CTarana45
It's seems like most of Autopilots in Fs9 default to 340' vs 360'? :pilot: Christopher Tarana
lnuss
Huh? It's been a number of years since I had FS2004, but the compasses all had 360º on the display. And how do autopilots "default to 340' vs 360'" anyway -- I'm not sure what that means. Perhaps you could clarify your meaning. Larry N. If memory serves, I think all A/P course indicators are default set to 340 degrees. Same as FSX. Edited March 20, 2021 by mrzippy Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer! lnuss
Ahhh... So that's what he meant. For that, I don't know why 360º would be more appropriate than 340º -- it has to be set on something, some value, and software generally needs a starting point (default) specified by the programmer. There's no need to add a random number generator to make it different each time. In a real aircraft it would show up as some number (maybe where you left it on a mechanical gauge), likely a "default" number on stuff generated by software unless it incorporated a "memory." Downwind66
Wow, I just had to look for myself, to make sure I wasn't excluded on the default heading of 340* and lo and behold, my default B737-800 opened up with the heading of 340* !! Whew!! Now, this is a dilemma for sure and what do we do about it? Charlie and Larry, what a mission you now have! Rick :cool:

mrzippy
Should be no big deal! It will depend on what aircraft is being used for the default flight. Just set the course adjuster for 360 or 000 and set that along with your default flight. Now whenever you start a flight it will be set to 360. Yippee-Skippy! :p Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!

tiger1962
The compass always shows 340 degrees by default because the default flight is at KSEA runway 34R.
