  1. I think I heard somewhere, that the MSFS main thread is running on core 1 of the CPU. Should that be true, and should the 21-23% be an average over all cores, then these numbers would not tell a lot. If you use e.g. task manager, you could monitor the core 1 usage separately.
  2. There are not many things I could think of, that influence fps in such a way. For NVidia systems using / not using DX12 and DLSS may be - or a very complex add-on scenery may be. Other than that all changes I ever experimented with, resulted in marginal performance changes only. So I am afraid, I can't help.
  3. You said, you have updated your BIOS. From my experience updating the BIOS may result in a reset of certain settings back to default. So in case you have e.g. modified core frequencies or similar, these may now be back to default after the update. Maybe you double check.
  4. The official packages (everything which is free plus some commercial add-ons) use 335 GB, my community folder uses 26 GB.
  5. For the MSFS Forum (and most other sites) I am using Firefox with no issues.
  6. this is what I found - is it what you have been looking for? https://flightsim.to/file/52043/cessna-t-37b-tweet As always: download at your own risk... (I have not tested it)
  7. one little thing to add: if successfully installed the plane should be listed in the MSFS Content Manager.
  8. Three issues to comment on: a. this forum is independent b. as loki wrote: to run MSFS you need a Microsoft Account. Either you had one, when you purchased MSFS or you created one. Generally Login Information consists of your email address and a password you selected when you created your account. It may be the same you maybe use when logging into office 365 (if you use it). I personally use different logins. c. when you purchased your plane, did it come as a file with an installer? Or did it come as zip archive (or other archive like rar)? Or just as download link? Installer - re-run it, it should copy everything to the correct location. archive - extract it. If it contains an installer, see (1). If it contains directories, copy them to the community directory. link - download it again and see what you get. attached example: an add-on Lockheed Electra in my community directory.
  9. faster than I had thought. step-by-step guide attached. I hope, it helps. guide.txt
  10. Hi, I will put something together, but that may take a day or two.
  11. Hi danbiosca, The approach I am going o describe assumes that you have a basic knowledge about how to create scenery projects. And it assumes that we are dealing with freeware sceneries, not commercial ones. In general it is possible to exclude scenery objects from a scenery, but data management is a bit difficult. This is because you need to decide, which scenery is the one that will loose the duplicates and which scenery is the one to keep the objects. You can not mix it. For the reason, please see below. Then you create a project which contains "Exclusion Rectangles" or "Rectangles" with the respective "exclude building" property for the location where a scenery object is to be removed. I am not sure, whether a rectangle or an exclusion rectangle works best (or at all...), you need to try. It also depends on whether you talk about buildings or other objects. then different properties need to be selected. By default, the Flight Simulator loads community sceneries in alphabetic order. You need to make sure, that the scenery which is going to loose the objects is loaded first, your exclusion scenery is loaded second and the scenery which is going to keep the objects is loaded last. Change directory names, in necessary. This is why you cannot mix things and remove some objects from one scenery and others from the other scenery. Another option is to decompile the BGL files and recreate the scenery, delete what you do not want and re-compile everything. This is a complex approach and I once did it for a test with mixed results. As long as you do not publish your work, you are probably fine. But you should carefully read any restriction the authors have defined for their work. And ask them for permission, if you feel unsure. I hope this helps.
  12. Whether you need to use the Content Manager or not depends on the software provider. Most freeware stuff is "installed" by dragging a directory to the community directory. But then, there is no version control. Others provide their own installation routine and they should tell you, what to do. Sometimes you find a placeholder and the content manager has to do the downloading for you. If you select the "not installed" package (a checkmark appears to the left of the entry), is there an active download button near the lower end of the screen?
  13. My recent prolongation coincided with the change of the forum software. In the new forum I am no longer able to see my membership anywhere (profile, account, posts, ...) Money has been drawn from my account, so that part of the prolongation worked. Any news about when this functionality of the old forum will become available in the new?
  14. On top of what has been said before: In the early days of MSFS there were reports, that having several modellib.bgl files under the community folder might lead to instabilities. Ever since then I followed the rule to check the modellib.bgl file name (general under ...\community\add-on-scenery-directory\scenery\mycompany) and rename it to something unique, then edit the corresponding entry in the layout.json file (under ...\community\add-on-scenery-directory) so that it reflects the name change I made (add-on-scenery-directory as placeholder for the real add-on name). I do not know, whether this still valid or whether one of the SUs which were released since then have changed something with respect to this issue - but if it does not help to maintain a stable system, it does at least not do any harm.
  15. hip hip hurray (something to keep in mind for the future)
  16. I had the message yesterday for the first time. It was the first time I launched the simulator that day. It popped up after I had selected a random place for departure from the world map and had clicked "FLY". My GPU is not overclocked. I can say with some confidence that the GPU temperature was in the low 50's at max, the fan at 45% (at the time of the problem - numbers getting higher the longer the simulation runs). I have the 531.41 driver installed - no Geforce Experience, no other optimization tool, some add-ons, I made sure that every modellib.bgl has its individual name. I use default driver settings, except for anisotropic filtering set in the program specific NVidia settings and disabled in the simulation. All my graphic settings in the sim are in the medium to high area, using DLSS (balanced) and DX12. The problem occurred only once, I restarted the simulator, confirmed "normal mode" and had no problems for the rest of the day. Also today no problems so far. As I started form about the same spot, I have difficulties to imagine, it is an "insufficient memory" problem. I would think (contrary to my earlier post) that insufficient memory would produce a more repeatable problem (but who knows...). The Task Manager said that about 4.7GB of the 6GB VRAM of the card were used. What remains to me then is a software bug, a nasty one of the kind that creates random behaviour. Should it be a hardware problem, I will see the message more often in the future, I presume. I will let you know.

