FSX Tutorial--Reducing Traffic Speed. Reducing FSX Traffic speed - an illustrated tutorial. One of the more "interesting" enhancements which Microsoft introduced in FSX is the vehicle traffic which can be seen on the highways around larger cities and airports. However many simmers feel the speed at which these vehicles travel is considerably too fast and therefore quite unrealistic. One simmer has even commented that he cannot overtake many vehicles when flying low and slow in the default Cessna. It is quite easy to edit the speeds of such vehicles and the process has been documented in at least one forum post. However it was thought to be useful especially for those not accustomed to working with command line interfaces to have a tutorial available which illustrates each step. The events supported are: Fire on Engine 1, Fire on Engine 2, Fire on Engine 3, Fire on Engine 4, Damage Status Engine 1, Damage Status Engine 2, Damage Status Engine 3, Damage Status Engine 4, APU on Fire, Fuel Status, Avionics Master On/Off, Autopilot Master On/Off, Autopilot Flight Director On/Off, Flaps Up/Down, Spoiler Armed, Gear Up/Down, Exit open/Closed, Canopy Open/Closed, Tail Hook Up/ Down, Structure Iced, Pitot Heater On/Off, Engine Anti Ice on/off, Pitot Iced, APU on/off, No Smoking on/off, Seatbelts On/Off, Nosewheel locked, Smoke On/Off, Set button "Off", Set button "Green", Set button "Amber", Set button "Red". Buttons assigned to an event will change color when the event occurs. For example, if gear up/down is assigned the button will light green when the gear are down and locked. FSX SP2 Cessna 150 Propeller Texture. For FSX SP2 users only, a propeller texture eight-pack for the FS2004 Fravin C150L. These prop textures come with different colored prop blade tips in order to match them with the paint scheme of the airplane you wish to use them on. Red, yellow, green, blue, purple, orange, red white and blue (Go Team America!), and of course... just plain plain for your plane. These prop textures solve the opaque FS2004 props seen in FSX SP2. They are as transparent as possible... one more notch down on the scale and they dissappear completely. They also work on many other FS2004 aircraft used in FSX SP2, as long as you remember to rename the file to the same name as the prop file you are replacing. By Tom Tiedman.

FSX Sim Panel Connect Demo has been written to connect Phidget components to FSX for flight sim cockpit builders. The demo version will connect a Phidget USB servo controller (running Hitec rc servos) as well as the Phidget Text LCD with 8/8/8 Interface. The demo will provide com1 nav1 readouts via the text lcd, throttle, mixture and flap controls through Phidget sliders, as well as airspeed and Engine RPM via HiTec servos and the Phidget servo controller. This program is software only and meant for evaluation purposes, A full single engine VFR version is available. It is the builder's responsibility to obtain his/her own phidget components. The program requires FSX, Simconnect, and the phidget library.
