  1. Hello all, been awhile. I have started to play msfs 2020 again after a little down time. Got it loaded up ok, but have an issue with my flifgtstick and where to install aircraft at.

First thing is my x52 pro has some issues. Last time I played I was using windows 10. Now I use windows 11. There are no logitec x52 pro windows 11 drivers that I have seen looking on the net. Tried the windows 10 driver with window 11 and no joy.

So can someone recommend a flightstick (cheap) thats compatible with window 11 and msfs 2020?

Second question is where do I put downloaded aircraft (steam)?

    Thanks.

I have an old Saitek x52 joystick and throttle that work just fine. I managed to find a program through Logitech's site to allow me to program the time and such, but default, I was able to program everything.

Installing: aircraft should go into MSFS community folder.

  2. Same problem can't get past loading a flight or activity. Blue bar stops at about 80% and Task Manager shows MSFS not responding. I uninstalled MSFS and did a full reinstall except for Market Place Owned Packages. On my Internet it took 4 X 24 hours to complete. Still having the same problem. Is there anyway of finding out what is causing the issue as there is no message.

    Windows 10 Pro Version 21H1 - Intel® Core™ i7-8700 CPU @ 3.2GHz 24.0GB RAM

Wish I can help. Have you tried googling your problem?

  3. Trying to get Flight Simulator to open and the bar on the bottom of the screen goes all the way across and that’s it. It won’t even open in Safe Mode. The only thing different I have done is add a second monitor for showing things like NeoFly or charts. I used it last night had no problem. I installed the new Kodiak 100 Series ll. Thinking this might be what’s wrong. Any ideas what I need to do now?

Currently having server issues. It’s on their end, not ours.

  4. Hi everyone.

Not likely to happen , see my last paragraph.

I've been in RW and SimW for many years. My first sim was before PC sims existed.

I wrote my own Nav VOR, ADF sim on the Main frame, and Minis, before PC existed, had all the Micros sims, and many hundreds of hrs in the 6DOF C130.

I've purchase just about every sim since they first showed up, toys / games and for Professional training and built my own 3DOF motion chairs..., created my own acft from scratch and modified many of the existing flight models to better approximate what I know to be more Real life like representation of the actual acft flight dynamics that I fly in Real World.

In my opinion this is the absolute worse release that I've seen.

When I first used it and did an approach into an airport that I fly into on a daily basis, I did not recognize it at all. The Tower was the wrong shape, there were trees and building.. where they should not have been, the Flight dynamics model was incorrect, even the numbers were off...

I expected a lot from this sim, it had a good foundation and my hope was that they will continue to improve on that not turning it into a game / toy / scenery viewer that forces you to be on the Inet, and have MS smell your shorts every time you want to practice and or use the sim. Add to that the continuous forced on us, broken updates.. and you have a huge disappointment.

I have no real hope for this to become a useful sim / tool, ever, and as long as I can use FSX and XP11 with my own scenery this will not be used and I do not recommend it to any serious aspiring pilot.

There will be what I refer to as fanatics, pretenders, that will never listen to any constructive input and will try to discredit people that actually have the best intentions to improve everyone's experience including this sim.

While I didn't have any problems with the updates, I understand your negativity. I personally enjoy FS over FSX, but that's me. I'm not looking to acquire a license, so for me it's a great leisurely past time. I did buy Vegas scenery as I too was disappointed in the airport which in real life, is near my workplace, but also the default scenery didn't even have Raiders Stadium.

I'm a huge fan of the free Airbus FlyByWire. It's damn near payware quality, so I'm happy.

As I've so often said, to each their own. I wouldn't go so far as to call it the "absolute worse release" tho.

Sorry for turning this into a FS thread, but I just wanted to respond to Flytv1.

  5. “ I might be stirring up a flame war here, but P3D runs rings around MSFS2020. Even more so if you put some work into it.”

    Not by me, no.

Everybody’s entitled to their opinion. I have an ex-shipmate who built himself a full 737 cockpit and P3D is ALL he flies.

He swears by it. Which is fine.

Myself, personally, coming from FSX to MSFS, was akin to going from FS 2002 to FSX.

  6. Thank you very much, I have watched a couple of videos but are not very helpull ,they seem are made un necessary long and complicated for example they are not telling you straight how to create flight plan . Thank you very much again

I use Simbrief to create a flight plan. Much easier. It’s also free to create an account.

  7. So after a driver update to my video card, when I hit ctrl + alt to minimize the screen so I can access the Simbrief page (I’m on one monitor) like I’ve always done before, now it zooms in the MSFS screen so close that I have to ctrl + alt out of it.

Is there a setting I missed? I noticed after the driver update, I had to re-do my graphic configuration; it was reset to low.

    Thanks.

  8. Can't say I'm too impressed by 2020. This seems more like a game company put it together to make a quick buck. No moving your head around anywhere in the cockpit, no three quarter view out front as you approach from an angle. I thought the graphics is what makes this so great. They don't look any better than the original FSX. We've lost thousands of airports. Once I get FSX back up and running I doubt I'll ever fly this again. I see nothing but limitations, whereas FSX is endlessly fluid (for free or low cost) and will never be used to its fullest capacity. Why didn't the Aces Team come up with their own and market it?

    Um, yay you I guess?

I couldn't go back to FSX and the monopoly game looking houses and such now.

While I do miss my QW 757, I find the FREE FBW A320 a superior change.

And of course, buzzing my house in 3D instead of the generic or flat photoreal scenery is still so cool to me.

  9. Okay, so I've finally decided to take the Navigraph plunge to be prepared for my PMDG 737 purchase later this week and my Honda Jet Purchase later this week.

Can you all give a complete noob to Navigraph some tips as what to expect with the subscription? I mean, when I use the charts, does it show the position of the aircraft in an overlay on the chart so when I taxi I can have it on my second monitor and use that as a guide? Also in flight does it show where I am on the charts?

Do the navdata info interfere at all with the way points in the sim when I update the sims navdata when the airac cycles come out?

Just a couple of many questions I have, figured I'd start off light for you all first on them.

No and no. They are simply charts to give you ILS frequencies, approach altitudes, etc.

Used in conjunction with Simbrief, they help plan your flight with up to date weather.
