for testing performance in high density scenery as is Laguardia to JFK.
I have the London City one saved and is a regular for me Love the Eye!

the ONLY time I paid for the sim was when I went to the hightest tier. Other then that, no need to purchase again, and like @KiloWatt also pointed out, I installed it several times as well.

. On the return trip if I skipped the traffic pattern I could take off south and immediately turn west and land so two minutes sounds about right.
That's how I flew it. I just put a waypoint in the middle of the water, took off, flew to it, hit the waypoint and was lined up with runway 3

Just tried this flight out myself, did it in two minutes
Was a lot of fun as well

You can do it this way from within the simulator, but personally, I just go to the rolling cache folder I created in windows explorer and delete it there.
This is true, however for me, if I am in the sim, deleting it from there is a LOT easier, no need to navigate to the exact folder (which can be nested pretty deep).

Uninstalld ans installd.
Everything works.
Sigh, I am both happy and sad at the same time. Glad it is working, but that you had to uninstall and then the LONG reinstall process. Oh well

I had forgotten to look in the Marketplace for the Update. Some reason I was looking in the Content Manager. No biggie, it all went smooth

Have you done a reboot?
Cleaned out the Community Folder?

I've posted this "bug" on the https://forums.flightsimulator.com/ bug section as well. Had a reply that this is also happening when the AC is cold and dark. Actually made me smile

The only Yoke options in the .flt files are for setting the yoke position fore/aft and left/right. Unfortunately the model.xml and model_interior.xml files are encrypted so we can't check there either - this is where some of the light switch defaults may be located too.
Ahhh. That makes sense (I had forgotten about the Yoke as well having to make it disappear )
Thanks!

Hi Tim, thanks for the replay. I did as you suggested, however, it did not work
I know I was using the correct file because I was able to turn off other lights prior to the loading of the sim, and they were off when I started on the runway.

Is there a way to have the floodlights turned OFF when I fly this AC? They are always on, no matter the time of day, and it would be nice to get them to be off when I starting using the AC. Yes, I know I can twist the dials to turn them off for the flight, but I was hoping for a permanent solution
The same goes for the glareshield and Pedestal lighting as well. Again, I know I can turn them off, but having to do this for every flight
I am attaching screenshots showing what I am talking about. BTW: time time of day in the sim was 3pm

While I cannot comment on the actual pedals, I thought did occur, you checked for conflicts (duplicate settings??), but did you check the keyboard side as well??
-
Glad to read that you are getting things sorted out. I know that feeling quite well
As for using the mouse for the autopilot, that is how I fly myself, I get it setup while on the ground, then when I am airborne, I just turn it on, select Nav and I am good.

I think it's nice that prospective MSFS2020 buyers have choices to fit their budgets and desires. All three choices are good and none are 'better' than the others. My only gripe would be the high cost of upgrading to a higher level version. Microsoft missed a customer service/fan loyalty opportunity IMHO. It shouldn't have been more than about $25-$30 to move up a notch..... again merely MY opinion. Other than that I'm luvin' the sim flight experience Asobo created.
Randy, you and I are on the same page
I "thought" that the upgrade would have been at a WAY lower cost then it was. Sigh I still enjoy flying the C172 with my Steam gauges, lol

I've had settings change from time to time and I am/was positive that it was not me. Not sure about the how, but I have seen it on my end. Good a place as any to start

i7 2700K, 8GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 1050ti, 500gb ssd.
Before doing anything else, I'll try your suggestion and keep the 2560 x 1440 and turn down the render scale.
That's my problem setting things in MSFS, I have idea what most of those setting are or what they do.
Kilo has given very good advice.
I would also suggest looking at You Tube videos, there are a LOT of them that discuss what each of the settings do, and some of them deal with the resolution, plus a host of other topics.
