The one builtinto the simulator itself works as a basic system but doesn't provideany real immersion or realism. It is very plain and simple and can beaccessed either by a combination on the keyboard of Ctrl+J, or via thein-sim menus, and that is as far as things really go. /images/reviews/pushbkex/t/1.jpgLuckily, FS2Crew have released Pushback Express for MSFS, which isa very basic, yet powerful tool which allows you to control thepushback yourself, open aircraft doors, request a range of differentservices and even control the pushback with your voice! It really is amust-have add-on for MSFS in my opinion, and I'm very excited to giveit a review. FeaturesSo as I touched upon earlier this really is a simple tool, andalthough it doesn't have every single one of the features that GSXdoes for example, it does make your simming experience a whole loteasier. One awesome thing about this software is the tooltips feature,which combines perfectly with the default MSFS interface to teach youhow to use the software if you are unsure how to. This is excellentfor people such as myself who don't have time to study user manuals orinstructions and just want to get right into things and learn rightaway. Another great feature that I liked was the ability to manuallysteer the pushback truck or tug using the joystick axis.Unfortunately, the software itself doesn't currently work the same wayas GSX where it automatically detects which directions are availablefor push and where the taxiways are, etc. but that tiny little issueis blown right out of the water by the ability to actually controlyour own pushback vehicles! Manually controlling the tug isn't the only way you can push orpull to where you want to go. The software also lets you make use ofthe keyboard to do the same task, or to choose a "distance" basedpushback which will simply push your aircraft back to a certain,user-defined distance from the gate or ramp. You can also use your microphone to speak to the software tocontrol several aspects of your pre-flight experience. InterfaceThe interface for this software is very basic, yet veryprofessional-looking. You have the ability to double-click the titlebar of the window which will collapse it down, and the window itselfseems to default to a "bring to front" mode which prevents you fromclicking on something else on a second screen and having to fumblearound to find it again. /images/reviews/pushbkex/t/interface.jpgAlthough some users might find this a little annoying, I was unableto find an option to disable this "bring to front" behaviour, butsince I use a second screen this didn't really affect me at all. The buttons on the main interface seem to be pretty basic and easyto understand. You have everything you need on there such as openingaircraft doors, requesting ground power, requesting stairs, etc. You can also go into the settings of the program to modify thingssuch as the pushback sensitivity, pushback distance (if you're usingDistance Mode), enabling or disabling tooltips, or indeed if you wantto enable or disable the inbuilt pilot and ground crew voices. You canalso select from a range of different pilot and ground crew voiceswhich seem to be quite well made, and add to the overall immersion. /images/reviews/pushbkex/t/settings_page.jpgThere is also the ability to bind certain functions to custom keyson your keyboard which is nice to see. It makes things a lot easierthan manually selecting things from the software interface. PerformanceWith regards to performance, I can safely say that I foundabsolutely no impact on frame rates from using the software itself -there were no stutters or visual bugs. Although it might not come under performance specifically, I didnotice sometimes that the pushback tug seems to randomly disappearonce the pushback is complete, as opposed to returning back to itsproper position on the ramp. I'm sure this is something that is easilyfixed and will probably be improved in a future update. In terms of how the software itself actually works and performswhen you're using it, again I found no issues whatsoever. It doesn'tseem to crash to desktop or lag in any way, and all the relevantfunctions and buttons work as expected. Price Point And MarketplaceFS2Crew Pushback Express can be purchased for $19.95 currently,which I think is a brilliant price for such an easy-to-use andfeature-packed piece of software. /images/reviews/pushbkex/t/2.jpgFinal VerdictWould I recommend FS2Crew Pushback Express? Of course, I would, itis a must-have piece of software for Microsoft Flight Simulator. It isbasic enough for people who don't want too much complication, butsophisticated enough to pack a punch when compared to other tools onthe market of this type that we have available for P3D or FSX. No doubt FS2Crew will be constantly providing updates for thissoftware which will allow it to develop and improve over time, and inthe future we will probably see a whole range of improvements,features and fixes. From now on, you'll bedownloading MSFS FS2Crew products via the Product Manager, not viayour on-line account. This is a much better system than before. It's way easier to getupdates now. Product Manager Download Link (If it doesn't run, check your Firewall/Antivirus. Sometimes theycan block programs.) 2. FS2Crew for the FBW A32NX and Pushback Express have beenupdated. You can update them via the Product Manager. This biggest change is in PBE, however, and it's for "DISTANCEPUSHBACK" mode. We've added an arrow to mark the taxiway line. It allows you toeasily set the final pushback heading and turn point. No one else in MSFS can currently do this. MSFS has a lot of limits, and we're adapting and overcoming them fast. This new update brings us pretty close to automatic pushbacks,which is what most users really want above all else. We suspect from now own no one will use Rudder Control Mode anymore. Everyone will be using "Distance Pushback Mode", which will be big change from before! At any rate, watch the video! I demonstrated it! Source

