FSX/FSX-SE Scenery--KTVL Lake Tahoe Airport. Lake Tahoe Airport (KTVL) is located in northeast California (CA), USA on the CA/NV border and is a publicly owned, public use facility established in 1959. KTVL features a 8541 x 100 foot lighted asphalt runway with 4-light PAPI - runway 18 end and MALSF approach system. The airport has a lighted wind indicator in a segmented circle and a white-green airport beacon operating sunset to sunrise. The airport is home to 23 aircraft - 19 single engine, 1 multi, 2 heli and 1 ultralight. This version came about as an attempt to provide a more accurate version of the airport and the surrounding area using the stock FSX scenery with no add-ons. In total there are 13 small GA parking spots, 7 medium GA parking spots, 9 large GA parking spots, 5 small gates, 2 medium gates, 2 heavy gates, 2 cargo ramps, 1 helipad plus fuel parking. I realize that there are other AFCADs of this airport, but through my testing one required you to download from mega upload which the link is dead. The other AFCAD is from 2010 and I didn't like how that was created so I created my own. I added one building, several windsocks and made the taxi signs larger. Airport vehicles use the proper vehicle paths and do not use taxiways. The Rocky Mountain Emergency Services fire training facility is depicted and there is a training session in progress. Be sure to visit Mustard Mickey's before your travels take you through the scenic Montana wilderness. Stop by Vetter Aviation and thank Brent for his over two decades of service to the aviation industry. As with all my work the structures are original work. Some are accurate, some are workups based on what I think they might look like. Three scenery complexity levels are used (normal, dense, and very dense). More eye candy appears with each increase.