St.Martin's Church, Kassel (GER) for MSFS 2020 - version 1.0.0 The "Martinskirche" (St.Martin's church) is the main church of Kassel. Building started sometime in the 1340's. The progress was slow and parts of the church collapsed in 1440. The consecration finally took place in 1462. The southern tower was partially completed in 1487, but it was not before 1564/65, that the spire was finalized. Meanwhile the church had become a protestant church, when Landgrave Philipp converted to Protestantism in 1524. Then it took more than another 300 years, until the northern tower was build (1889 to 1892). In 1943, the church was heavily damaged when Kassel was attacked by allied bombers and burnt. The nave collapsed and the walls suffered from the heat of the fire. Rebuilding took place from 1954 to 1958 with a reconstruction of the old nave, but new and more modern towers. The church was re-consecrated in 1958. Today it is the church of the bishop of the protestant church of Kurhessen-Waldeck. This scenery fills the void place in the old town center of Kassel with a 3D model of the church. To install: unzip the Martinskirche_V1.0.0.zip archive to a place of your choice. It will contain some documentation and another archive "scenery-ks-Martinskirche.zip" Locate your community directory. Then drag the "scenery-ks-Martinskirche" directory of the second zip-file to your community directory. The scenery is build using Blender 3.3.5 (see www.blender.org), the Asobo Blender exporter version 1.3.0 and the SDK version 0.21.0 of Microsoft/Asobo. Google Earth was used to estimate dimensions. This scenery is freeware. If you use it, you do so fully at your own risk. The author disclaims all warranties, either expressed or implied. The archive may be distributed freely, provided that all files and the documentation are left complete and unchanged and that no money is asked for it. Redistributing this archive with any files added, removed or modified without the prior written permission of the author is prohibited. So is the inclusion of any individual file from this archive in another archive or distribution without the prior written permission of the author. Copyright 2023 by Christian Grimsel.
  18. If I understand Ster100 correctly, the question is about "can Navigraph do an airport search based on distance and surface quality". Nothing wrong about this questions. I do not know anything about navigraph, but the East Frisian Islands in the North Sea offshore Northern Germany provide, what he is looking for (look for Juist, Norderney, Langeoog and so on). Can do some island hopping there.
  19. I found this in the MSFS forum covering the problem: "Hello everyone, In talking with Asobo, they have informed us that this message is triggered when memory consumption is too high for your particular system. Before, you would just get a CTD or freeze with no error message. Suggested solutions if you are regularly getting this message are one or more of the following: Reduce graphical quality settings (e.g. from High to Medium) Reduce LOD sliders Remove addons that could be causing this error We agree that the message is a bit vague and unclear. We have submitted feedback to the devs to change the text of this error message so it better describes the cause. Thanks, MSFS Team" If this is the reason, it does not necessarily matter which driver version you are using or how often you re-install something. Can you monitor your RAM / VRAM consumption?
  20. It is some time ago that I needed to reinstall. But I could recover the licence from Microsoft store. There are how-to-s on the internet, who exactly to do it.
  21. The same here: the videos of Flying Theston on Youtube are great.
  22. Does that mean, you have successfully installed MSFS and you can start the App from an icon on your desktop or somewhere in the Start menu - and it runs? If so, you can do the following to find the community folder: start MSFS go to "Options" and "General Options" go to "Developers" and make sure, "Developer Mode" is ON in the [DevMode] menu at the top of your screen go to "Packages Folders" the two buttons below "Open..." open an explorer window at the correct location. Hope it helps.
  23. To find the Community Folder, there are several ways. One is to follow the following steps: start MSFS go to "Options" and "General Options" under "Developers"check "Developer Mode" and switch it on if its not on already this adds a new menu at the top of the MSFS window from the new menu select "tools" and then "virtual file system" select "packages folders" and finally "open community folder" This opens an explorer window at the correct location. Then follow mrzippy's and loki's advice.

Krukenburg Castle is situated on a hill above the village of Helmarshausen, today part of Bad Karlshafen, in Northern Hessia (GER), north of Kassel-Calden airport. It is quite special in the way it was build. Central part of the castle is a church, built between 1107 and 1126. Its layout consists of four cross-shaped wings around a central rotunda, This design follows the layout of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. The abbot of the Helmarshausen Monastry - Wino - had brought the necessary architecural plans from a pilgrimage to Jerusalem around 1030. This scenery removes vegetation from the castle site and adds a model of the castle remains. For more information please read the README.TXT file contained in the zip-archive.
  25. As far as I know, you are right. The new lay-out leaves more responsibility with the file owners, for example to provide all relevant information/links/screenshots. And that is something still to be learned and get accustomed to. Some files got misplaced. If you browse for example the download categories, you find "liveries" only for MSFS (which is an empty category) and X-Plane. I am 100% sure, there are many more for all FS versions. I do not know if this is something, the relevant owners can correct. When some of my scenery was initially misplaced, Adrian K (admin) corrected it for me. But it was my task to provide him with the necessary information. And then Adrian corrected it within a few days.