This weekwe're bringing you the same thing to Pushback Express! If you're using FS2Crew for the FBW A32NX, please use the latestpublic beta version. If you just purchased FS2Crew, remember that thedownload file for the public beta is not the same file as the one inyour account. You do not need to uninstall them first. 3. You need to own a legal copy of FS2Crew to use the public betas. 4. The public betas for FBW and PBE are very solid. We stronglysuggest using them -but remember they are still technically publicbetas. 5. After installing for the 1st time, you may see the FS2Crew PBEpanel appears way too big (huge black rectangular area... don't sendme a support ticket!). Instead, move or hide the panel. Behind the big panel window is amessage box asking you to give admin rights to our server that we usecontrol the Command Center. After you click "YES" for giving the FS2Crew server that requiredadmin permissions, the FS2Crew panel will return to normal size. 6. Due to a tech limit, we cannot currently auto size the FS2CrewCommand Center panel. You will need to manually enlarge it toaccommodate the various FS2Crew buttons and text boxes. 7. You must "Launch" FS2Crew (Pushback Express or Flight Crew A320)every time you want to run the program, even if you see the extrasub-panel commands. The original stand-alone FS2Crew panel (the one you're used toseeing that does not reside in the Command Center Tool Bar) must stillbe allowed to run. However, you can keep it minimized if you justwant to use the Command Center so that way you don't have to see it. To minimize the FS2Crew panel, click the PIN icon, then press theyellow minimize icon (yellow circle button. 9. PBE now features a brand new function never before seen. Asmentioned, we're learning new things about MSFS everyday. And onething we discovered was how to control and place ground objects. That said, if you're in "Distance Pushback" mode, but you can'teyeball the distance to the taxiway line, you can now use a Marshallericon as a "market flag" so to speak. The marshaller can be toggled on / off using the buttons shownbelow in the screen shot, and you can set the distance at which hewill appear. The represents the point at which the airplane willturn. We'll see if we can find a way to compute the turn radius soyou can put the marshaller right on the taxi way line to give you amore accurate distance push. However, it's a neat little trick we hope will improve your"Distance Pushbacks" so you can get closer to the taxiway line. We can now have the tug"pre-connect" to the aircraft, making your experience much morerealistic. However, this necessitated a procedural change. Now, in button andvoice control, tell the ramp crew that you'll be ready in a fewminutes via voice or button control. The tug will connect to the aircraft and hold position. Then whenyou're ready to push, you'll tell the ramp crew you're ready to startthe pushback and the tug crew will tell you to release brakes. This is procedurally much more realistic than the previousversions, where the ramp agents would tell you to release the parkingbrakes well before the tug had arrived. There are also somepretty good improvements coming to Pushback Express shortly so itmatches up with the upcoming Fly By Wire A32NX Project version. One cool thing is we figured out a way to increase the resolutionso the app looks 10 times more sharp and crisp now, so the UI isdrastically prettier. We also added night lighting and an opacity slider and there's someother nice stuff to make PBE more realistic, too. At any rate, if you're a native French speaker, can you pleasetranslate these to speech commands to French for us please. This way you can issue the commands in your language in PBE. We're supporting native English, French, German and Spanish (thoseare the speech languages supported speech recognition in Windows). En francais svp... What would happen is the user's hardware could send a "gear down" sign every second, causing a conflict since we used the Gear Down event as a trigger to open and focus the panel window. That said, if using a single monitor, we recommend simply keeping the panel "locked" in the open state (via the checkbox on the Settings pane), but double clicking on top of the menu to collapse the panel to save screen space.Laid the groundwork for upcoming improvements owing to new functionality recently added to the MSFS SDKs.New Voice set! You can stilluse Menu Control. Note: These are all the languages supported by the Microsoft SpeechRecognition system. We'd love to do Russian and Italian, but I'mafraid Microsoft just doesn't support those languages for speechrecognition.
