  3. FSX Bell TH-57C Naval Aviation Centennial - Repaint

    This is the 1st in a serious of aircraft specially painted to celebrate the US Naval Aviation Centennial that occurred in 2011. 
    In February of 1911 the US Navy signed its first requisition to purchase an aircraft. Later that same year the first landing was made onto a deck of a Naval vessel.
    During 2011, the US Navy celebrated the Centennial of Naval Aviation with various events. As part of the commemoration of this Centennial several aircraft received historic or specially designed repaints. One TH-57C from Training Air Wing Five (TAW-5) at NAS Whiting Field, Milton, Florida was painted for the Centennial.
    This is a repaint (textures only) for the FSX default Bell 206.

    The CH-46 was first introduced in 1964 as a dual rotor utility medium lift helicopter. Over 600 airframes were built, serving mainly with the USMC and USN, export versions were sold to Sweden, Japan and Canada, these variants differ in having larger balloon floats. Civilian versions have been operated by New York airways and PAN-AM.
     
    Features

    This is a fictional paint Of CF-OKS ( OKANAGAN HELICOPTERS) if it was converted to a Shortsky. This is what it might possibly look like, within the limitations of the Vertavia Seaking paint kit.
    The Company Started in 1947 with one, 2 seater helicopter, a Bell 47-B3, CF-FZX, and 3 employees.
    Carl Agar, ex RCAF flight instructor, Alfred “Alf” Stringer, a 25 year old airplane mechanic, ex RCAF, and Arnold “Barney” Bent, ex RCAF flight Instructor, started the Company.
    Started as a Crop Dusting Operation in Penticton.
    Company name Okanagan Air Services Ltd.
    By Dec 1958 they had 54 helicopters.
    By the 70's they became one of the worlds largest Companies and operated aound the globe.
    I was fortunate enough to be employed by them for many enjoyable years.

    This version represents CH-46D BuNo 154030 that was assigned to the US Marine Corps squadron HMM-161 "Grayhawk" based at MCAS Tustin California during the 1980's.
    Repaint is based upon my personal records of this aircraft, that I flew while assigned to HMM-161 in 1980-1981.

Texture of Aeronavale AS-365 No. 6019 In 1990, the French Navy acquired three AS.365N Dauphins scattered along the coast (La Rochelle, Cherbourg and Le Touquet), and destined for public service missions: safeguarding at sea, preservation of property and people, pollution investigation. These are numbers 6019, 6081 and 6091. At that time, unable to manage the rotation of the devices by itself, the Navy had ceded the implementation and maintenance to the company Héli-Services for three non-renewable years. The concession ended on December 31, 1993. The Giralami report of the Court of Accounts highlights that the implementation by a civil society of equipment belonging to the Ministry of Defense is contrary to Public Law.
